I'm sure I'm older than you and I've never heard anyone like him either! As a matter of fact, for the past four years I've listened to him every day! Anyway.... I really like your attitude regarding not reacting to artists you don't like only to say negative things. As far as his being humble.... he very much is. He's a wonderfully kind, caring, generous and loving person. People who know him personally or who have worked with him professionally go out of their way to say what a great human he is. Greetings from a Las Vegas Dear, and I look forward to more Dimash and YOU! 😄

Dimash and the composer of this song, Igor Krutoy (at the piano), often use archetypes in their music. This epic piece evokes the journey of soul (wandering in ancient times, haunted by memories, and lost loves ) as it finds itself in an expanded state of awareness (new ground, chance to know who I am, begin again). Hesitantly at first, even pretending to stumble a bit, but with growing confidence, Dimash takes us on a journey and with that last refrain, he totally owns this new ground. Like in many of his arrangements, Dimash incorporates sacred music traditions of different cultures and ages into something uniquely his own. The music of ancient cultures often used chants, overtone and throat singing, and melismatic techniques to induce a hypnotic trance in the listener. Dimash is not only aware of the power of music to alter one’s state of consciousness, he wields this power masterfully, but always with great respect. His friend since his teenage years, Erlan Bekchurin, is a brilliant arranger and knows exactly what Dimash wants to accomplish. Together they create magic. Dimash insisted on the use of the Kobyz, an instrument which was used in Kazakh shamanism to communicate with spirits, and it fits beautifully. Dimash's friend and fellow Kazakh and best Kobyz player in the world, Olzhas Qurmanbeck, performs masterfully as always.

I loved your comment on this piece. It gave me an even better understanding of it. I also like the video of this song that shows a lone man struggling through heavy snow and being followed by wolves. It also gives a great interpretation of the words of this song. I hope I am fortunate enough to come across more of your comments on Dimashs' music. I am so hooked on his music that I do not listen to other performers.

It's ok to wave your arms around and smile a lot during a Dimash reaction!!😄 If you want to see a bit more of what Dimash is like, take a look at his interview with the Kazakh TV station. I believe it's on his You Tube channel. There are also lots of little videos of Dimash with friends which are fun to watch. You're completely right about him not singing a song unless he feels it. I guess that's why his performances are so good. I haven't gone to any of his concerts, but I watched the most recent three online and I would love to go some day! There is a nice short concert you could watch that's only about 30 minutes. I think you can find it under "The concert in the rain". Apparently it was an outdoor concert and when it was time for him to sing, it was raining. Because the people had been waiting for him all day, he just sang in the rain! Finally his team had to insist that he stop, but he took time to have a picture of himself with his fans in the background. When I saw this video, about a week after discovering him, I knew why his fans love him so much!🇨🇦

You are right he transcends every genres and cultures: you should listen to a Kazakh folk song by Dimash, like Dididau or Qairan Elim, both are masterpieces. He also has some pop songs in his repertoire (Screaming Idol Hit, Be with me...), operatic (Olimpico)... or my absolute favorite one: Know (New wave version or Arnau vocalise version). Please continue to react to him, he never disappoints. Because he is an absolute genius

Dimash actually performed a Sarah Brightman song when he was younger, "A Question of Honor." It's available on youtube. Some people consider it "cheesy," but I actually thinks it's a lot of fun.

👉 Here is playing the best Kobys player in the world, Dimash’s friend Olzhas Qurmanbeck. This bowl-neck lute played with a bow is is an old Turkic stringed instrument and called Kobys, Qobyz or Kylkobyz in Kazakhstan. The Kyrgyz variant, for example, is called the kyl-kyyak. The Kobys is the oldest string instrument in the world and, according to a German scientist, it spread beyond the borders of the nomadic area of Central Asia and became the mother (prototype) of all European string instruments. (Turkic means: The Turkic peoples are a collection of ethnic groups from Central, East, North and West Asia as well as parts of Europe and North Africa who speak Turkic languages. Difference between Turkic and Turkish - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PqxhtBecVeg.html ) A legend about Kobyz says that this instrument was created by the great steppe narrator Korkyt-Ata, who lived in the 10th century and that the tool is charged with magical and even mystical properties and sounds like animal voices. In addition, the Kazakh people believed that the spirits of their ancestors spoke to them through this music. The old outlook and piety towards their instruments and music was constantly preserved in traditional Kazakh society and ensured the highest spiritual level of musical art and a special respectful attitude towards musical instruments. Simple people, for example, did not dare to touch the shaman's Kobyz. It is said: The balance between the courses of life and death on earth can be maintained by playing the Kobyz.

