Hi guys! I thought it was about time to change it up a bit and react to a different singer which ended up being Dimash. I haven't heard such an incredible vocal range on a male singer ever in my life!Hope you like it!

He is 24 years old kazakh boy. from Kazakhstan. (during competition 23 years old) In 2017 he participated to "I'm singer" competition in China which sustained 14 rounds. Overall he came 2nd however deserved 1st place more than a winner. After 1st and 2nd round his popularity sharply increased. His performances (I'm Singer): 1. SOS (french song - Danielle Balavoine)😍😍😍😍😍 2. Opera 2 (russian song - Vitas)🙉🙉🙉🙉🙉(you really need to close your ears) 3. The Show must go on (english - Queen)😮😮 4. Autumn Strong (chinese song - watch it with "story behind the song" - it will help you feel the music)👸😍 5. Uptown Funk (english - Bruno Mars)😎💃 6. Adagio (english - Lara Fabian)😍😍😍😍😍 7. Daididau (one of kazakh national folk song)👑👑 8. Daybreak (chinese - watch it with "story behind the song" - it will help you feel the music)😔😢😟 9. Unforgettable Day (kazakh+chinese) (he composed this song and before competition translated to chinese)😍😍😍😍😍 10. All by myself (english) 😎😍 11. Confessa+The Diva Dance (italian, alien song) - (semifinal) 12. He automatically passed to final at previous round. So he didn't perform any song at this round) 13. Tribute to MJ (wow, Michael Jackson😎😎😎- (final) 14. Give me love (kazakh - beautiful song) 😍😍😍😍😍(without any high notes😀😅) *In 2018 he came to the same competition as a guest: 1. Hello (english - Lionel Richie) (amazing😍) *Performances out of competition (he had several amazing concerts, however i will write you only part of them): 1. The Crown 2. Daybreak ("Bastau concert") 3. Unforgettable day ("Gakku concert") 4. Sreaming 5. etc. Enjoy your journey to the world of Dimash!!! P.S. Thank you so much for this! Really nice to get to know a little bit more about him and his career as a singer! I didn't know he had entered so many competitions- that's really cool! The list really helps me figure out what to react to, so thank you so much again! A lot of people have suggested "SOS" for my next reaction video, so i think i'm gonna give that one a go! :)

Actually he was only 22yrs old all the way through Singer competition which ended in April 2017, he was 23 on the 24th May 🙂

In addition to genetic advantages he has been working on all aspects of music performance all his life, beginning with piano lessons and vocals at the age of 5. He has been offered lead in Astana Opera House, but declined. He felt pop career is more interesting to him. Please react to Dimash singing SOS.

Thank you for this- nice to know a little bit more about him! You have to be born with the vocal abilities he has, but it sure takes a lot of discipline and vocal training to get access to all the facets of his voice and gain the control that he has! I've seen a lot of people suggesting "SOS", so i definitely wanna do that one for my next reaction video! :)

He was brought up by professional musicians and also apparently has extra long vocal chords so can reach the ranges he does.

Thank very much! That's very true- it;s nice to find a male singer that is in So Hyang's league when it comes to singing! I've gotten a lot of suggestions of "SOS", so really wanna do that one next! :)

Dimash is certainly one-of-a-kind. He currently has a live vocal range of F2-D8 (5 octaves, 4 notes). His chest voice reaches up to B5 (So Hyang's can reach 2 notes higher up to a C#6), his head voice spans from the 4th octave up to an F6 (as opposed to So Hyang's A6), and he has a whistle register that allows him to reach D8, which is one of the highest notes ever sung by a human being. His voice covers virtually all the voice types thanks to 20 years of voice training, but he is naturally a countertenor. He can also play 5 instruments and has shown the ability to sing in 9 different languages. He's right up there with So Hyang in my opinion, and you should definitely react to more of him. Check out his performance of "SOS" next.

Skyler Powers Isn't he a tenor? I personally think he surpasses So Hyang! His vocal range is better and I've heard her sing. It's my personal opinion and maybe it's because I'm defensive over my idol but I think she isn't as good as Dimash. He's inhumane😊

Jorgiaaa x Many think Dimash is a tenor too. It's really a subject of much debate. Some even like to insist he's a baritone. But it's hard for me to choose a favorite. Dimash certainly has a much larger range, but So Hyang has the better technique and the more consistent support. Dimash still strains at least sometimes. Both are pretty much equally versatile and agile with their voices, tone, and genre choices. I personally find it hard to pick a favorite as both are absolutely incredible in different ways. Dimash is more versatile, but So Hyang is my specialized and is just as amazing because of her upper register, which is easily the best in the world currently. After all, range isn't everything. I see both as being otherworldly singers that have different strengths and weaknesses, and it's pretty pointless to try to claim one is better than the other.

