Very happy (and jealous!) that you got to see Dimash in Dubai! Dimash was supposed to be the young boy who was saved by his good friend “Piper”. The little girl and Dimash married and had a daughter (killed by the soldiers acting on behalf of [the] “Piper” and the catalyst for Dimash to kill the leader.). The stress of the attack on her home and her subsequent escape, led to the premature and hidden birth of the son while the father (Dimash) seeks out Piper to end his tyranny by shooting him. Of course, it was a suicide mission since Piper’s followers executed him quickly and he returned to his younger near-death experience in the water. The infant boy grows up to resemble his father and joins the peaceful procession who strive for communication and understanding among all peoples. Very poignant masterpiece both visually and vocally.

This was quite an innovation too, but in a different way. Please could you react to it?

The lyricist isn't even English, they is Russian . He is surrounded by non-English speakers so that explains a lot. Today, at the Kazakh artist’s fan meeting with his fans, the audience saw the MV to this work for the first time. The film is based on a story written by Dimash, with his own screenplay. The clip is divided into several parts. The first one is about childhood. The main character, his 2 friends are connected by childhood stories and symbols of eternal friendship. One day the friend saves the Protagonist when he drowns. However, there is already competition in this children’s story, as the boys are in love with one girl, and she chooses one. The second experiences a kind of psychological breakdown and transfers the children’s problems into the adult world of totalitarianism and struggle. The main character also speaks of unity, of peace, but through the lens of kindness and love. While fighting, he is confused, he is in shock, but he has to save his family - his pregnant wife (the very girl from his childhood) and his daughter. Once home, he is horrified by the picture of the dead and realizes that his family is also dead. After surviving this drama, he moves on to the antagonist to seek revenge. However, the Protagonist’s wife survives with the help of people who know that she is the one who must give birth to a special boy who can save the world. These are people of different nationalities and faiths who have united for peace. When I first watched this MV, it broke me, I became very emotional, it was heart wrenching, to say the least! 😢 Have you noticed that Dimash is the main solder right from the very beginning of the war scene, when he was walking under the overpass and when he was shot in the arm, many people miss that? Dimash has worked very hard for 3 years composing the music for this song, and around 20 days to make this MV. It turned out to be his most valuable MV, in the ideological sense, ever made, a real Masterpiece! I believe that Dimash deserves THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE for his selfless hard work and tireless efforts, not only for this MV, but for trying to bring the world together in love, peace, and harmony, through his music, MVs and many charities he dedicates his time to. He is a Legend and will go down in History. The mini movie is full of symbolisms, it's the story of 3 youths, and the necklace which was made by the young Dimash and shared with his friends symbolizing lifelong friendship and unity. The Piper grew up and started a war, using the symbol of the necklace as the crest on his army uniform. This is my breakdown of the story, as I see it: 1) Dimash, who was drowning at the beginning and at the end. 2) The Piper, the one who saved Dimash, and who became the leader, and who was killed by Dimash at the end. 3) The young girl, who died in childbirth, became Dimash’s future wife, had two children together; a daughter who was killed by the Piper's army; and the birth of a son at the end, who inherited the necklace from his mother…, they were all torn by the war. For the symbolic aspects, Dimash is showing the different cultures and religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hindi, etc.), through throat singing, which is called the REQUIEM (mass for the souls of the dead), from different religions. The Pilgrim, Shepard, or Wise Man at the end of the video was Dimash’s newborn son, born in his image and grows up to guide the Representatives of different religions and race from different Nations to the light, for a new beginning living together in peace, tolerance, love and harmony. A Mini-Movie with a Maxi-Msg. The music here, spectacular and innovative as Dimash usual, is background to the visuals. Some of the references are subtle and some of the transitions between scenes are a little fast / unclear. Dimash is the boy who was saved. The friend who saved him becomes the Dictator. Dimash dies at the end and in the process is reliving the whole of his life. At the moment of dying his spirit is reborn, entering the body of his newborn son. Here is where the transition confuses. It shows the march of all peoples and all faiths moving together towards a bright new future - as if frozen in time. It doesn't show the timeline of the child, now grown and joining the march of all forward. The medallion is the connecting symbol that is meant to represent this. The message is clear. We all live on this one 'Pale Blue Dot' - this One Planet, all Under One Sky and it's about time we learned to live together peacefully, before it's too late.

