I am also 60 and have been addicted since late 2019. Love watching newcomer reactions. I drive a lot for work and mostly have Dimash on all day listening to reaction videos. Was so privileged to attend his latest concert in Malaysia in June. To get videos passed also interrupt a few times during watching, it is annoying but it does the trick - Dears are used to it. Dimash is going to perform with Placido Domingo and will be a judge on the classical reality show Vituoso in Hungary next year with Domingo. Subscribed. 🇦🇺

Adagio was the 6th performance of The Singer competition in China in 2017. A really beautiful song❤️. A song that Lara Fabian (a Belgian-Canadian singer) has already sung and also written the lyrics for. Dimash has always been a great admirer of Lara. But Dimash takes this song to another level. Every time, I see this performance I forget to breathe and get goosebumps all over my body. The emotions that Dimash sends out with this performance literally hit me physically every time🤯. And you can see that I’m not the only one. This is so emotional because he literally sang for survival as he was almost voted out on the last episode on Uptown Funk. That's why he had to give everything at Adagio. I love his outfit with his blue suit and white shoes. If you watch several videos of him, you will see that he often falls on his knees during many of his performances. So a Dear gave him knee pads as a gift. I don’t think he wore them on stage though. Although he has certainly gotten one or two bruises😂. What I love about the Chinese competitors is that they don’t behave like competitors. Everyone wishes everyone luck. Everyone watches the other’s performance. Clap, sing along. In my opinion, no one begrudges the success of another. They might not have taken Dimash seriously at first, but that quickly changed after SOS. Through ist honest, cheerful and open nature, he found friends very quickly. Contacts that still exist today. Especially to Terry Lin. Just for fun, Terry adopted Dimash and Dimash named him Papa Lin. Do not be fooled. Terry is older than he looks. He was 50 years old then. They performed together on stage and sang Dimash’s song Unforgettable Day together. They visit each other when they can and send each other birthday greetings. Igor Krutoy is a famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship. Olimpico is another masterpiece that Igor Krutoy wrote especially for Dimash’s vocal skills (like so many others). It was written for the 2nd European Games in Minsk, Belarus 2019. And that’s why the lyrics are also very motivating. This song and this performance from this Arnau concert is my absolute favorite🥰 I think this version is the best, because his performance is so intense and breathtaking. The light show, the background dancers. Everything. With this song in this version I always get breathlessness. The way he represents himself on stage, the hand movements. I think he has incredibly beautiful hands🤭(and apparently many cameramen think so too, since many of the camera shots during his performances very often only show his hands. Sometimes it seems as if he is conducting himself. This is really fascinating). And the facial expression, the look. There he looks so commanding😱. In my opinion, this version of Olimpico is one of the most impressive performances ever. Yes, this performance was almost 7 years ago when Dimash was almost 23. In Stranger he was 27. He’s currently 29. The Singer in China is not like The Voice. It’s a competition for already famous professional Chinese singers who are invited by the producers to take part. The 500 strong audience are all from the music industry and they are the judges during the whole of the 14 part season. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner to take part and the youngest to ever compete at 22 years old as someone dropped out. Sadly as it was a state run competition he wasn’t allowed to win but he was given 2nd place (he wasn’t expected to make it past the 2nd week, but the first two weeks he was placed first! With Adagio (week 6) he also got first place. The contestants are only allowed to do one of their own songs during the 14 week competition, the rest have to be covers and they have to make the song their own. The song Adagio is Lara Fabian’s (she’s one of Dimash’s idols when he was growing up, you should react to her, she’s incredible), and IMO I think Dimash did it better than Lara (Lara ‘s version is also amazing though)! Dimash’s childhood dream came true when he got to perform with her in 2019. You can tell he has learned a lot from Lara over the years with the story telling that she is a master of. Of course, after the competition Dimash became a superstar in both in China (he still is!), and all around the world. On the first episode his performance of SOS was downloaded 600 million times!

He got a “6” with Bruno Mars’ Uptown Funk the last round, and knew he had to sing his heart out on Adagio. He did, and was exhausted after. He collapsed onto the sofa in the competitors’ viewing room. He got a #1, first place, for Adagio.
Just the tip of the iceberg. A couple of years ago famous composer Igor Krutoy composed a new version of Ave Maria just for Dimash. The song has no lyrics, just his voice. It is magical. It is mesmerizing and you will have goosebumps all over. Yes, Dimash videos get blocked but usually if you make them transparent or filter them it will allow you to proceed. Worth a try on any and every Dimash performance. Saw him in New York live in 2019. 3 hour concert seemed like 30 minutes. We would have stayed all night long if he continued.

Those are the words "he gives me hope" that I said myself when I heard him 7 years ago for the first time, he hadn't yet acted on "the singer" which is a program in China not like "the voice " because this program is only for professional singers. Yes, he gives us hope and will continue to do so and show that there are still true singers. Thanks. For me he's just the best voice there is right now. Point. This was from I Am Singer in China 2017. He was invited as a wild card and the youngest competitor at that stage. Other competitors were all established professional artists in China.

Technically this is 5+ weeks after the first one you looked at. SOS was episode 1, this was episode 6 of the Singer Season 5. This is a Lara Fabian song. He did change it a little for the show. The I am a Singer wants you to take other people's songs and change it. Just like SOS, that is not how he originally sang the song before this show. You need to place a filter on Stranger to get it to be viewable on RU-vid.
Recommendations: “Stranger” done in English, and Olimpico (Ogni Pietra) in Italian, are both composed by Igor Krutoy for Dimash. Both are more recent .
I’m in my 60s, and I’ve never reacted to a singer like I react to Dimash. After watching a Dimash performance in any language, I always seem to need to release a deep breath.
He's been a huge fan of Lara Fabian since he was 9 yrs old - and this is a song she wrote and is well known for. I think he's about 23 here (he's 29 now.)

He’s 22 at this performance of the I Am Singer Competition in 2017 where he came in second. The following year he returned as a guest and sang a Queen Medley with the Super Vocal Boys.

I noticed he didn't change the gender in the song, but I wonder if it was because Dimash didn't speak English at that time & was unaware. (Just surmising). Yes he is younger. This was in 2017 on The Singer show when he was 22. He was also learning Chinese & English while on this show, so on times his English isn't perfect, but that doesn't take away from his performances. Thank you for your great reaction 😊🙏💕
Adagio by Albinoni (reputably) was adapted by Lara Fabian . Dimash is quite inspirational and has his role models, including Lara Fabian. He participated in a trio with Lara and the soprano Aida Garifiulina called Ti Amo Cossi. I’m a few years younger but I agree that Dimash gives me hope for the future! Cheers!
It was about a month after the SOS performance you saw earlier, and part of the same Chinese show series Singer 2017, which is a singer contest for established artists. He was a wildcard from outside China that year, and finished second overall in the final. A lot depended on the song choices in the rounds, and Dimash was up against a very popular Chinese song it the final itself. Adagio was probably one of his best performnces in the contest and he won that week. Incredibly he is even better now, especially since he has beefed up his lower register. Pretty much anything you watch by him will impress you. He's one of those artists who, like Ren, always deliver.