Skyler Powers Yeah, I understand that. It's more me being defensive with my idol. I heard him first and so I got offended when someone called So Hyang better😂 I need to be less defensive, I just think he's perfect. Everyone strains, everyone has trouble sometimes. If I only strained like him, I would be very happy with my voice. I think his vocal range gives him more of an opportunity, he can reach about an octave lover than So Hyang and also how much higher? An octave and four notes I think. It just gives him more opportunity. I think we should just call him most vocal types. The only one he isn't is bass, which is understandable. I'll listen to So Hyang to try and change my mind but I really think he is better. He's just my amazing idol😅🌹

Jorgiaaa x ughh... you can be defensive but right. I think dears should stop listening to other people. If we wanna know whether he really strains or not, we shoukd believe the experts, not random ppl on the internet. No offence to this other dear. But cmon emre already said dimash doesnt strain. And also... dimash has been studying vocals and learning to sing ever since he was 5. You would think he is not that stupid that he is skipping the first lesson : HOW NOT TO STRAIN. He has the best teachers and he is classically trained (which trains singers with good technique). Have you seen Marat teaching? He is really an expert. The bottom line is... don't be afraid to defend Dimash if you are right. Ask any professionals.... real ones... not random comment on youtube. Ask them whether Dimash is straining or not. He doesn't. Or else he wont survive almost 20 years singing his heart out. Unless he is really sick or something. But really... I have seen him singing more than 2 hours in his concerts and his vocals are still perfect until the end. 😥 Dimash is one of the best. He is amongst the singers with the best technique. Including So Hyang. So Hyang and Dimash both singers who have great technique. King and Queen. Best in the world. PERIOD 😊 Anyway, technique-wise they are up there neck to neck, but what attracts me more to Dimash is the fact that he is a guy. It is so rare for a guy to be able to hit those very high notes and also use a lot of different techniques (usually women are more versatile singers). That's why I am so amazed. I know a lot of great women singers (whitney, celine, mariah, so hyang, beyonce and so on) but men.... Dimash is the only one who can make me say WOW. 😊

D8_Squad Dimash certainly doesn't strain all the time. In fact, he has shown the ability to support up to A5 in chest voice. However, he strains once in a while below this point, and that's a clear fact. Sometimes he opens his vowels too far from his operatic OH and loses support and other times he goes for too much of a chesty mix and his larynx slams up into his throat, also causing strain. And his B5s are brief, tense, and probably aren't supported. Dimash is still phenomenal though and his technique is still excellent. He just has some minor issues with occasional straining, but some say it's intentional. But besides this occasional straining, his technique is flawless. That's why So Hyang has better technique, even if it's only slightly better. So Hyang basically NEVER strains. She has a full understanding of her mix and her vowels, and has the best upper belts in the world as a result. Don't get me wrong, Dimash can belt very well, but So Hyang is clearly superior due to her near flawless support and her much higher resonance. But it's not surprising she'd be able to do this better since she's a full fledged soprano. Dimash has a much larger range and 9.5/10 technique, while So Hyang is just so amazing at upper register and head voice and has 10/10 technique. So I don't think one is better than the other. One is more broad but has slightly worse technique. One is less broad but has better technique. I understand why both of you would prefer Dimash, but you can't really say that he's better than So Hyang. They are different vocalists with different strong suits. And besides, both are world class vocalists with near flawless technique. In fact, I'd say they're currently the top 2 in the world.

I agree! I've watched countless professionals react to Dimash and never have I ever seen someone say he was pitchy. He is pitch perfect basically every time he sings!😊

Jorgiaaa x TV edited versions can make him sound pitchy though... I have been fooled sometimes too. I have to admit in some performances (VERY FEW) I thought he missed a little, but then I saw the fancams and they were pitch perfect!! I think the TV edited versions really cause him more harm than good 😥 and they were laggy at times 😔

A lot of people have suggested "SOS", so i think i'm gonna look into that one next! The fact that he can hit a D8 is crazy and not human,wow! It might just be the edited version then, i'll have a look at a fancam video of this performance! :)

D8_Squad I agree! It's such a shame. In his recent live performances of Screaming, I was getting worried. I thought he was tiring himself out to the point he was damaging his voice but then he comes back with All By Myself and SOS like his voice has gotten stronger. I was relieved!😊

I think you're right! It takes a lot for me to truly be mesmerized by a singer, but he really blew me away with this performance! Nana Nana there is no order in my top 3 even top 10. all of them deserve 1 st place) however, my favorite ones: Adagio SOS Confessa Diva dance Unforgettable day Daybreak Okinish (his new song, i loved that song immediately when i've listened it) Give me love Screaming OMG it is too difficult to write top 5. i think i don't have even my top 10😅 all of his songs are my favorite ones.

I did not notice any pitch in his voice. But that is me. It is very surprising to hear it for the first time since a lot of vocal coaches that listened and reacted to him have not said anything about being pitchy. I do encourage you to listen and react to his 2017 The Singer competition. Thank you for your reaction.