#1 the smile upon reviving from the near death makes me think that in that short time, he saw something wonderful. #2 I have watched several times and I guess I miss where the wife dies in childbirth but the final scene is open to interpretation. It could be the Dimash character in the afterlife, joining others who died or perhaps it is a different timeline where people choose life or it could be the infant, now grown and leading the world toward choosing a path of life. Anyway you see it the message is clear. We need to stop heedlessly following the "pipers" who lead into conflict for their own selfish reason and we need to start talking with each other, learning from each other, finding our common ground rather than looking for what is different (unless to accept it) and work together to solve the problems of our world. In some areas of the world, there are generations that have never lived in a time of complete peace. That is sad.

These are my views on this amazing masterpiece Story of One Sky - I have watched this many times and still find things out that i never thought of amazing video and i have said it before if anyone could bring peace i strongly believe Dimash could make it possible. This needs to be shared worldwide to show people there is another way. War is never the answer because the only ones to suffer are the innocent. Rewatched the song of Dimash today one line stood out to me One of the most profound lines in The Story of One Sky is the line "Learn to share the love, Not shares" Not shares meaning stop making money out of war rich people have many shares in companies that profit from weapon manufacturing making them richer while the innocent suffer sadly this is why war exists. MONEY, GREED and POWER. The boy who was drowning was (Dimash's character as a child) made the necklaces that were given to the girl who grew up to be (Dimash's pregnant wife) and the boy who saved him who (grew up to be the military leader), possibly out of jealousy. The military leader waged his war The part in the video with the little girl and the people in the hallway were Dimash's family who had been wiped out the little girl whose body he picked up was his daughter, the baby that was born was his son who grew up to be Dimash grown up at the end!!! The Dimash at the end can also be seen as Dimash in the afterlife leading others to the light in peace. The This video needs to be shown worldwide. Something else i noticed is in his dying breath he sang (We're Choosing Life) as he finally passed away now that is powerful

This song is a "modern" multicultural interfaith Requiem (the traditional Requiem is a song for the Mass of the Dead in the Catholic Church. The best known requiem is by Mozart I think). The Requiem usually has 2 parts: one mourning death and the other celebrating life. Dimash says in a low voice: Адам керуен, өмір жол. Man is a caravan, life is a road. (Kazakh proverb) So for me, the caravan is his (and our) inner world. Religiosity is in us, the religious man dies when a part of the soldier (Dimash) dies when he finds his daughter dead. So when he seeks revenge, there's a storm. Death follows death: Piper dies but the soldier (Dimash) dies too. Death is not the answer. And so violence is not the way (You can murder the "bad guy" but if everybody thinks that violence is an answer, another "bad guy" will appear for sure.) And then we see that his son made a better decision... His son joins others in seeking peace. That is the final answer. Hug from Brazil 😍🇧🇷

