This is the very first speedrun I've ever done.
Talking with some people on the Digimon World 2 Discord and a Metalgreymon% was brought up. The idea is to get to him as fast as you can, and catch him. Once you're able to move your digibeetle again the run is over.
I had a lot of fun doing this, and I made a lot of mistakes.
One thing is not truly knowing how to use the timer. I couldn't get it to work without using my mouse to click on it, then splitting my time, then going back in game. Which I don't even know is allowed on speedruns, but that's what happened.
I also clicked my folder icon to make sure it was even recording, I can see on the bottom right the small green circle icon which means it was, but I couldn't remember if I hit the record hotkey or not.
I also wasn't too sure on how to name my splits, so those are messed up. Even noticed I had the wrong Domain name half way through the video, but wasn't going to start over.
In game, I bought some items I didn't need and sold them at a loss. I wasn't sure of the strat I was going to use. I went with going back to BOOT domain to get a Gazimon cause I was hoping the stun would help, and I think it did with the Metalgreymon fight. But not necessary. Would've been better to just get three Vaccine digimon earlier.
The Kokotarimon fight was funny!
The landmine blowing up and destroying my digibeetle was rough news, but I also laughed a lot.
I grinded more than I think I had tom but this was my first time so I wanted to be sure. I think you could win with three level 6s probably. As long as you had some healing items.
This is in my top 5 favorite games of all time, and I'm so happy I was able to do this run. I don't think I'll ever do it again, cause goodness it's just slow.
