Welcome to my “Modern Life for the 70's Mind” RU-vid Channel. On this channel, I not only take a look at the songs and history that made us who we are today, but also introduce you to today's modern music as well. Any songs that combine the two are always a winner. I've always loved music and have always tried to keep a balance between the classic music I fell in love with and today's MUCH DIFFERENT sounds. Here's we'll analyze both.

Acappela groups often require a minimum of 5 performers. For PTX and Homefree and Homeplay-style acappela groups, you need to have: 1. Beatboxer. 2. Bass. 3. Soprano. 4. Alto. 5. Tenor. These kinds of groups require each performer to be strong solo so that they don't need to have multiple voices for each part. Much larger accappela groups often have many singers in each vocal part and may have a leader and other supporting voices in soprano/alto/tenor. Another group you should check out is VOCTAVE! They do more of showtunes and Broadway and Disney-style songs and they are an 11-strong group with STRONG soloists. Everyone can solo. Acappella is one of the highest vocal forms to me because it's all coming from the voice box - arrangements, composition, communication, and so on. Everyone has to be on 100% all the time. No time to rest while a guitar solo is going on...
I loved this song so much especially because a lot of edits on tiktok were made to this song with pictures from Manga stories etc. and I always feel like the protagonist in a story with this song
YOU really get it!!! Dan takes us on the journey of coming into the reality of GODS Grace and growing into it and the realization of our blessed assurance.... The harmonica was a wise choice for what he wanted to convey which was the great hope we have because of GODS GRACE. The normal setting for this with bagpipes, is a funeral. That somberness is not what he wanted. He wanted to uplift and empower us as Christians. And to me he did just that. My soul soars everyday when I listen to this. It brings happy tears, and exciting chills!!! Listen to any of his performances and buckle up!! Angels we have heard on high is another one....American TRILOGY, Love Me TENDER, LOCH Lomand, just pick a song!!! He is a bold Christian. FEARLESS is the name of his band. They have an album of songs written from the old testimate. Dan is wise and extremely hard working. He has trained hard with his voice. Check out his AFRICA. He is real and not afraid to share his life. In 2017 he lost his dad to cancer. 9 days later he released American TRILOGY. You can clearly see tears in his eyes. The first time I heard them di this song it was a video of their luve performance and I didn't yet appreciate Tim's range. But when he "JOKINGLY" goes high but then goes subsoniclly low it the end it just really shows his range off.

