I get severe tingling in my hands and feet, heart palpitations, headache, and depression. I seem to be one of those people that can't tolerate most of the BP medications. I feel like I'm getting on my cardiologist's last nerve.
@@alxra Nope. I'm still in the struggle. I'm now seeing a pharmacist (tomorrow is our second appointment) I'm currently taking Nifedipine 30mgs and Spironolactone 25mgs and I'm still having horrible side effects. Mainly extreme fatigue, moody, headaches, and nausea. But random swelling in my hands and right foot, sharp pain in my right (I think it's my liver) comes and goes. I notice my bp has become worse too. But here's something interesting that happened. I tried the SuperBeet Heart Chews for two days and I saw my blood pressure go down tremendously. It scared the crap out of me! I'm so used to seeing it at 150/90 *with meds* but it was 120/78 on the second day!!!! I will ask the pharmacist about that during my visit tomorrow. I think I'm gonna see if she and my cardiologist can take me off the meds and I give the red beets a try instead.
Diagnosed with premature ventricular contractions (PVC) from viral infection many years ago. ICD implanted and prescribed Metropolol 4 years ago. Side affect lethargy, no energy. 8 months ago changed to Nebivolo, effect was frankly awful, persistent mild chest pain, diahorrea, nightmares. 2 months ago Doctor in hospital ED stopped Nebivolo, back on Metropolol. Cardiologist changed medication to Diltiazem, now no lethargy, more alert with some balance problem. Able to do moderate work in garden.
Am taking 300 mg for 3 weeks now. I was prescribed by my cardiologist for BP and to relax the heart rate, my heart rate before drug was ok like resting in mid 70. After 3 weeks my life turned upside down. I was active in the summer I used to bike 2hr a day on average, in the winter I could make 8000 steps a day with no problem. No I can’t, I get easily shortness of breath and am so depressed even sexually. Am hating my life now, I ended in the ER on New Year’s Eve however it turned out a panic attack as they found nothing in the heart nor blood test. Am taking cresttor 40mg too. Please Doc. if you have any ideas what is going on with me.
Hi LKChaqui, sorry to hear you are feeling terrible. If your symptoms started when you started the diltiazem, then u should definitely talk to your doc about the side effects and see if he or she could try you on something else. Most people tolerate diltiazem ok, but I definitely have some patients who feel altogether poorly on it. Best wishes.
I took 180 er for 2 yrs. and no problems.. but a new prescription refill was 3 pills in a capsule instead of the granules the whole thing will hit me at once!.. I get VERY faint and dizzy and cannot stand up!.. my doctor refused to renew a different prescription (type/brand) and I'm stuck with not having anything to help.
lve taken diltizem for years now im on 60mg 2 tabs in the morning and evening, the side effects I suffer is swollen feet ankles legs and stomach, I hate it because I have to buy special shoes. plus I take a low dose of steriod for my severe asthma and ive had nasty side effects with those. it sucks .
I’m on it now, I hate it! I gave birth to twins June 12th and my blood pressure went up. The only thing I hate about it is the Lightheadedness/Dizziness it last like 12 hours but by than I’m tired from taking care of the kids what do the use for dizziness?
Hi doc. I had high heart rate and was taking to the hospital to rule out heart attack. Was discharged confirmed no heart attack. And to follow up with a cardiologist. One cardiologist wanted me to be on Cardizem and other cardiologist swears that it’s wrong and I should be on Metoprolol… I don’t take any other medicine. Have some issues with vascular lower leg (valves not working on veins)… my regular BP varies from: 96/65 to 120/80. Stress test didn’t showed anything wrong. During test heart rate 165 and bp 235/100. 5 min test. Illiac vein showed MRI 60-65% stenosis. Angiogram CT scan: no calcification, 2 arteries had 25% narrowing but doc said nothing needed. Doc, any idea? And also, medication why 2 cardiologist can’t have same medication?
@@rhysheathcote3984 very seldom BP was 140/95. But, mostly yes, 110/85. Once was 88/58. One of them said that I can’t take Diltiazem, and should take low dose 2x25mg Metroprilol which won’t affect BP, but only heart rate
I am a male person. My age Is 26. I am hypertensive and a had a bit palpitation when i get nervous or anxious. I am taking olmesartan medoxomil 40 mg once in a day and bisoprolol fumarate 2.5 mg twice in a day. Now my blood pressure is under control but I get mentally fatigued. That is why i Don't get any spirit to do my work. A clinician by tele medicine has suggested me to take diltiazem 90 mg once in day in stead of bisoprolol. Would you please suggest me which drug should i take. I Don't want to take beta blocker no more. My kidney function is okay. I have no any known cause behind my blood pressure. Please help me to choose the proper drug..My current medications are olmesartan medoximil 40 mg once in day and bisoprolol fumarate 2.5 twice in day. Please help me to change beta blocker with another medication.
I’m currently on diltiazem I was on Bisoprolol before this and omg my heart has been thru the roof like 80-90 resting 100 when I walk I think I might go back on Bisoprolol this diltziam doesn’t seem to be as efficient as Bisoprolol
@@LittleGalaxy08 Bisoprolol is a good drug but it makes me mentally fatigued that's why i want to change this medication.why did YOU change Bisoprolol?
istiak Ahmed I changed it because I think it’s messing up my breathing like shortness of breath but I think I’m having the same Symptoms on the diltiazem I haven’t had problems with the Bisoprolol until I got Covid-19 it’s been 2 months since I got COVID and I’m still having breathing troubles so now I’m starting to think that it’s covid again and it’s not the Bisoprolol give me shortness of breath I just don’t no I can’t figure it out I’m really just ready to die I’m so tired of suffering
istiak Ahmed I no that’s the issue but it helps me that’s the weird thing and my oxygen level is always in the mid 90s the pulmonary dr did several breathing test I had xrays they all come Back good I don’t no what else to do my doctor doesn’t no what else to do either we tried everything I’m now having headaches I’m in real bad condition but the bloodwork and everything else says I’m ok I can’t figure out what it is
It was surprising for me to learn people double the dose then cut the pill in half to reduce medication cost. I was surprised mostly because my doctor mentioned this to me. 😝
Yeah you can do that with the short acting tablets but it is unusual for people to be on those because u have to take it three times a day. People probably get confused because it is ok with the short acting tablets but not the long acting stuff
Spin around 5 times anticlockwise, on the 5th spin make sure you’re left hand is on your left knee and your right pinky is on your nose. 5 jumps to the left, 9 jumps to the right and you’re all set.
i took diltiazem SR 90 mg twice , it causes palpitation ad it control heart rate only in supine , one i stand my heart start to race. what is the cause please . with warm regard
