He is known as the Wings of Kazakhstan so that's why the jacket with wings. He often has wings somewhere in his concerts as a nod to his countries flag with the Gokden Eagle on it. Dimash sweats buckets in his concerts but only ever noticeable on his face. He always looks immaculate otherwise. He is saying Listen to the voice in Italian in that vocal fry. You should listen to the sung version as it's quite different, even so he does a spectacular vocalise at the end of the song too. Dimash often does Jazz imorov at the end of his concerts where he introduces all his band members and thanks the individually but musically, he is just so great. He really is the best in the world 💖

It was the last concert of his tour before the interruption due to Covid. He's at KIEV (march 2019). During the concert he sings a Ukrainian folk song (Marigold), taken "a capella" by the audience. His mother right in front of him in the front row is crying.

Dimash actually studied in Astana Kazakhstan National Art University majoring in Contemporary music (Jazz, Pop). I often recommend to learn about this song from Dimash by starting with the official music video, then the New wave performance from Moscow 2019 and then this one. It kind of shows how the song grows and changes. But sure, it really doesn`t matter: every performance is awesome on it`s own. A masterpiece. That`s how good he is. Stay safe.

I still think the best version of this for me is from his Moscow concert when he did this vocalise version the first time, despite the fact that there is just a fancam recording of it. But the camera is on him the whole time and is fascinating to see how his hands and fingers conduct his voice or play it as if it was a musical instrument or visualising what he was singing during nearly the whole song.

There is another version where he combines the song part with lyrics AND the vocalise together. Even as a non religious person, this is SO spiritual, transcendent, Divine......THAT SHOT OF THE WOMAN IN THE AUDIENCE WAS HIS DEAR MOM BY THE WAY :) SO PROUD I CAN JUST IMAGINE! I also really appreciate your comment on his emotional and color dynamic range, not just his vocal range. I watched most of a review you did on a singer, female, very nice and clearly loved by many....she did thru video shot....I didn't make a comment because of a lot of her fans loving comments....but I did think while it was well done in many ways, the volume dynamics and the color tone dynamics .... peak dynamics were attained pretty early in the song....and so all she could really do was just repeat that same "high" point or intensity in terms of vocal execution stylistically and in terms of volume dynamics with the colors pretty much even all thru out....and I find this with most singers frankly....its like there isn't any where to go if you do your stylistic thing early and your volume and color punch early.....then all you can do is repeat that same pattern, maybe with very slight differences, but pretty much the same for the next 3 punches in the song. but with DQ the colors and shades of color, volume dynamics, tonal texture, finesse and range is so wide...so many colors that it is so rich and captivating each time. ooo yes, I think of Dimash as the Micael Angelo, the Rembrandt of voice!

Dimash is university trained in Classical opera vocals to degree level, also holds a degree in contemporary pop music and jazz with a major in vocals, and recently he has finished his master degree in music composition. He planned to go to LA for his last semester but due to the pandemic was impossible. He mentioned during his interview with MTV (part II) he is considering to spend time in the US and it could be in LA I think, where the musical industry and jazz movement are very dinamic. 🎤🎧🎼

Dimash's concerts are 2 and a half hours long. He sings while running all over the stage and dancing too. He needs people standing by with towels, lol. This performance is always captivating. Dimash’s absolutely perfect pitch was noticed when he was 5 years old, he told a piano was out of tune and he himself was able to reproduce notes with perfect pitch aka absolute pitch. I think that’s one of the reasons to take out his ear piece. 🎤❤️👏🌹🔝🔝🔝
first time i heard this song was a few years ago sang by Lara Fabian called "Ascolta la Voce". Then i heard the version from Dimash "Know" where there is lyrics too and a official music video. And now this version what leans more on vocalized version from Lara. When he growls he say "ascolta la voce" ;)

I know many Russian shows will put the audio version when they do the post production work for Dimash performance so I will just watch fancam and know he sings it live for sure. You mentioned "scat singing", which I remember because I was born in the US in the 1940's and remember hearing scat singing in jazz improvisations that I listened to with my parents. When I discovered the "vocalise" in concept, and here in Dimash's performance, that possible kinship occurred to me. I absolutely LOVE this. Great reaction! He sings this vocalize a little bit differently in every concert. If I'm not mistaken, the original version composed by I.Krutoy and sung by Lara Fabian had only vocalize. Later, the words were added by a poet for Dimash to sing it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rUSvj8UvFLo.html Then, in his concerts he started to sing the vocalize version of it (which is different than the original). He also has a beautiful MV to this song.
@@Chabtung the VTB one is also prerecorded. both performances are fully prerecorded probably because they were big events and televised too. his versions in his Arnau tours are live because they're his own concerts. (the Victoria Music Awards performance and the WOW arena performance of this song are both live too, both of them are my favourite versions)
A lyrics version is recommended to see from where he developed this vocalise version. Good lyrics versions are from New Wave 2019 or from the concert for Igor Krutoy's 65th birthday at the VTB arena in Moscow.