Thank you for watching and commenting! I've had a few comments challenging my comment on him being a tiny bit pitchy and i am totally open to being wrong if that's the case. I just thought i heard him being a fragment off a couple of times and that was just me being a perfectionist and very critical watching the performance. Hi Cato, I take it this was your first Dimash experience, well, excellent reaction! He was a contestant on singer2017 and the performance you just saw was when he was invited back to singer 2018 as a special guest. He sang an epic song and took it to another level. If I subscribe to your channel you have to promise to react to more Dimash ...Deal? Just search YT "Singer 2017 - Dimash - Ep1" and just keep going up episode by episode, you will get even more amazed. Also there are lots of stuff to see since then, so off you go on your Dimash journey!! 👌👍😊

Cato - I love your reaction. And it is to my favorite singer! Thank you! So Hyang is the queen...Dimash is king... Liked, subscribed, notify on. Requesting more Dimash! The best thing about him is the passion he puts into his performances. He has absolute (a/k/a perfect) pitch so when he does go a little off, he can correct quicky. BTW at the end he says "I love you" in Mandarin, then again in Kazakh (where he is from), then whispers "Thank you very much" in Mandarin DKIFC/USA

Jorgiaaa x I am trying to learn some common phrases in Kazakh. In the event I meet Dimash some day, I want to be able to make a small effort in his language. There are several ways to say "I love you" and needless to say, it is one of the phrases I want to know LOL :D

What truly makes a singer “good “ or even GREAT isn't always in the technical expertise, but in the actual sound of that voice, the embracing of a lyrical story, a certain phrasing within those musical sentiments of a song, and then what they can do vocally to transfer and transport a listener to that intangible part of the human heart/spirit. Some people can open their mouths, and instantly, the God-given sound they make enraptures you. It is a kind of audio/sonic sorcery that can deliver goosebumps, or smiles of remembrance, or even tears. Dimash is a swan on a lake when singing...

Thank you very much for your comment! I 100% agree with you and that's what i'm looking for in an artist when I search for new people to listen to and react to! The technical aspect is what initially makes me interested straight away, but for me to be able to connect and follow a persons journey for a longer time, I need something more and deeper to relate to! It seems from what i watched in this performance and what I've read about him that he has a lot more to offer than what I've seen, so i'm really excited to continue this journey and watch more of him! :)

One time is always not enough, although each Dimash's song is love at the first listen. But it's necessary to listen to it again and again... It's amazing - to connect the west with the east like that! When the English "hello" sounds like a call from a minaret - it's almost a revolution in a single vocal piece! Azan of love. Elegant, beautiful and, unexpectedly, such a harmonious move. And the magic flute ... In the final of the song "Mен сені сүйемін" (men seni süyemin) - "I love you" in Kazakh. How does he do that? Somewhere the stars alinged in a right way, so that this boy came into this world, grew up and made us happy. It's just that he is music.

I am excited to watch more of him after seeing this performance for sure- he really blew me away and i've read that it only gets better and better the more you watch! I've never heard a male singer on this level before and it'll be nice to see more so i can connect and relate to him more as a person as well as a singer and experience all the wonderful things i read in the comment section about him! He's really amazing and after watching this performance i can't wait to watch more of him! I've read that, and that's the reason why i wanted to look into Dimash actually! So Hyang has an incredible range. Minor correction: Dimash is D2-D8, so six octaves. But it's not hitting the notes - it's HOW you hit them - without emotion it means nothing.

Regarding to your comments that you usually don't look at male singers, I don't know if anyone mentioned below, Dimash is the only I have ever heard male singer who can and do sing female range and it s not just falcetto but full bodied female soprano and whistle note and some higher than Mariah or Beyonce notes.

I think that's why i'm finding him so fascinating! His vocal range is just insane and he's truly special and unique. I haven't heard a male singer being able to sing like that ever, so i'm really excited to watch more of his performances! :)

Dimash can sing anything. The lowest up to the highest. He can also sing staccato in whistle tone......hardly many people can do that let alone from a man. Soh Yang is female so it's easier and understandable that she can sing high note......but extreme high note from a MAN?! That's none other than Dimash, of course! DKIFC/Malaysia.

It seems like he actually can sing anything for sure! He's so lucky being gifted with such and incredible instrument! Haven't heard a male singer that is able to sing like he does, nor have the vocal range that he does! I really think that So Hyang and Dimash are the king and queen of vocals! :)

About Dimash..and you just said he was not pitch perfect in places..There was serious vocal coaches which analysed this performance even in slow motion..never heard one saying that he was not pitch perfect or other faults..so this is not an argument but could you let us know where you think was not right...maybe if you listen again and with headsets it will be something else..again..no argument but I really want to know.

I just thought i heard him being a tiny, tiny bit pitchy a couple of times during the performance, but I am very open to being wrong if that's the case as well- It was just my thoughts in the moment and i really just wanted it to be an honest reaction. I was listening with a "microscope" and being quite critical as well. I didn't mean to offend anyone at all- I think he's absolutely amazing! To me, there's so much more to a singer than just the technical part which I think he really has- he's unique for sure! Thank you for the comment- I think it's great with constructive comments and questions! :)
