It's not as simple as that. We have sex before marriage these days, promiscuity is encouraged. Even a father who wants to be involved will need to work full time maybe to support himself, his child and any new family he may have. Then there is managing a cordial relationship who may hate him, want him back. Fathers do your best

thrilla72 There is no excuse good enough for this. Mothers work full time. Most of them still raise their kids. Mothers move on to new relationships. Most of them still raise their kids. Mothers have complicated relationships with the fathers of their children. Most of them still raise their kids and aren’t actively preventing the father from coming around. If they are, and the father is a safe and stable person, he can go through the court to ensure that she can’t do that anymore. I know life isn’t simple but some things can’t be apologized or excused away. Of course it’s stressful. Why do you think single moms are struggling so hard? It’s expensive, time consuming and limits career opportunities until the kids are old enough to care for themselves. That is exactly why they need support from the other responsible party (and not just financial).

That more $ & time for your child taken away just going there. If she withholds the child as a way to punish you what are courts going to do? (Not that I would want my ex thrown in jail) Its very direct & swift against non custodial fathers right. If you fall arrears in payments you'll be locked up... theyll suspend visitation...If I have my kids on a weekday when I'm not supposed to 48 hrs that's a felony in VA. kidnapping. So when you go down the courts realm a lot goes against you. I haven't had to do a lot of courts with my ex I can talk to her.

You have to cash out another household, married you're bring all the $ to your own house, you gotta arrange time with kids, married just come home they're there. You may have to expend time & $ to travel. Some of my child support is for stepchildren so I know a lot of negligent. Also this lady wants an active father from her husband but it doesn't work like that. He can't impose consequences like an active father, if he does her son will start to dislike him.

I feel the same way!! He married them both but as a FATHERING role dicipline is a must. Steve should have said talk about things that he is comfortable doing on the dicipline front and she can handle the things he dosnt want to do.
