What I love about Dimash is that he does not use his vocal abilities to show off, but to serve the song: through his voice, he’s telling us a story. How can you not admire and respect such a wholesome artist with a beautiful heart and soul? Dimash’s song, video, and message are so powerful and compelling: The Story of One Sky - that Dimash composed himself - is a heartfelt plea for peace and unity. Thus, although we are divided into different countries, races and faiths, we all share the same sky. We, the people sitting in this stadium, each of us is different, not totally alike one another, but we are all God's children, each of us with different talents. And, as I mentioned just now, right now is a bad time. In fact, I am not satisfied with the present situation. I have not seen how such situations evolved in the past, therefore I don't know what will happen next. But many people are suffering today because of a few individuals, it's really true. We, we the adults, consider ourselves to be "smarter" than the small children and innocents, but while we do our best to teach and educate our children, we forget that we also have some things to learn from those children. They are pure-hearted, kind, friendly, untainted and without egos and their love for people are pure. Young children have such qualities. I started writing this song I'm about to perform, three years ago. Generally speaking, my main purpose in writing this work is to call for peace in the world. It's a small composition that has burst out from deep within my heart. The composition, musical arrangements and Dimash's vocals are outstanding - as ever - and more, as he blends a number of genres, multicultural traditional sounds, including mourning laments, into the fabric of the piece. This Project / Mini-Movie ( 3 years in the making - and even more relevant today ) is about the message rather than the music. Dimash is pointing out that we all live Under One Sky ( on this One Planet - this 'Pale Blue Dot' * - check the visual ) and we should get our Act Together! We should stop blindly following power hungry, self serving, territorial and aggressive 'Leaders' { Pipers } - Dancing us all to their tune and directly towards the Extinction Cliff }. It's time to turn toward a different path where we respect each other and Choose Life. In the final scene Dimash shows a group representing all peoples and all religions walking together toward a bright new future. Is this possible? We can get to Mars - but we can't get on with each other? Doesn't seem like such a difficult choice does it?! And yet we seem forever circling in these divisive competitive patterns that are essentally tribalised warfare. We need to work out how to leave the snarling, pissing on boundaries, chest thumping, genocidal 'monkey brains' behind. Can we? Or are we headed to M.A.D.? These past couple of generations haven't lived through. and doesn't seem to truly comprehend, the horror and terror of a Nuclear Holocaust. Nobody will survive that - anywhere on the planet. Terms like 'Existential Threat' are thrown around as if a passing fad! Something that might happen to Somebody Else - Over There. WRONG. One world - One System - One Atmosphere/ One Sky. the film is based on a story written by Dimash with his own screenplay. (I worked on this piece for 3 years). Director Alina Veripya spoke about creating the music video for the new song: the clip is divided into several parts. The first is about childhood. The main character, two friends linked by childhood stories and symbols of eternal friendship. One day the friend saves the protagonist when he drowns. However, there is already competition in these children's story, where the boys love one girl and she chooses one. The second goes through a kind of psychological The disintegration and transformation of children's problems into an adult world of totalitarianism and struggle. When he becomes a commander, the opponent carries the idea of saving the war: the young boy who presents the tokens of friendship he made will marry the girl (Dimash). She will give birth. A baby girl (murdered) and a mother waiting for another baby. Friends were scattered, and the third friend became an enemy, friends are enemies, because of the war, It is shocking how the cry of true helplessness of a father embracing his murdered daughter is practically coupled with the cries of a woman in labor who brings a child into the traumatized world of soldier (Dimash). That he was searching for his family and that he had found the dead body of his daughter and I think believing that his pregnant wife had also died, and felt the death of life, he decides, as the only way out in that moment of uncontrollable pain is revenge. In singing but also as an actor and as a storyteller. The powerful message conveyed by this video is more relevant today than ever. This video is mostly about the message and it is for the first time more important than his vocal abilities. His voice is just the tool in this video. But indispensable and simply indescribable. His singing is indescribable and I don’t have the words to express it adequately. But it is only the mediator of what this video is about. This is so heartbreaking and sad and an awesome masterpiece. Pure goosebumps. He worked on this composition for three years and also wrote the screenplay. The premiere was on September 24, 2022. As some have mentioned, this video should be seen by many people. The boy on the beach that saved Dimash as a child grows up to be the Piper, Dimash married the girl and had a daughter that got killed and his wife dies during childbirth. That child, a boy, is raised by the various religious people you saw praying while the child was being born. That child is the man at the end that looks like Dimash leading the multi religious group of people into the Light. The Pope has already awarded Dimash with a medal for this. Requiem: The Story of One Sky This is subtitled "Requiem” but it is also a vision and a call to action. Dimash is steeped in sacred music and has a deep understanding of the mystic teachings and symbolism of the major world religions as well as Kazakh shamanism. It is not by coincidence that the first performance of this work took place on September 14, 2022, at the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Kazakhstan. The written statement at the end of the video is directly from the “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together” signed jointly on February 4, 2019, by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmad El-Tayeb. Dimash met and spoke with both men at the September meeting. Everything Dimash does is intentional, and this piece has layers that would take a dissertation to unravel. I only touch on some of what struck me