I'm willing to bet it was pretty obvious for them to see who TJ is/was when the cameras weren't around and everything. Conor calling him a snake in the grass always makes me chuckle
@@jarnold1789 jokes aside, Conor is actually good at reading people. he's the first one to figure out TJ and nobody believed him until TJ did the inevitable.
Dom Cruz is one of the pound for pound greatest to ever do it, great wrestling with a smart style and sharp stabbing punches he cleaned out that division. His only flaws were a habit of dipping his head down after some exchanges, which caused him to eat some kicks, occasional punches, and knees *(Cody, Cejudo, and TJ)* and maybe his admitted bad diet and overtraining which caused him to get hurt.
I still think Demetrious is the best Bantamweight despite his loss to Dom. Dom had no answer for Demet, but quickly realised that his height advantage made it easy for him to take him down
@@robmcfadden3394 Height has everything to do with takedowns, especially against the cage. When shorter fighters try to defend against it The taller fighter can reach out to the legs and completely fold them with not much hassle compared to the shorted fighter who has to fight for his hands to be free and also reach for the legs
Whether you think he won this fight or not (I personally scored it for TJ by a super narrow margin but you can't really be mad if people score it for Cruz), this was an insane fucking achievement, not just in MMA but in sports period. After 4.5 years with only 1 minute of octagon time, and both torn ACLs and plantar fasciitis and a broken rib, Cruz somehow returns and performs like this against a next generation fighter who just dominated the #2 p4p guy (Renan Barao had a 35 fight win streak, even longer than Khabib's), is breathtaking. It's just as impressive as Ali coming off his layoff to beat George Foreman. Cruz is a legend for those who know how to watch the sport.
I scored it for Cruz. I don’t mind people who disagree but TJ cried way too much acting like it was a robbery. Machida Shogun 1 is a robbery, this is a close narrow fight.
@@rareform6948 Exactly. People use 'robbery' to describe results they disagree with, rather than actually egregious or fixed results. Close fights exist and are hard to score, that's what happens when top fighters face each other.
7:17 the fucking TOUGHNESS OF THIS DUDE. his first instinct was to fire back. and it totally worked. IQ with GUTS is what fucking Dom is. holy shit what a guy
This was peak Dominick Cruz mindgames at work. He always had a response for anything TJ had to say. Fight was close but Cruz took it, coming off a long layoff no less.
Just wanted to say I came across your channel and it’s such a great educational source for ppl like me who have just gotten into UFC the last 5-6 years. I’ve learned so much watching all of these videos. Let’s go!
Cruz made the greatest comeback in UFC History. I’ll never forget the night he beat TJ. One of the most exciting moments I’ve ever experienced as a fan.
Cruz has been finished only once that time and it was a guillotine choke from Uriah back in WEC. he's one of the few guys who are elusive af but can take a hit. most guys who knows from their elusiveness cannot take a massive hit.
Yeah TJ you are a great role model for the youngsters showing them how to take drugs and disrespect athletes ,ruining the beautiful game ,you should be proud of yourself
Dominik is So damn underappreciated as what he did as champ, Injury ruined his longevity, but at this time he seemed untouchable, Cody did until he didn’t as well
@@jonadams1235 Respect to you. I always find these sort of comments cringe 😬, that’s someone’s wife, girlfriend, sister etc.... We as men need to calm down sometimes.
truly the most unique and one of the most effective styles in mma history dominick is a great. I still think highly of TJ's skills even though hes a cheater
Dom is one of my favorite fighters, and i used to dislike TJ big time. But TJ has grown on me a lot. I hope he does well in the future coming now that hes back from his suspension.
Not now man doms not the same fighter anymore unfortunately and the Henry fight showed this really. I'd love to see cody and tj again maybe after the 2 of them have another fight or 2! Cody at Mark Henry's gym more then anything he's seemed alot more mentally better! If he fights like he did again dom cody is in the top 3 bamtomweights in my opinion
Just looking at Dominick Cruz sitting next to Travis Brown you wouldn't know that was a heavyweight next to a Bantamweight. They almost look the same size
TJ Dillashaw could be a replacement as a sparring partner. he's the copycat of Dominick Cruz but just hits harder than him. exact reason why he couldn't hit Cruz clean because it's Cruz' moves and style.
