Thank you for reacting to Dimash again. I love this song and it's a good performance. But the best performance of Adagio is the one from The Singer competition 2017 in China and he also plays the piano there. There is no version which is better than this one. In this version Dimash takes this song to another level. A really beautiful song❤️. A song that Lara Fabian (a Belgian-Canadian singer) has already sung and also written the lyrics for. Dimash has always been a great admirer of Lara. The emotions that Dimash sends out with this performance literally hit me physically every time🤯. And you can see there that I’m not the only one. I love his outfit with his blue suit and white shoes. If you watch several videos of him, you will see that he often falls on his knees during many of his performances. So a Dear gave him knee pads as a gift. I don’t think he wore them on stage though. Although he has certainly gotten one or two bruises😂. Thanks, Jen, for returning to Dimash. There are, indeed, numerous versions of his "Adagio" out there, and I tend to agree with those who name the one from Singer 2017 as their favorite. It may not be technically his best, but the raw emotion that he displays in that version makes it stand out to me. I also agree with those who reference Lara Fabian. Her live performance in "From Lara With Love" is incomparable. Watch her and see how and why she influenced Dimash.

In the end his mic is more than 2 ft away and still picks up his voice even though it's a dynamic microphone designed to pick up sound up close. His voice is very powerful with alien level control.

Jennifer! Well what can you say about Dimash. As you said his voice seems to break all the "laws" of vocal folds. His music isn't always to my taste ... I doubt we'll hear him sing, say, Man of Constant Sorrow anytime soon. 😁 But we got a bit of Italian in this one. Dimash's last high notes I noted you stayed right up there with him though. My favorite version of this is from the Singer competition in China. This version was pitch corrected probably because there were issues with Dimash's in ear monitors and he was having a hard time hearing himself. If you watch a fan cam version of this performance, you can hear what parts needed pitch correction.

Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly". This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonate, concerto or symphony that is using that specific parce. The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and give his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself. The classic music piece is globally famous and there were many different translations into different songs, with different music composition and different lyrics (Daniele Licari, Sarah Brightman and Sissel Kyrkjebo for instance). But the most famous version, by far, is Lara’s version: it was translated into a pop song for her, she wrote lyrics in english and italian for it and is the original performer of this new version. Stopping at so many different stages, in the end, becomes appreciated in order for one to at least get an idea of how Dimash manages to navigate his instrument through the song that ultimately affects his entire performance. Myself being a musician with a daughter who is a professionally trained singer, I know the amount of practice that goes into training in order to produce music of any kind on the highest level.
