Id never thought about how digital art makes watercolour painting easier. Im working with traditional watercolours right now and you have to be so patient.😅 Its also a good point you made about how photography didn't really hurt traditional art. Maybe we can live with it instead of fighting against it

At least I like to think that - there is a market and a field of application for both so as long as we are not mixing things up too much and not expecting a thing to be something it isn’t I believe it’s possible! 😊

Fascinating. The difference between art viewers, art buyers and art collectors? Who is the audience? Re-reading "The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction" by Walter Benjamin from 1935. Personally I still value most highly art made by a person. Something made bespoke, with thought, consideration, humanity, emotion, skill, time and craft developed over a lifetime will always be special. Moving. AI is very interesting of course. Like everything it depends what you want. what resonates with you.

I agree Adam! I do belive that there is a market for all the different forms of art and as long as we don’t mix up the expectations towards the different things it shouldn’t be a problem per se. I obviously agree and also by far prefer the craft-part of traditional art. But if we can repurpose the different digital tools in order to help us in the traditional workflow, that’s definitely to be considered!

I don’t know if I would go as far as that but it definitely offers good solutions for many problems. But like with everything else, what will define what AI is going to become is the intent of it all. Let’s hope it’s a salutary one ✨
