This is Dimash’s dream for humanity. It should be the dream for all of humanity, but the “Pipers” are often misleading people with their words and their agendas. When I first watched this MV, it broke me, I became very emotional, it was heart wrenching, to say the least! 😢 Have you noticed that Dimash is the main solder right from the very beginning of the war scene, when he was walking under the overpass, also when he was shot in the arm, many people miss that? Dimash has worked very hard for 3 years composing the music for this song, and around 20 days to make this MV. It turned out to be his most valuable MV, in the ideological sense, ever made, a real Masterpiece! I believe that Dimash deserves THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE for his selfless hard work and tireless efforts, not only for this MV, but for trying to bring the world together in love, peace, and harmony and through his many charities. He is a Legend in the making and will go down in History. This is my breakdown of the story, as I see it: This mini movie is full of symbolisms, it's the story of 3 youths, and the necklace which was created by the young Dimash and shared with his friends symbolizing lifelong friendship and unity. The boys both loved the same girl, but she loved Dimash, so the other boy grew resentful over time, started a war, using the symbol of the necklace given to him by his friend Dimash, as the crest on his army uniform. 1) Dimash, was the boy drowning at the beginning and at the end. 2) The Piper, is the one who saved Dimash, became the leader, and was killed by Dimash at the end. 3) The young girl, who died in childbirth, became Dimash’s future wife, had two children together; a daughter who was killed by the Piper's army; and the birth of a son who inherited the necklace from his mother…, they were all affected by the war. “People are the caravan…. Life is the way”: Dimash spoke these words in Kazakh, when he found his daughter dead. For the symbolic aspects, Dimash is showing the different cultures and religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hindi, etc.), through throat singing, which is called the REQUIEM (mass for the souls of the dead), from different religions. The Pilgrim or (Shepard or a Wise Man) at the end of the video was Dimash’s baby boy, born in his image and grows up to guide the Representatives of different religions and race from different Nations to the light, for a new beginning living together in peace, tolerance, love, and harmony. War here is a means of expressing the contrast of what happens when we lose love for one another. Story: The clip is divided into several parts. One day the friend saves the protagonist when he almost drowns. The three children are friends and their common external symbol is the necklace (gnonom). Both boys are in love with the girl. But she decides on 'Dimash'. The other boy feels hurt. The pendant is a gnomon, the shadow hand of a sundial, which also served as a sea compass before antiquity. Uniform wearers wear this symbol on their heads. So it can't work. It's war. Lilia wrote the lyrics, but guided by the story he wanted to tell, including the screenplay which I think he had already sketched out in fairly detailed form relatively early in the song's 3 year development arc. He started actively developing this song as Covid emerged in 2020, but it was also a natural progression after another of his earlier compositions, War & Peace. And the seeds go back to his childhood, and thoughts about the kinds of themes he saw in art such as the Kazakh folk song Samaltau, one of his favorites, a story grounded in Russia's conscription of Kazakhs in 1916 to die in WW1. I know the instrument you mentioned as a "Jew's Harp". There's a wikipedia page for it. Yeah, he gets shot too. The point is that if you kill, you're part of the loop of killing. That's why his emphasis is on the child, and choosing life, not the dead. Your emotional reaction is entirely understandable. Last year he met with the pope and sunni grand imam to share this video, with UN folk in the last month, and spending much time with Kazakh's president in the last few weeks. All that was said is true and for some reason our leader lead us to distruction rahter than some sensible ways of finding common ground which all of us share. We are all equal on this Earth and all are very temporary, so why decieve people in believing that some part of the Earth is "evil", and some are "good", depending which side you are on. Crazy part is, he started working on this 3 years before release. He told us he is working on something that is on his mind for some time. And probably a year before release he gave us a clip (without sound) when working with orchestra. This was before all this awful new wars, new killing.