❤❤❤❤❤ Dimash has a hand in every aspect of his performances and has an affinity for fire/flames. That instrument is a traditional Kazakh stringed instrument named a Kobyz. The gentleman playing is a national master of the Kobyz. That last note was 19.52 seconds long. The longest we've heard him go is 23 seconds at the end of Sinful Passion. Thank you, Bob, for another great reaction to Dimash!

Yes, I saw Sarah Brightman's Eden concert and I do see the similarities. Dimash's concerts remind me of hers. I would love to see Dimash sing a classical aria as Sarah does in her concerts. The closest he comes to it is his Ave Maria. Have you reacted to Dimash's Ikanaide yet? BTW Dimash is considered a cultural ambassador for Kasachstan and has received many awards for his charitable work. He has worked with Michael Coors on his charitable foundation and was active in helping his country during the Covid crisis, including his "We Are One" video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uYJ8RnrZKfM.html

I knew that I was not wrong to subscribe to your channel, you are an honest guy who knows how to appreciate true musical art. I must have a similar age to you and I really like music too but especially the 60's, 70's and 80's. Now Dimash appears and I'm amazed at his talent and how great he is, for me the best singer I've ever heard in my life. As you say, Dimash only sings what he feels, he does not sing to please and look good, that is appreciated in each presentation, and the simplicity and humility that he transmits is little seen in these times of Divos and characters created just to market. Blessings from Panama.

Thanks for the reaction. I love watching new reactors when they come in contact with Dimash. They all have more or less the same reactions. So far, I haven't heard anyone who, after the first two reactions, finds out that Dimash really only sing what he wants and feels. He is very picky about his choice of composers and lyricists, as he wants the song to talk about what he actually feels. The lyrics for this song were written by renowned American songwriter Sharon Vaughn, and the music was contributed by maestro Igor Krutoy, a Russian magnate and billionaire who even reactivated from retirement to writing songs for Dimash. He is a very famous and successful composer and producer. Together they are the best tandem and create real works of art. Please react to his songs, it will be a special experience. Some are his old songs, and some he wrote especially for Dimash. The maestro usually performs with him as a pianist. My favorite Krutoy songs: Olympico Love is Like a Dream Your Love Ti Amo Cosi

Now 62, I know Sarah Brightman since the closing ceremony of the 1992 Barcelona olympic games. I've since been fan of her and, sure Eden is great, but Timeless is my favorite album ( "Just Show Me How to Love You" with José Cura and "Tú Quieres Volver" are amongst my top preferred Sarah Brightman's songs ) Some 2019 day, trying to locate some new songs of her, google gave me a link to his "Question of honor" ... performed by a duet I did know absolutely nothing about: someone called Zarina Antynbayeva and a young-looking boy called Dimash. 1st minute by Zarina, then 15 seconds of riffs and runs by Dimash and .... disbelief, this can't be true, he's doing playback ( he certainly did ), no way this voice is his voice ..... I googled for Dimash and .... well, here we are :-D So, do you want to enjoy a Sarah Brightman song performed by the soloist soprano of the Abay Opera House in Almaty ( Kazakhstan ) and Dimash ? Ok: here you have it :-D ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0CChMk9Oi4Y.html Enjoy !

Sinful Passion by Dimash is a must as well as Ikanaide. One in Russian, one in Japanese, both stunning. That being said, if you want to see his heart, do some of his Kazakh music, Daididau, Samaltau for starters. Dimash is a very humble person. He once commented during an interview that one day he will step down from the stage to sit among the audience and when he does he does not want the person sitting next to him to say to him, when you were on stage you acted badly. Therefore, he is always respectful, modest, caring and takes care not to embarrass himself, his family or his country. One of the reasons beyond his voice I am so partial to him is his character.

