@PhotographersOnUTube I've already joined your Facebook page sir.. I'll check all your discussions there and tutorials.. It's just I don't have a camera yet. We just moved in to a new house so all the resources I have went there. I will get one as soon as I have the money again.. I just want to congratulate you for your successful videos. They helped me a lot even though I have not yet started my photography side. Just by watching them makes me feel that I'm already good in photography...lol..

This is great that you answered me back. I really appreciate that. I shot a bunch of portraits this weekend in a park we have here locally and with the D5000 on some of the shots there was a dark ring around some of the pictures like it was the polarizer filter or something it was seeing on the end of the lens. Not sure if it happened to be the light coming in wrong around the lens or what. Have you ever had that happen? Thanks so much for the videos helps a lot.

@PhotographersOnUTube I'm so sorry for confusing you. I mean it's extremely under exposed. I wondered why I shoot in the same setting (shutter speed 125, f3.5, iso 640) in A mode and M mode, but the images are totally different. The image in M mode is extremely under exposed, whereas it's very good in A mode. I thought that with the same setting, the images should be the same, right? or this is just the way that M mode works? Thanks a lot for your advice, I've learned so many things from you..

@jonilax Prime lens are lens with a fixed focal length (which means the number can't be changed). In other words, you can't zoom in or out with a prime lens like you can with zoom lens. Prime lens typically has better quality optics than that of a zoom lens which = better quality pictures. It costs a lot less too. In your case, prime lens does a better job at "blurred background" (or Brokeh) as well as portrait and everyday use, compared to a zoom lens. The "expensive" zoom lens are just as good

so i zoom my camera lens out with my hand to say 75ml for example before i walk up to my subject to attempt to get a focus lock on them by half pressing down on the shutter button is that correct ,if i cant get them to focuslock due to being too close do i just back up as you say and re try to get a focus lock on them until i do and am happy with how the shot is composed

Thanks for your reply Jibran. I am bit confused with your statement 'larger the distance, the shallower the depth of field ' When I use the depth of field calculator , it shows that the depth of field is 7.01 centimeter with Aperture 55, crop factor 1.5x, focus length 55 and distance from object 1 meter. When I change the distance from object as 2 meter and keeping all the value same , the depth of field changes to 28.96 centimeter. so how the depth of field is shallower with larger distance?

@PhotographersOnUTube Today I was shooting outdoor in Manual Mode with the same setting, and this time the images are fine, not black anymore. Then, I came back to shoot indoor in my bedroom with that setting, the images are black again. Do you have any ideas what can be the reasons for this? Was it because I use kit lens? PS. In Aperture Mode, the images are great either in outdoor or indoor. Thank you so much, I really appreciate your time. Cheers!!

@cassey05 The 50mm f1.8 is a good and cheap lens that blurs the background. Check out reviews of it on RU-vid.

Hi! I am an ameteur photographer and I've been seeing videos about composition, framing, etc. I like your videos, thanks for sharing. Now, If I may critique your portrait of the young couple with the baby: I like the mother smile and the fact that the father (let's hope so ;-) ) no looking to the camera. What I don't quite like is that you cut the mother's elbow and a baby foot. I think you could've lowered the angle of the camera to avoid that. For some reason I've read cutting is not good.
