I would love for the two of you to also watch his performance of this song when he appeared on "The Singer 2017. Most people prefer this version because Of the range, but, I think the performance was brilliant because it seemed more heartfelt. That, along with the fantastic orchestration and backup singers made this song epic....to me. I would love to hear your thoughts. This is a love song that Dimash composed at the age of 19. For most folks, understanding the lyrics matter very little.

As always great reactions and commentary. This was a charity event for a children's hospital. Attendance was 155,000 and Dimash was invited as one of the guest performers. The note he hits at that point in the song in most of his other performances is a G7, but as sometimes happens, rather than fail, he pushed out a 5-second C#8->D8, and then just kept going....

The whistle note with vibrato is a D8 which is off the piano. The highest note on the piano is a C8. The song that Dimash composed as a teenager is about the Unforgettable day that he was walking and saw a girl that he fell in love with at first sight. 🎶👱‍♀️👗👠👠💓

I‘m convinced that you will like the song „Give me love/Makhabbat ber magan“. It’s not about high notes but the lyrics give space for different interpretations too and it became a kind of hymn he sings together with his dears on concerts.

Whistle, but with his vocal chords. I wonder how much higher he can go if he did this on stage, in front of thousands of people, and kept singing like nothing happened. But his real range is a secret, he doesn't like talking about it. He's definitely more than range, but his range is not to be neglected at all either.

I’m not sure this song had any more meaning than just a love song. There are other songs sung by Dimash that have a deeper meaning. I still love the song though. Especially the melody. ♥️

Since when love songs are not meaningful?? When did love and at that love teen love lost its meaning? Does he has to sing about the planet or how to love himself, inside or to have an existential crisis, when A he was a teen, b he was a happy, loved kid, c both of his parents are together and apparently have and had through out his childhood and teen years a happy marriage, D he was raised by his grandmother who is a traditional woman and put love and marriage in his priorities as number one.

He sings about love, he is very traditional, if you see him in interviews you'll know he is very traditional. Love is very important. There is a video where a bodyguard in China is yelling at a fan and he tells him don't she is a girl, even though they were pushing him and he couldn't walk to where he was going, he still defended the fan. Why wouldn't he sing a song about treasuring the woman he loved even at 19?

Great reaction to our Dimash! He dedicated this song to his "Dears" ( that's how he call us, his fans) in various performances. I personally attended his first Solo Concert at the Barclay's center in Brooklyn, NY. It was a flight to another dimension. No he doesn’t write the lyrics, (hasn’t done up to now anyway, never say never! It’s Dimash) he just (just!) composes the music.

Dimash was directly responsible for and is listed as the writer to the the lyrics of "War and Peace".... They are in Chinese but he requested that they be put in Chinese. He composed "War and Peace" just like "Unforgettable Day"... I think if you compose a song, if you put your heart and soul into designing the music..... that you would want some control over the lyrics considering you also have to sing it time and time again. I know Dimash did not write the lyrics for Unforgettable Day. However, I have to think that he oversaw them and made changes where necessary...if necessary.

@Susan Douglas Dimash did not write the lyrics, but the lyricist who wrote them did so based on his conversation with Dimash. There is an interview with the lyricist somewhere on the youtube. He talks about how the lyrics for Unforgettable Day came about. His son came from school and said: Dad, you'll never guess what happened in school today; Dimash wrote this great song, you must write the lyrics for it! Sure - he answered - but I have to spend time with Dimash to find out what it is that he would want to say.

"What the **** was that?" Lol. Dimash whistle register... the highest I have ever heard. And yeah, the captions on youtube is garbage. I have forgotten I have had it on and gone to an english speaking channel and it did something similar. The person says one thing and I read that they say something completely different.

He saw a girl one day and fell in love that moment. The translation probably lose something. Because he sang it during the gown pre sensations at the Mrs Universe Contest. After the 2017 China show and till now even throughout the virus Dimash has been very busy doing performances on line music videos and he did the Tokyo jazz festival. His movie soundtrack is across endless dimensions for the movie creators the past is coming out oct 8. So you better at least review the song before the movie comes out. It’s on his channel.

He composed the music when he was 17 or 19. There is some debate about that. The lyrics are not his. Yep, D8 for 5 seconds and with vibrato! This note is off the piano. He sang it in the Chinese show I am a singer That version is even better in ny opinion.

I think it was a D7 that he did on the Singer show. On an interview he said he was trying to do a D7 here (which is what he normally does on this song) when he was shaking the microphone but his voice failed him so he decided to do a D8 instead!

Dimash composes it at age 17. It’s a love song, yes, of love at first sight, over the first two stanzas. Then the build up comes, and leads to the heartfelt cry: so how could I let you go to another man? In other words, the girl married someone else, though there’s no detail of why.