Welcome to Hungary! First of all, I have to tell you that I love your reactions. I've been Dears for 3 years now (it's the officially registered name of our Dimash fans) but I really like quality music, including Angelina Jordan and Aurora, and I watch these reactions too.Of course, I have a favorite artist that I haven't seen with you, if your time permits, it's worth seeing them too : Diana Ankudinova (we call her only the female Dimash), Lara Fabian, the Nightwis band, and Danelya Tyulesova, now that will be enough (I'm sorry, but I don't know a measure in music)Returning to Dimash, the instrument that is so unique is perhaps one of the oldest instruments in the world, which is still used today (especially in Kazakhstan) has existed since about the 9th century. It's made of wood, lined with animal skin in the bay area, it only has 2 strings, and its tow is made of horsehair. This gentleman who plays on it is the best Kobyzosa in the world: Olzhas Qurmanbek. The last voice, well Dimash, is a record holder in this, and at the end of sin full passiona, he couldn't breathe for 22 seconds.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YJElGH2hquw.html Thanks for the reaction, we are excited about the next one. Dimash's contact with the audience is fantastic, this is what anyone who has been to his concert really knows, here is a live example (I have never seen this before) this year 16.04.2022. In Prague, Dimash sings the audience in 3 parts! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2sQUluixeL8.html

Hello There!!🤗 First: Your opening comments were 100% the way i/we feel, most of us. I look for Reactors who play the music/ artists that I love, and introduce me to more!! I Don't like feeling I must say something GOOD about music, or art, etc. if I honestly don't care for it!🥺🥺 Second: You don't Need new words...🤗👍...for certain artists there just AREN'T adequate words. Dimash is unique, and a Master of his art. He IS also a genuine, caring and humble young man who takes his gift very seriously....and Knows he's been given something very special. He has a loving, nurturing, and intelligent family who taught him respect and love of others. He does Amazing charity work, and is an Ambassador for World Peace. His biggest joy is in making Others...his fans, audiences, children...Happy, and doesn't care a bit about the money. You'll NEVER hear him sing a questionable song, or something 'iffy', ever. Sorry....long-winded here. I SO appreciate YOUR appreciation of Dimash, and can't wait for your thoughts on More of his work.🥰👌👌👌 Thanks!🙏🙏🙏💖💖💖💖

This is not a song it is a piece of art, one of his masterpieces. Yes, there' s not just one. Knowing his abilities, his versatility makes the mystery Dimash even more incomprehensible. I fail to express how I feel about this unique young man. I thought I knew him, his voice, his art, his abilities, his versatility, his intensity but in the concert my mind failed to process what it means to experience him live on stage. Other masterpieces are Ave Maria, Love of tired swans, Qairan Elim, Olympico, Ikanaide, Know, Love is like a dream, at least in my opinion. I just love his Kazakh songs like Amanat, Samaltau, Karatorgai. Thanks for your reaction. Btw I think it is impossible to overact a reaction to Dimash as long as it is honesty felt and there is nothing to be ashamed of.

Hello Australia (Brisbane Dear here). Totally agree with you. Dimash is so unique that you don’t have to worry about something being offensive. He radiates such love and joy as well as his superb ability. Since I discovered him I can’t really listen to anyone else, after just a couple of songs I have to go back to Dimash. Even though other singers I like are great, they don’t have all the differences, changes in dynamics and style etc that Dimash can put into just one song, so their songs just seem a bit empty. I listen and watch him for hours every day, nearly a year now and never get tired of it or bored 🥰

@@suzannaferenczi6823 I am 67 and had my favourite singers but like you never an official fan of anyone, never joined a fan club before, even when young, but I just had to be one of Dimash’s Dears. Dimash affects me like no other human has. It is crazy that I will never meet him, talk to him, probably never get to hear him live, and he will never know I even exist but he has had a huge impact on my life. He’s where I run to when I have “had enough” and need to escape the daily miseries and stresses. I just have to see his face and it lifts my heart, see him smile and it lights up my world, (and I will be sitting here smiling back with a big grin like a loon) and that’s before he even sings. His voice can shoot me to the stratosphere or enfold me in a beautiful musical caress (love is like a dream) no one has ever touched my heart and soul like he does. He just radiates such love and joy and the way he loves his parents just totally melts me. I would give the world if only my son loved me like that, or my daughter who is not even speaking to me. Can’t imagine Dimash ever treating his mother like that. It’s crazy how we want to protect him, and worry about him and when people get blown away by him we revel in it like proud parents. No one I have introduced to Dimash has shown any real interest, too brainwashed by mainstream commercial music to even appreciate his genius. Haven’t been able to Dimashify anyone. I feel like I am living on another planet all by myself.

