I wondered if it was easier for him to belt the song in a standing position, and that might be true, but the song is no less powerful in this intimate setting. Between Dimash and the musicians, it's the pure height of artistry and skill on this planet as he transcends heaven and earth for us with his music. I like that you reviewed this one shortly after the last. Beep!

Barry this is without a doubt the most spine chilling performance from Dimash I’ve ever seen or heard. I feel I’ve been catapulted into the Kazakh landscape and their history. The indigenous instruments sound like howling wolves and wind and his voice is so pure,powerful and soulful. I totally agree with you that it’s pure genius. This is the first time I’ve seen a landscape painting without a single brushstroke. And, Yes, it’s pure MAGIC ❤️❤️❤️🔥🔥🔥✔️✔️✔️💯%

Purely as a vocalist he is head and shoulders above anyone i have ever heard. I was honored to see him live and honestly, he is simply spine tingling. As soon as he hits the 1st note you have had your moneys worth.

Dimash is probably the only vocalist I know that consistently sounds better live than in studio recordings. The emotions he invests his live performances with are unmatched. Therefore I already told you - please react to his live performances of Battle of Memories. Frankly, the MV doesn't even come close to the different live versions of this song. This performance of Samaltau - simply no words for it. Its emotion and power just grip you at your heart and throat and don't let go.

When I first heard this song (at the inauguration of President Bidon), my blood boiled, I roared, a heart-rending cry spontaneously escaped from my soul. And all this happened because I am one of the surviving descendants of the exterminated Kazakhs from the younger zhuz - I thought.

But through my YOUNG MAN (what I call Dimash) telling the story, performing the song the world knows what happened. And you, your family & your country are stronger as a people. And by telling the children of this journey, it will not be forgotten nor repeated. The truth is just that, the truth. It can't be used to promote hatred or the cycle will continue. And sadly there are those that can try to use this for their own purpose. We all have such as these in our country. Yea, Brian. He was not here in this song. At the beginning when the instruments played, it was just his body sitting there. For me it seemed, he was already somewhere. For it does not matter, if he sings english or in his language. I can feel everything he sings. As Barry said: SoS moved me, but this song takes me somewhere. I asked myself after this song: Am i right here, is this really the right place to be? Yes it sounds weird. But this song moves a lot of emotions in me and a lot of questions about what we are all doing in this crazy times, this crazy sick world here.

What I generally feel about this song I wrote under the last version and I do not want to repeat it here. But this version is a thousand times more intense. It is impossible for me to listen to this song without getting goose bumps and tears in my eyes. I feel it down to my bones, it is a mixture of so many different, sometimes even contradictory feelings at the same time that it seems impossible to feel them all at once, yet it is so. He is a special soul with a special gift that brings joy to so many people all over the world and unites them.

Dimash doesn’t need any stage settings, light shows or dancers to creat a magical atmosphere, to lead into another world. Just him and his music and voice, nothing distracting, is enough. That’s true artistry. I love this version of Samaltau much more the other one. It’s way more intimate and touching.

Hey Barry awesome to see you react to the studio version of Samaltau. It is absolutly stunning and breathtakingly beautiful to listen to! Sometimes when I walk through forests (in complete solitude, right before sunrise or sunset) I look around at the surrounding moss twigs 'sometimes little babbling brooks' I put in one of my earbud headphones and have Dimash singing Samaltau in that one ear, while having my own surrounding sounds in the other. That whole 'ritual' makes it feel like he is right there in the forest with me

Barry, I really love your comments, you are a very nice person. Dimash, I can't find the real words, he is unique, no one in the world is like him, he is handsome, very human, in and outside beautiful. Love him so much. He united the people all over the world, no matter where they came from, what religion they have, he touched our hearts and soul, his voice is incredible. Thank you, Barry, for returning so quickly to react to this version. The Chinese festival version is beautiful, no doubt. But this version...there really are no words. It's something else entirely, I would say "sacred". It's so raw and intimate, even in its perfection, that it almost seems that we're intruding on an ancient ritual. For me, this is Dimash at his most powerful. I listen to this performance every day. Thank you again! 🧡🧡🧡

Hello Barry, I told you wouldn't regret it. You said that even without understanding the words, Dimash's voice took you SOMEWHERE. Yes, like many of us. But there is another song where Dimash NOT uses any words and takes us to magical places created by his voice and our imaginations. To Know - vocalise, from a concert in Kiev this year. Ah, I've been waiting for you to react to this version of Samaltau. It is stunning, more so because it has been pared back, stripped down and wow, does it pack a punch. Top musicians evoking the atmosphere, animals etc - you can almost feel the air. And Dimash - a voice full of power, yearning, sadness - there's no-one else like him. My top Dimash song because of it's simplicity. Your reaction did it justice - thank you.

Masterpiece. Dimash should have awards up the yin yang. How many performances are just stellar? I hope he doesn't try to please the popular culture....but go with what he loves. I'm down for his taste. Dimash is one of the things in my life that gets me through when I feel so disappointed in humanity. Hello Barry. I'm so glad that you came back so soon, also that you made a r/r of this version as well. This one is so powerful and it is amazing how he can bring us on this magical journey just by sitting there, singing in his studio. I went through your Dimash reaction list, and I was surprised that you haven't reacted to KNOW yet. It's a song by Igor Krutoy and Dimash sings it differently almost every time. At his last concert he sang it without lyrics and it is now my number one favorite. But I think you should listen to one of the others first and then the vocalizing version later. I love this. It should be given an award. Pure art at it's finest. Dimash is no fly by night phenomenon. He is a gift of profound treasures. I just hope the world will be kind to him. So much jealousy. We all should just stand back and appreciate what we have been given and stop trying to pick him apart. You can't analyze miracles. Hello Barry. Of Brazil. Oh how happy I felt to see that you would react to this video. I really wanted to know your opinion when his interpretation in the studio. This Live Stream took place on May 24, 2020. Day when Dimash turned 26 years old. For me, it was the best interpretation of that song. Samaltau is a traditional song that talks about the First World War in 1916, when a decree from the Russian Empire was issued on the mobilization of the army for rear operations. There was a lot of suffering and pain. The lyrics are about a Kazakh son who cries to leave his parents alone, because he is forced to join the Russian army for war. Samaltau is the name of the place where the man is. Thank you for this moment when I was moved to feel your emotion watching the video. I loved your comments.

Dear Barry ☘️ hearing Samaltau again made me like the song even more. Did you notice the next words in the beginning of the song is Qairan Elim, the title of his new music video for the love of his motherland? The musicians were able to transport the soul into a wide open space that only a dream can take you. This is indeed an amazing song. Thank you for reviewing this version of Samaltau. Didn’t I tell you Barry? Thank you for doing this review right on the heels of the other. Is this not the most amazing performance!!!! I am always riveted with Dimash’s proud musical heritage. It really showcases his love of his country and introduces to the western world a completely awesome vista of a heritage most of us have never experienced. Love love your reactions. This is indeed my favorite performance of Dimash, I LOVE this song and him, just sitting, centred and calm, but so full of power and passion with this beautiful oriental vibe... ❤️❤️ Really spiritual. I am also taken away every time and I see the vast Steppe, deserted land, feel the loneliness and grief and desperation and hear the surrender into a cruel fate....
