why?

I refuse to end 2022 without an Omnimon in Digimon World 2. After almost 20 years i must achieve this. Digimon World 2 is my favorite Digimon game, and if it ever got remade id buy whatever system it came out on.

I am shocked and yet happy that someone made video about this game's mechanics in 2021. Man, I remember rage quitting a few times cause I always hit the cap and never could figure out what to do next, until trying out dna digivolving like some older game faqs/gamewinners site would say to do. Here's hoping, as doubtful as it could be, that Bandai Namco looks into this style again! Maybe even a remake or a remaster to trim.

Unpopular opinion: DW2 Is actually my favorite game of the series even though it's one of the most hated. The only problem I have is how annoying it can get mid game. Going out, grinding levels, going back, evolving, going out leveling up, going back dna evolution, going out and repeating the same process. Over and over and over and over and over lol. That's my only problem. Aside from all of that, I do love the game, will always have a place in my heart.

One thing I love about DW2 is in the Japanese version, if you let the intro play again after the first time, BlackWargreymon shows up instead of Wargreymon.

The best part of digimon to me is the digimon themselves. There are many different digimon with different powers and designs. My favorite type of digimon is the lop on line.I just think the brown bunny and it’s evolution line is neat.

Thank you so much for this video, I used to ask my parents every week back in the early 2000's to rent this game from blockbuster, but unfortunately they only had 2 copies of the game and one of the discs was unreadable from how damaged it was. So I would always end up not getting the good copy. I was never able to beat the game growing up as I would always get stuck after getting metalgreymon / the disk not loading. I never understood the digivolution being a kid at the time. I recently took it upon myself to play the game again and beat it for my younger self and being 30 years old now I was still royally confused how Digivolution worked. This video is pure gold from the information you presented and how well you edited it in a very entertaining manner. I thank you so much for making it and uploading it here. I will be subscribing to you as I will continue my journey into Digimon world 3 after I complete 2 and I know who to come back to when I will need help. This is one of my most favorite games of all time that i STILL have not beaten. My very first playthrough i didnt know anything about how DNAing worked and i got all the way to blood knights with a lvl 13 Frigimon and Greymon that had been maxed for the longest time and metalgreymon that maxed at, i beleive, 29 or 30

As someone who spent an ungodly amount of hours into this game, the same stage + same stage DNA has a few exceptions. Some combinations of Champion + Ultimate can result in a Vademon (ultimate). Those of us from the modding community haven't really figured out why this occurs, maybe something is wrong with the games internal DNA table or quit possibly it's an issue of over/underflow swapping values somewhere

One thing I didn't find any RU-vidr talking about is the "D1-Grand Prix" found only in the Japanese version of DW2

Just want to say you single handily got me back into Digimon. I thought only the first game had anything deep and the rest were just mindless JRPGs. After looking into it I learn even Cyber Sleuth while extremely casual with the gameplay is much more interesting than say playing Pokemon given the amount of freedom (with restrictions you gotta learn) that comes with it. After I finish Cyber Sleuth I intend on giving World 2 a shot when I want something that can't just be beaten with an auto battle feature.

I really love this game. I picked the virus digimon guard team and got myself demidevimon. and Im so frustrated that Im stuck with Icedevimon with horrible assist skill. but then im also grateful I got to recruit kunemon and dokunemon because kuwagamon's scissor claw is the move i used a lot for battling. I even use it as mega evolution. a single target def down move that can stack and pair it with mudfrigimon's armor coating, its an absolute unit

i know dw2 has alot of flaws but i still love the game since i was 12 :) . im playing it right now with my daughter :) . thank you for this