Hard to have a favorite in #homefree but Chance's solos tend to dominate my playlist. Check out his recent solo release of Leave Her Johnny/Lowlands, on his channel. It's incredible.
Tim and Chance did a beautiful job on this song. I am glad that Tim started this song. The harmonies are beautiful. I love Tim's voice at the end of this song. I agree with you about Tim's Last note. I agree with you about HOME FREE ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Loved that they split it up between Tim and Chance (still mostly Tim, though. I don't mind). In the past it was a one-man lead of Tim's with the others on the harmonies. Gives it a new spin for a song they've performed at least ever since the Sing-Off 2013 (and still Rupp and Austin had trouble recording their parts of the video...). Tim get's high in a couple of Home Free videos. The most known is probably Mayday. But he went high in Do You Hear What I Hear, All About That Bass, I've Seen and Snow Globe (for this one he took practical Austin's usual place) and maybe a couple of others. Those are the ones I remember off the top of my head. You should check out some of his solo stuff, too, though. There he not only shows off his entire range but also the control he has over it. They are awesome. Austin does runs more often than anyone else, but Tim can do them just as well. The others too, though. They've released a BTS video of Adam Bell-Bastien (called Bastien, pronounced Basteen) of his first weekend with live performances with the guys. They included a short snipped where you can hear him very well. I think he'll fit right in (he doesn't sound like Austin, of course, but that would have been wrong. They are different persons and have their own unique skills and talents).
Bob. Something else you should watch, even do a Reaction to it. Angelina Jordon. 10 years in the making. Clips of some of Angelina's songs over the last 10 years. With interviews. Very fasinating. I think it is even in Angelina Jordan Official Channel. on you tube.
Hi Bob. What you might not Know is Angelina Had a Concert at the West Gate Hotel toward the beginning of the year. At this concert she Sang a brand new song called ( Princess Of Ruins.) this is about the story of why she Performs Bare Foot in her Concerts. Such a beutifull song. With so many of her other songs and open the concert with Diamonds are for ever. She sang around 40 songs including both concerts. Yes she had 2 concerts back to back on 29th of February. You should get the songs from James Thiel'S RU-vid channel as he has the best footage. Sound and video. Most people who were taking film of the concerts sent them to James. He put all the concert together and made an outstanding video of the full concert with Angelina talking to the fans as well. Just type in Angelina Jordon, Princess Of Ruins, James Thiel. Like, subscribe, to him too. He is a great place to get information from. Injoy.
The first time I really heard this song was on a voiceplay short and I was confused as to why no other version had Geoff’s yodel-ly run haha. This version by home free though is just perfect in my opinion. As much as I love Tim’s voice I really love Chance’s sections, he’s probably my favourite voice in the group.
They used this song live in several concerts. When Tim did his high runs, everybody stopped. The (other) tenors would object to him singing in ‘our’ range. Tim ‘repented’ and went back to the bass range. His last note was one of those subterranean speaker destroying notes.
Now I must give you some Chance leads to react to. His voice is warm and velvety, a storyteller. “I Can’t Outrun You”- Chance in his lower register, and he directed the video. It’s 5 part harmony, and hauntingly beautiful. “Cover Me Up”- an emotional delivery by Chance, and let the video play out as there is a surprise. “Some Girls Do”, Born in the USA”, and he plays guitar in it. I actually prefer HF version to the original. It really captures the feel of a protest song. “Yours”, “Dive Bar Saints”. Also, with the Hound and the Fox,”Wayfaring Stranger” on his Adam Chance channel. Also on that channel “Song for Home”, which he wrote. On Adam Chance- topic channel “Far From Any Road”, and Adam Rupp provides percussion and bass guitar. There is also a female singer whose voice goes well with Chance’s.
I know it’s not really a Chance lead song but I have to add his “helplessly hoping” intro just gives my heart goosebumps! ❤ Oh and his solo cover of “Mrs potters lullaby” 😍
That was such a great remake of this song! Nice to hear Chance singing some of the lines. Always loved Tim's crazy low notes along with his fabulous highs. Also love Adam's cool percussion sounds in this version too. There are some older live versions of this song that are very funny.
I'm so glad you got to this one in a timely manner! lol I also love Chance's voice because of its' texture. Wishing he'd get more lead parts for their music. I did see a video yesterday as they had a new guy, Adam(great another Adam) Bastien singing with them at the Grand Ol' Opry. He seems to do pretty good. Don't know if he's permananent or their just trying hi out. Thank you for what you do.
Chance has quite a few leads, but certainly not as many as the others. Baritone leads are thin on the ground, and like this, if it is a bass lead, most of the time Tim takes it - at least partially. Adam Bell-Bastien is a permanent part of the group now.
Adam Bastien (bass-teen) is the new guy. They have a six minute video of snippets from his first performance(s) with HF. He has a great voice. No one will ever ‘replace’ Austin, but it seems as if Bastien will bring an amazing new sound much like Chance did after Chris Rupp left the group. If you want a preview, he, Chris Rupp, Tristan Rupp, and one more person made up 7th Avenue, and they have videos on RU-vid.
You crack me up. Glad you left that last part in. Love their version of this, and this is the vest version of their previous version, imo. Tim always astounds me even though I know it's coming. His vocal control is amazing with his vocal runs as well as his range. Love Adam's brush sounds. This I have heard was Austin's last video. Adam Bastien (another Adam, yes) is the newest member of Home Free. His voice is spectacular and blends great with the guys. HF put out a little welcome video for Bastien if you want to check it out. They show some clips of him showing off his skills towards the end. Great fit for the guys, in my opinion.
Yes, Austin is leaving the group, to go solo but most importantly...to start a family. He's based in Nashville. Adam Bastien is the new member..going by 'Bastien' of course. And he keeps the HF height at 6'2" (all through 6'1" thru 6'4"). HF released a video introducing/featuring 'Bastien' at the Grand Old Opry'. They sang the OJays "Love Train"...enjoy.
They are releasing 2 more videos that will have Austin in them. Austin has left the group a lot earlier than expected and Adam Bastien Aka Bastien has taken his place. Bastien used to sub for one of the tenors when Home Free first started and also was a member of Chris Rupp's group 7th Ave Bastien did his first concert with Home Free at the Country Rumble Fest in Lima,Ohio June 21 and The Grand Ol Opry June 22 and he did amazing They now have 3 Adam’s in the group so they opted to be called by last names less confusing that way. They filmed a video in Nashville with Bastien now we wait for it to be released. Home also released a welcome video it on RU-vid now called Adam Bastien’s First Weekend.
This was a great rendition of the song! I have to admit, I had to play the ending a few times over to be able to catch that low note in the sub-basement. 😆

I'm sad he's decided to leave, but his voice is great with or without home free....just as all of theirs are. His happiness with his home life is more important then our happiness with what he's doing. None of them are our dancing monkies. He will be missed for sure, though.
@@princessButtercupp The downturned mouth which cannot smile has done her best to destroy the great gift. Perhaps she has succeeded. Austin will let his talent go to waste just as Avi Kaplan has. Home life will be a daily reminder of how stupid he was to walk away from the group. When you have a talent like that it is a crime to throw it away. I can't believe the downturned non-smile has done this but she has and evidently is quite pleased with herself. What a sad waste. The group should have reduced the concert schedule. That is probably the hard part of the business. Being on the road too much. They should have slowed down to stay together. Ah well we had a lot of good recordings with Austin. I'm thankful for them. There are certain people who pretend to smile but do not smile at all. They are not to be trusted for they live a lie. ..
@@princessButtercupp Nobody implied that they are our “dancing monkeys”. He’s doing what he wants,it’s his life. Just making observations that this may turn out to be a mistake.
@robynmatheson7687 Or a huge success. This is coming from somebody who doesn't care for the skits and stuff he's putting out. He does have major tallent and their is no reason to think that success won't follow him. He's lived almost his whole adult life and the road and wants a large break. I just don't think it's our place to say that is a mistake for him. This is the life most of us have....spending more time at home then at work. He deserves to have that if he's burned out. The negativity about isn't fair. And again.... I'm sombody also that would far prefer him with the group then solo.
