There is nothing wrong with free programs as long as they do the job. I have freelancer friends who use them as well for their job. If you want a "professional looking" software that's free I recommend Krita. I only tried it for a bit yet, but what I seen is quite impressive.

medibang is a free program that i use. i owned fire alpca for a while (it was my first painting program i ever gotten) but my friend suggested medibang and said it was better, and it honestly is!

Hey ToonSquash, if your looking for another free art program that has a lot of options and tools, check out Krita. They do have a payment option, but the free version has a lot to offer as well.

If your looking for a better software then i recommennd MediBang, its free and by firealpaca but it has a similar lay out to photoshop and its easy to use.

This is super helpful. I just started trying digital art a couple of months and I use FireAlpaca as well, which I like because it's not complicated. I was using the blur which didn't work well to blend so I'm so happy with the watercolor brush blending. I'm just wondering how your watercolor brush differs from the watercolor brush FireAlpaca comes with. Thanks for a helpful tut!

Savi Is trash sure, here's a tip if u still didn't get a tablet, I would recommend a *Wacom* intuos small,(not a Wabcom) there are different variations of the Wacom, photo/art/comic there all the same tablet but with different applications that come with it, like some photo editing program for the photo version, but you can still use it for anything else, since it acts like a mouse, and remember, the the program use in this vid Firealpaca is free.

Duuude the tutorial was good but you can't just place shading anywhere, there has to be a light source, and that will determine where the darker and lighter shades are.

Hey Nathen, if you don't mind me asking, could you briefly give the details of that personalized brush? You don't have to, but I'm finding it hard to get a brush close to it's features. The original watercolour is similar, but it's harder to blend with. I totally understand if you don't want to, but if you can, could you please do so? Thanks ^w^

I mean, I'm garbage at art, but for any 9 year olds out there looking to accomplish shading, I have 1 tip. SHIFT THE HUE. DON'T DRAG YOUR COLOR TOWARDS BLACK. IT LOOKS WORST THAN A DEAD MEME. SAY, IF YOU'RE SHADING BLUE, DRAG IT INTO A BLACKER PURPLE. IT WILL LOOK 2000 TIMES BETTER. TRUST ME. I know he mentioned that but it's reALLY IMPORTANT MKAY

hey man! you may remember me from ur later vids can i recommend a drawing program? i use the autodesk sketchbook pro its cheap and good its 3$ month or like 20$ a year. its very good it has many options and tools. so if you have already not picked a program i would recommend it

the cintique was $960 and i saved up my christmas money and my berth day money and also did lots of work for my parents it took me about 1 and a 1/2 years to save up $800 and my mum payed the rest

The tutorial was well designed but the shading didn't look Smooth. Honestly, It looked pretty bad. Thumbs up for the presentation. The wording need improvement too. If you can't speak fluent/smoothly you might need to read a script. You voice is easy on the ears. My message is that you have potential to create nice videos. Just need to learn a few tips on shading and voice over. Thanks for the video.