in the symbolism. The music is a dissertation all by itself. The pendant is an interesting element. It is a gnomon from a maritime compass sundial. This triangular blade is attached to the sundial, casting a shadow on the sundial while the perforated pinhole projects the image of the sun onto the dial. It was used for both timekeeping and navigation, with the gnomon oriented to True North. (Thank you, Snarky Tart for that information). In the MV, the child who later becomes the military commander never puts on the necklace. After Dimash, the boy, gives his friend the pendant, the camera focuses on his hand and shows that his friend has bent the gnomon in anger over being rejected by the girl. Thus bent, it can never be oriented to True North, and he has lost his moral compass. Later, we see a version of the gnomon as the military insignia on the uniforms of the commander and his soldiers but distorted and without the hole that allows light to shine through rendering it useless as a compass. When we lose the original intent of a symbol by twisting it into something it is not or by just paying lip service, it no longer has any spiritual meaning. At best it becomes a useless prop, at worst it is used to mislead and manipulate people. Contemporary music is also present: With the phrase "We have passed the moment of Imagine," Dimash reminds us that we are past the sentiments evoked by the song "Imagine" by John Lennon. It is time to stop dreaming about a world of peace and harmony. If we choose life, if we wish for peace, if we want a world without war for our children and grandchildren, we must act and take up the long hard path up the mountain towards the light. It is the only way. The storyline is a very human one: we start as innocents until our hearts are broken, we fail, or our dreams are not realized. If in our pain and disappointment, we turn to anger and blame instead of acceptance, power instead of love, greed and envy instead of generosity, hatred instead of forgiveness, and revenge instead of justice, we sow the seeds for conflicts that can turn into war. The Piper's call is seductive as it promises redress for our grievances, control over our circumstances, and power over those who thwarted us, and this appeals to our wounded ego. However, let's remember that the Piper is a symbolic figure of Death from the Middle Ages, often used as a metaphor for trusting and following charismatic but dangerous and malevolent leaders to certain death. Even if we resist, as the adult Dimash character does, we often employ the same methods and weaponry as the Piper, and thus those who fight back betray peace as well because peace cannot be won through violence. That is the dilemma of those of us who did not start the war, who do not support the war, but are forced to respond in order to defend ourselves and those we love. How can we rid the world of evil without becoming what we fight against? The burning sign "Waldenberg" is a reference to the end of WWII when the US Army destroyed the last of the resistance by the German Wehrmacht close to the end of the war in April 1945 in the part of Germany where I grew up. I have seen the aftermath of war as I was born a few years later when much of Germany was still in rubble. Waldenburg is only 28 miles from my hometown and was completely destroyed as you can see from the picture. Many of the dead in those bombed-out buildings were women and children. The good guys defeated evil but at what price? War is not the answer. Dimash's scream of “we’re choosing life” is that of giving birth: the old earthly consciousness of an eye for an eye has to die to make way for a new spiritual consciousness that embraces all life. Soul is breaking free to return to its natural state of love and purity as exemplified by the images of the children and the newborn baby. The blowing of the shofar signals God's mercy for humankind when it turns from wrong to right: in the Zohar, the book of Jewish mysticism, it says: “When human beings repent of their sins, they blow the shofar on earth. Its sound ascends On High and awakens the heavenly shofar, and so mercy is aroused, and judgment is removed.” Reborn as a leader for peace and love, Dimash's character in the form of his son becomes a spiritual guide for all of mankind on our shared journey up the mountain towards the light of God, however we may interpret or name the divine. We are all on the same path, even if our personal narratives, cultural heritage, race, and spiritual orientations are very different from one another. That is the grandiose and impressive result of three years of compositional work by Dimash Qudaibergen. This clip is not about war, it’s about peace. War here is a means of expressing the contrast of what happens when we lose love for one another. It is about the call to unite, to stop dividing each other along national, social, religious lines in order to preserve life, love, friendship, and the land for our children. Story: The clip is divided into several parts. The first is about childhood. The main character and his 2 friends are linked in eternal friendship through childhood stories and a symbol (necklace). One day, the friend saves the protagonist when he is drowning. However, there is already competition in this children's story as the boys are in love with the girl and she chooses 'Dimash'. The pendant is a gnomon, the shadow hand of a sundial, which also served as a sea compass before antiquity. Uniform wearers wear this symbol on their heads. So it can't work. The second experiences a kind of nervous breakdown and transfers the children's problems into the world of adult totalitarianism and struggle. By becoming President, the antagonist (Piper - in reference to the 'Pied Piper of Hamelin') carries within himself the idea of a war to save: “Only war will lead us to peace. Only the strongest can find love in their hearts. You must be strong enough to give freedom to the world. A world where every city, every home is one. We will guide all who are ready to start this new life. Anyone who resists has no business with us. I choose freedom. The world is open to me and I want to give it to you. War for the people is the way to unity.” The main character also speaks of unity, of peace, but through the lens of kindness and love. While fighting, he is confused, he is in shock, but he has to save his family - his pregnant wife (the very girl from his childhood) and his daughter. Once home, he is horrified by the picture of the dead and realizes that his family is also dead. After surviving this drama, he moves on to the antagonist to seek revenge. However, the Protagonist’s wife survives with the help of people who know that she is the one who must give birth to a special boy who can save the world.