Good tip for everyone in the comments: DNA Digivolution is the only way to get Veemon in this game and it's quite simple. Just combine any member of the Greymon family with basically anything with the -dramon suffix. The common choice is Greymon (Agumon with 0 DP) + Airdramon (Biyomon with 0 DP) but Cyclonemon is also easy to find. MOVE AND DIGIVOLUTION SPOILERS COMING UP By default, the line goes Veemon->Veedramon->AeroVeedramon->Phoenixmon. The champion and ultimate levels get moves that punish Counter Attacks, while Phoenixmon gets an Assist that fully heals anything on the field *including knocked out allies*. However, Veemon also gets its armor digivolutions. At DP 4+ Veemon becomes Flamedramon, Flamedramon becomes Raidramon with DP 6+, and at DP 8+ Raidramon goes into Imperialdramon with an all-target move called Mega Fire. If you don't hit the criteria of the next Armor Digimon, it slides back into the Veedramon line. My recommendation is that you work your way up to a DP 7 Biyomon, digivolve it up to Phoenixmon so that it gets the revival move, then combine it with a wild Greymon to get a fully prepped Veemon. If you went with Gold Hawks, this is very easy to get started; for everyone else, you'll need to wait a while.

I know that i was always hunting for Okuwamon and doing everything possible to get Seraphimon, having dual scissor claw and Full Heal Restore was my main techs to have. Love dw2, need to get it modded and playing it again.

A tip for Emulator/PC players or OG ps1 with the disk for it: there's a GameShark Code to remove level caps. If you've played the game a lot or even just don't like having to reset your Digimon constantly it's a hell of a useful thing to have. Just be aware that you will be struggling for attacks sometime due to DNA being a great source of move customization. However if you are in a position to use the code you could always still use modifiers to get which ever moves you like. If anyone ever wants the code I'm happy to pass it along. All the best everyone

Which combination is best to use for DNA digivolution to get the strongest digimon? For example some say its best to DNA mega + Mega, some say Mega + Ultimate, some say Mega + Champion ... anyone knows whats the best combo to get the strongest stats? (i dont mind the grind)

@Danny DeVoid Great video and very informative, just one question was unanswered (maybe somebody can help): If you DNA Digivolve does the offspring get the the DP of both parents? For example- Digimon X has 3DP and Digimon Y has 6DP; will their offspring have 9DP (both parents combined) or just +1 to the strongest Digimon's DP?

Question, if I dna Digivolve two Digimon that have DP points, do those values get added or does the stronger Digimon’s DP only carry over +1?

There is a left out info. Would offspring of DNA digivolution get both DP from parents? Let's say the parents have 2 and 1 DP respectively. Or is it only increased by the number of DNA Digivolution you have done on that digimon?

Or you could just grind money to buy toys and lure in (read: capture) wild digimon at higher-level dungeons and basically ignore the DNA system entirely if all you intend to do is get the game's ending. Just... don't ever go inside Tera Domain. lol

Lol, re-learn how digi-evolutions work? I had to learn the entire fking language with a notebook and testing what each symbol does because I only got the game on Japanese for some reason xD On an era where Internet was really not a big thing, I regret nothing :P

The level limit formula is generally accurate, but I believe isn't entirely correct. Most of the time if you use the "formula" you will get the "expected result", which leads to people believing this formula is correct. But if you experiment further you will realise that this formula is only generally accurate but not absolute. Take for example an EL33 Mega Parent and an EL 12 Champion Parent, by using the formula, we should end up with a EL1 Rookie whose level cap is EL35 (+2 from 12 divided by 5 rounded down from parent 2). But if you do it, you will realise the EL1 Rookie's level cap is actually EL30 (decreased, from parent 1's EL33). I do not know for sure the correct formula, but the one I have been using that hasn't been proven wrong (yet) is as follows: New Level Cap = Sum of Parents' EL, divided by 3, then multiplied by 2. (I cannot remember how they deal with decimals in this case, but iirc it is also rounded down.) I remember catching 2 Metalgreymons in BIOS Domain (the one that has Horn Buster learnt), and they cap out at level 27. I combined both and the level cap of my new eventual Wargreymon was 36. And based on the formula you were using, it should be 32? Would really appreciate if anyone who's in-the-know can verify, thanks in advance y'all!

Even its level stop at 9999999999 the digimon still earn a lot of exp however digimon will not level up or evolve to much higher digimon in that way you can still make certain digimon become exp get higher once you DNA digivolve and the computation from a certain number will become much differ that it was Evolution is based on the digimons exp that you will see above the 9999999 I was a gamer of Digimon world 2 so all your details are true but some are wrong also 😁
