Sis Bonny I took the lady's advice and approached a company to take me as an intern and guess what?? I will be starting at July/August. You don't know how life changing this is, they said I should familiarise myself with the Google ads certificate so I can be ready when the time come. Ohh may God kindly bless you.
This was so inspiring to watch, I graduated in Marketing back in 2016 and back then digital anything was not in the curriculum we were still talking aboma Billboards.😂I've also self-thought through freelance work, but I have always had the fear of not being good enough to work or even apply for a Marketing position in corporate, even with this Degree of mine thank God for leading me here, you ladies have honestly planted a huge seed of faith and optimism on me. I am Grateful❤
Very inspiring,I am in the same space ,currently managing a couple of small companies in the construction industry in Cape Town.Still waiting for the day to breakthrough at a national level.I really need VIP clients, companies with a big budget for Digital Marketing
This has empowered me even more, listening to Lesedi detailing her journey, realizing I've learned and got to practice all of these skills she mentions on my self. I added copywriting this year after feeling like there was a missing piece, in this whole puzzle.. And just when I was in my "finding clients era" I landed a opportunity from one of the High income skills I learn't last year that now forces me to master the art of getting clients, & approaching Agencies that will definitely give you an opportunity and pay you well also(another learning curve I'm grateful for) I'm happy to see women who have already walked this path representing it very beautifully like you guys 🙌 This was a pure Value
@@liferesetwithboni hi Sis, It's called High Ticket Remote Setting/Closing. There's no renowned course for it at the moment, besides buying a course from people who have done it or learning it on RU-vid (of which I did) and it's much popular in the US, UK or just internationally
Hi guys please help how to study and what do you do ,iam a mom of 3 not working and no matric trying to write my matric in my 40thirties,hope this will help me😢
This is truly insightful. I too studied the same certificate, and I want to make a breakthrough into digital marketing. I really like the idea of starting out by helping family and friends with their businesses inorder to strengthen your portfolio. If this young lady doesn't make you up your game, then I don't know!
Im also currently studying digital marketing as a higher certificate course for one year at Red and yellow creative business school, and i think i not taking it seriously as i should, thanks for this video as it has showed me that there are good opportunities inside the field of marketing
Red and Yellow is the best!!!! I also did my digital marketing course with themA the best in the business ! Are you currently working or doing some projects?
What a profound young lady. Bless you sis. This is such a motivation and as a person in Marketing as well, she spew the truth. Experience is really key. 🤗
Truly inspiring and wonderful to see. In the space struggling to get into the job market for now but up skilling myself trusting the process. All the best to the brilliant young lady and everyone.❤
Lovely interview Boni, you asked all the right questions. Yes, please do another video about digital marketing even if it's just a sit down by yourself, explaining. Also can you please interview someone who knows about the digital blue print thats been trending, I would like more info on that because the money they are making is crazy but the process is confusing.. Love and light to you my sister❤
Hey Nokwazi, the type of digital marketing that I'm familiar with and would like to expose my audience to is the digital marketing where you work or work for yourself, driving campaigns online , performing marketing functions on a daily basis. The trending one is something else that I'm not familiar with and I don't want to expose my audience to it cos I don't believe in it but don't want to get into why I don't cos It will sound like I'm critiquing the hustle of those who are selling courses. 😊
Heyy sis Boni , i just watched this video today💔😔 Thank God we have people like Lesedi and you who are willing to help others.❤️🙏🥰 I don't know if you recall but early last year you posted about a free Digital Marketing course in MANCOSA , i was able to do that and now i have my Digital Marketing certificate from MANCOSA , currently waiting for do that Visual Assistant from Alx that will start 05 August I am always will to learn new things can you please share all the link for the free courses she did.🙏🙏
Just shared this vid link with my partner to their whatsapp. The village always appreciate you Boni😊🎉 Been a subscriber since your channel was on 4k Subs
Sis Boni I'm a very small business owner and i really enjoyed todays episode, my question is, do you have any recommendations for a part time marketing strategist that won't cost me an arm and a leg?
It's always better if they approach you cos they would have seen an opportunity in your business, like how we explained in the video. Maybe do a once Consultation.
Very informative video, I really liked it because I've been thinking about taping into digital marketing. Back in 2022 I did try to be a social media manager for MUA and it went okay. She wanted engagement on her Instagram. I think the challenge was producing content, I would give her content ideas but not all were acted upon and sometimes she would forget to take content. In such a scenario (which I hope it has enough details for to answer the question) what tips would you give for the both of us. Now here are my questions based off from the video: 1. What does it look like to be a social media manager, say I want to sell my services like Lesedi. Does it mean I have to have all the social logins for my clients social accounts? 2. Which one is better, to be an in-house digital marketer or to have a digital marketing business?
1.Not really, serious clients will have social media tools that allow you to access the accounts without logging in, but if it's a small business, they might not want to pay for this service. 2. When starting out and looking for experience, you might struggle to get work as you know how things work in SA , so I would suggest you take her advice and start doing , once you have some experience even 1 year and proper portfolio, you can apply for Junior Roles.