Thank you for your reaction. He is very humble, nice, generous, polite, charitable person in real life and also as an artist and he always loves giving credit to other people: the musicians, the backup singers, the show organizers, etc. I have been to 5 of his solo concerts. he never behaves like the artist everybody came to admire, he is the one standing on his knees in front of the audience, constantly telling how much he loves and appreciates us and how grateful he is for us coming. And he makes us a part of his concerts by always appealing to us and asking us to sing with him. And he is so unassuming and funny. If you watch some of his concert official recordings or fancams you will understand what I mean. By the way, I still hope you are going to react to Ikanaide, like you said you intend to in the previous video.

Very nicely said! I love the way Dimash smiles when his Dears sing to him at his concerts! And he never gets annoyed when they sing off key, he just sings a phrase or two to get them back on track and keeps smiling like a proud papa!

👉 Maestro Igor Krutoy and Dimash Qudaibergen have created the really unique song in English with enchanting oriental melodies. “It was Dimash’s talent that inspired me to write this song, his immense vocal abilities and his desire to sing for a large international audience... I don’t see anyone else who could perform this piece in such a way”. - Krutoy said. (dimashnews) A Dear hits the nail on the head with this statement: “These are the voices of the world singing the tragedy of human migration forced by tragic circumstances.” Igor Krutoy, *1954 in Ukrainian SSSR, singer and songwriter in Ukrainian, Honored Artist and music titan in Russia (billionaire). He is a world- famous composer who came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. They are friends and have a father-son relationship. Dimash said also in an interview about the collaboration with Igor Krutoy that it is important to him that the songs are written in such a way that there is room for variations ... so every performance of a song is a surprise and every Dear can choose his favorite presentation... I can not decide. The lyrics were written by Mary Sharon Vaughn (*1947, American musician, songwriter and producer. She writes hits for famous singers around the world, including Lara Fabian) * Premiere at the New Wave 2021 (Russia): Stranger - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lFsB5HVnmSA.html * Here, the often forgotten unique version in China: Stranger - Shine! I relate to your reaction style and your way of thinking, so I subscribed. Just one technical thing that I think nobody mentioned in the comments so far: since the lyrics of songs which Dimash chooses, are beautiful and meaningful, don't forget to switch on the close captions (CC). Most videos on Dimash's own YT channel have English or more translations thanks to the work of the fanclubs. For instance Ikanaide on his own page has CC, the one from Tokyo Jazz page hasn't. Thank you again for your sympathetic reaction and greetings from Finland!

Hey Bob, I love your sincere reaction to Dimash. Sinful Passion is a nice third choice. But take the excellent fancam version from the Moscou concert. Here he is so intwined with the song. its a marvel to see! He breaths every note with his whole body while painting the story with his hands...jeeeez, I love that! One of his Kazachs songs I like a lot is Samaltau, two versions who are breathtaking is one from the Tokio Jazz festival and one with a lot more visuel aspects, from his digital concert. A chinese song I like a lot is "our love" from the masked singer. Hoping op more Dimash reactions from you, I send many greetings from Belgium! 💗

They are called Generation Di. - Dimash, Daneliya Tuleshova and Diana Ankudinova. I recommend making a reaction to Diana Ankudinova (19), one of the best vocalists in the world, who has a unique voice - a dramatic contralto with polyphonic overtones. Many RU-vidrs have made more than 12 thousand reactions to Diana over the past couple of years. RU-vidrs especially liked Diana's performances on TV shows - 'You are Super' and 'ShowMASKgoOn'. - Can't Help Falling in Love, Crow, Personal Jesus, Wicked Game, Human. Diana sings mostly in English, Russian and French. She has also sung in other languages including Spanish, German and Arabic. I was happy to see your reaction to Diana!

