Yes, at first it's surprising that a guy of high stature like Diljit who addresses Dilshad Akhtar and Veerender as 'ji' along with their names while referring to artists being killed in one of the podcasts, refers to Amar Singh Chamkila as just Chamkila as if he is some random ordinary artist. A. R. Rahman rightly referred to him in a respectful manner

Diljit is an artist a singer so is Chamkila and they belong to same State. Unlike Rehman. So makes sense Diljit addressing Chamkila without 'ji'.