Hey girl! Yes love Boni’s answer. I would say: 1. If you want to sell your services it’s best to work for small businesses that are in the products market. Not those who sell services. That’s what worked best for me. Approaching small and big businesses that I could see are inconsistent with posting. I dm them and tell them about my services. Out of every 50 people I messaged I only got one response 🥲 but you have to keep going. As soon as you have your first client then they can refer you to other business owners they know. That will help you build and start working for more than one client. Go take a look at the packages bigger agencies sell and make a small version of that for less money. Even getting paid R500 is a start, because it’s a form of income. The bigger you grow, the more you’ll earn
2. The best path for me was to start my own thing and with the experience from that go into working in-house. Marketing is so vast! You can be working in-house but for an agency where you work on multiple accounts. You also have to take into account what your skill set actually is. Is it’s designing posts and sharing them? Can you be their photographer, editor, website person and the one that’s schedules the post, while also responding to all the comments? Everyone defines social media manager differently. Some roles require you to be very niche while others require you to wear many hats.
Hello Lesedi I’m very inspired by your story. I’m Also currently studying Social media management & advertising specialist short course. I wanted to find out if possible what services were you offering the time you open your inkosazana studio? And how did you market your services to find clients. Did you have a website? And how did you develop your website. Can you please also recommend on how one can go about learning copywriting skills, I heard mention it on the video. I’m sorry for asking a lot of questions 🙏
Hello !❤️😊 So I can’t list all the services but I started small, and built up my services. I was offering, different packages, that varied with how many posts I’d create, how many comments I’d respond to, how often I’d post ect. Please go look at what other online agencies are offering, they have their price lists on their pages. Later I moved to offering photography and videography. I marketed with word or mouth, a website and dming at least 50 clients daily on Instagram. You have to be hungry and dm many many many people! Ask bigger agencies to collaborate as well, you’ll find that they can outsource work to you. I learnt my copywriting skills in the work place? I had a job at a company that required me to write 90 -100 every month. Naturally I got accustomed to writing copy in a certain style and practicing that skill. 🙃 I hope my answer helped ❤️
Wooow am inspired. If i do the marketing with my own business and study that course will it give me something tangible that i can apply for marketing jobs?
I did Facebook marketing course and i can say i can work around it.If both of you beautiful ladies can assist me with guidance.what should i focus on from where i am going forward
Hi Ziyanda, send me your CV. I can guide you, okay? Cos right now I don't know what you have and don't have. Also, note that a portfolio displaying what you have done is key 🔑 companies want to see the results not the certificate while it's a nice yo have. Xaba.bonisile@gmail.com
@tshepisosebogonyane3151 Hii My Software Engineering I Did At Alx Africa, Google Data Analytics I Did At Coursera, And My Social Media And Digital Marketing I Did It At Hubspot Academy
Hello, i just subbed thank you for this important info. I am studying Digital marketing 1st year with Rosebank college. I am a bit clueless of what digital marketing entails. what department/role in digital marketing is more lucritive interms of pay. Even though i am still studying i already want to get employed and start working what is your advice ladies on how to start or where to start?
Hello, I think we did specify what you can do in the video . The ones that pay more are SEO and PPC, but I didn't go into details about it in this video. You can search on linked what those jobs require. Search : Seo specialist and PPc Specialist jobs on LinkedIn. About experience, it is clear on the video on what you need to do .
Yes to add on what’s sis boni said, the company you work for is also very important. If you work for an international company you can make a lot more money than someone working in the same position at a SA company.
I'm 19 currently doing my first year at Rosebank college and I'm doing a diploma in digital marketing and that will take me 3 years to complete. I knew about the free short courses but I couldn't tell my dad ngoba he just wanted to see me in a higher institution this year. After hearing her story sis Boni I feel like I'm waisting my time ngoba I'm also kinda struggling at school kunama modules I feel like they are so unnecessary 😢 Do you think I must just do a certificate on Alison and just pay R350 or must my dad keep on paying R3k every month please advise me on what to do
Hi, you need to finish your diploma, your dad is right. There is no need to rush to start working. If he is happy to pay, let him pay. Even if you do short courses and get a job , you will still want to do a diploma or degree later in your life, so why not do it now while you are young with no responsibilities? I checked your course, and all the modules are relevant. You have to do it. What you can do at the moment is Google free courses and start building a portfolio while you are studying. Do not quit school.
Yes as sis Boni said, stay in school because you will eventually have to do it anyways 😊❤️ having a diploma to back your knowledge will be so beneficial one day. Stick it out and do your best!
Hi Boni please help a sister out i have no idea on how to start,i really need to try this as a housewife to have an income also of my own wvwn if its lillte its ok for me.thanks in advance
I've just finished my matric and I want to pursue a career in digital marketing. So I will be enrolling at Digital school of marketing for a digital marketing course, I would like to ask lesedi how to get overseas job opportunities