The instrument is called Kobyz - it is one of the most ancient string instruments able to produce haunting sounds of nature. It is from Dimash's Kazakhstan made of one piece of wood and horse hair and was in the past considered to be able to banish illness or even death. Dimash is adorably proud of his culture an heritage and deeply routed to his homeland and family. He never miss to incorporate native instruments and singing styles even outside of his Kazakh songs.

Hey Bob. I've haven't heard many from Dimash. I had heard that he was too technical and didn't have much emotion. Judging by this song, I would have to disagree with that. I think he did put the emotion into this. It is an excellent performance. Not my usual cup of tea, but I did like it. You mentioned Sara Brightman. Wasn't she the original Christine in Phantom of the Opera? Looking forward to you checking out the Nightwish version of Phantom, pretty sure you already have it on your 'to do' list.

i dont understand where that came from- like, at ALL- he is honestly often OVERLY emotional- he puts his whole self in his songs- they are always emotional when they should be- stupidly so- way more than almost any other singer i know.. Only someone hating on him for just being so popular, who had never seen his stuff could possibly make such a blatently untrue statement as he lacks emotion in his performances - when they all ooze it. ALL the time! (except ones that shouldnt like pop songs ofc)

Personally, I think Dimash is the most emotional performer I have ever experienced. I have been listening to him for over 3 years non stop and I still can't get used to the intense emotional effect he produces in me. His Kazakh and Chinese songs (and others as well) are impossible for me to listen to with dry eyes.

A mindblowing song... and a very enjoyable reaction from you. Dimash has set a very high standard for singing and is a source of inspiration for many. Very few people have taken on the challenge of covering his songs, however. And even fewer have done it well. A very interesting cover of Stranger has recently come out, and not so many people have heard of it yet. Rock singer and composer Ken Tamplin, who has been singing for almost four decades, has accepted the challenge and created a metal version of this very song, dedicating it to Dimash. Your reaction to Ken Tamplin's Stranger metal cover would be much appreciated. You can check it out here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-s9IF-r-HnnE.html

Speaking as a '70's girl... {well... 'girl'! } way over here in Australia, I agree. There is absolutely nothing to apologise for in identifying when something is not in your lane. Clearly you have broad eclectic musical tastes and there is no shortage of artists to appreciate. You are picking up on various of Dimash's influences. He has extensive training in Operatic and Musical Theatre performance and production (as well as many other genres), so, yes, all his staging, sets, lighting, everything is carefully geared towards telling the story of each piece. Dimash regards his voice as merely one instrument in service of musical storytelling. In this story Dimash uses his many 'voices' to represent those of the increasing numbers of displaced people across the globe who have been forced from their homes and their previous lives into strange new lands. This piece was written exclusively for Dimash (well who else could perform it?} by the renowned Russian Composer; Igor Krutoy, who is there on the piano. Igor and Dimash have composed a number of original pieces together. The Instrument you observe is the traditional two stringed (originally horse hair) Kobyz. It is one of a group of similar and ancient forerunners to our modern Cello's and Violins etc. In Kazakh tradition it was only to be used by Shaman's and Traditional medicine men as it's unique sound was believed to be ;powerful enough to drive evil spirits away and to heal the sick. { Playing the Kobyz is the highly regarded Olzhas Qurmanbek- a close musical collaborator with Dimash, appearing in a number of his performances.} You probably needed to have heard a few more of Dimash's performances to truly appreciate just how much he has worked on further developing his lower register in recent times, however, his 2019 performance of Olympico is a great 'sample' of this. (See original version} Cheers, L

I am going to take a guess that the song you removed or didn’t post was a Dimash song. I am guessing, again, that it was one with more of a “Western (American) music sound, possibly Be With Me, 2021, no I didn’t view any removed video, simply a guess. The music video for Be With Me is really fun and shows his acting and various other talents, but for some, songs like that are a waste of his talent. I believe that type of song is helping him break into the US music world, but the musically mature ear realizes, while it’s fun, a good song to rest his voice in concert, it’s not a song that necessarily sets him apart vocally, like the majority of his songs. Thank you again for sharing your reaction ❤️. I am also a fan of Sarah Brightman, it is hard to believe that Andrew discovered her a a dancer for the musical Cats, just ridiculous, but I am sure that her voice completely stood out during the chorus parts where the dancers would be singing, he found a good one there!