In The Story Of One Sky he sings the whole soundtrack himself. The video shows once again that Dimash is an absolute genius. In singing but also as an actor and as a storyteller. The powerful message conveyed by this video is more relevant today than ever. I think this video is mostly about the message. This message however, is for the first time more important than his vocal abilities. His voice is just the tool in this video. But simply unbelievable. His singing is indescribable and I don’t have the words to express it adequately. But it is only the mediator of what this video is about. This is so heartbreaking and sad and an awesome masterpiece. Pure goosebumps. You probably have to see it more than once to understand it. He worked on this composition for three years and also wrote the screenplay. The premiere was on September 24, 2022. As some have mentioned, this video should be seen by many people. It may be very brutal for some. But let’s not forget that for many, including children, this is everyday life in some countries. And Dimash relentlessly shows us how ugly war is. Dimash was the little boy who was drowning in the beginning and he gave the necklace to his childhood friend (and future leader) and the girl. The girl on the beach was his future wife. And she gave birth to her second child in the video. The littel girl who was shot was Dimashs and her first daughter. Desperation and maybe revenge has led him to kill his former friend. But violence always breeds violence, and because of this, not only is the leader dead, but so is Dimash. Dimash in the last sequence of the video was the baby that was born and now as a grown man unites people of different nationalities and religions for peace. By the way, he was also the soldier who was shot in the arm in the house at the beginning. The girl in the beginning is Dimashs wife, the little girl who got killed is his daughter, it is assumed his wife died giving birth to their son..... The story is actually about what's taking place now, Dimash made it a beautiful but sad short story about three friends Dimash almost drowned until his friend saved his life Who later turned out to be the dictator who killed Dimashs daughter he doesn't know where his pregnant wife is, assuming she's dead and he feels he has nothing left to live for so he kills his once best murdering friend.

Dimash is steeped in sacred music and has a deep understanding of the music teachings and symbolism of the major world religions as well as Kazakh shamanism. It is not by coincidence that the first performance of this work took place on September 14 at the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. The written statement at the end of the video is directly from the “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together”, signed jointly on February 4, 2019, by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmed el-Tayeb. Dimash met and spoke (and received a medal from Pope Francis for his contributions to the World of Peace) with both men at the September meeting. Everything Dimash does is intentional, and this piece has layers that would take a dissertation to unravel. I’ll only touch on some of what struck me. 1 The pendant is an interesting element. It is a gnomon from a maritime compass sundial. This triangular blade is attached to the sundial, casting a shadow on the sundial, while the perforated pinhole projects the image of the sun onto the dial. It was used for both timekeeping and navigation, with the gnomon oriented to True North. In the Music Video, the child who later becomes the military commander never puts on the necklace. After Dimash, the boy, gives his friend the pendant, the camera focuses on his hand and shows that his friend has bent the gnomon in anger over being rejected by the girl. Thus bent, it can never be oriented to True North, and he has lost his moral compass. Later, we see a version of the gnomon, but distorted and without the hole that allows light to shine through, as the military insignia on the uniforms of the commander and his soldiers. 2 Contemporary music is also present: with the phrase “We have passed the moment of Imagine”, Dimash reminds us that we are past the sentiments evoked by the song “Imagine” by John Lennon. It is time to stop dreaming about a world of peace and harmony. If we choose life, if we wish for peace, if we want a world without war for our children and grandchildren, we must act and take up the long hard path up the mountain towards the light. It is the only way. 3 The storyline is a very human one: we start as innocents until our hearts are broken, we fail, or our dreams are not realized. If in our pain and disappointment we turn to anger and blame instead of acceptance, power instead of love, greed and envy instead of generosity, hatred instead of forgiveness, and revenge instead of justice, we sow the seeds for conflicts that can turn into war. 4 The Piper’s Call is seductive as it promises redress for our grievances, control over our circumstances, and power over those who thwarted us, and this appeals to our wounded ego. However, let’s remember that the Piper is a symbolic figure of Death from the Middle Ages, often used as a metaphor for trusting and following charismatic but dangerous and malevolent leaders to certain death. Even if we resist, as the adult Dimash character does, we often employ the same methods and weaponry as the Piper, and thus those who fight back betray peace as well because peace cannot be won through violence. That is the dilemma of those of us who did not start the war, who do not support war, but are forced to respond in order to defend ourselves and those we love. How can we rid the world of evil without becoming what we fight against? 5 The burning sign “Waldenburg” is a reference to the end of WWII, when the US Army destroyed the last of the resistance by the German Wehrmacht to end the war in April of 1945. Many of the dead were women and children, because all men ages 15 through 75 were mobilized. So, the good guys defeated evil, but at what price? 6 The last movement is powerful: The cries over the loss of a beloved child and the cries of giving birth to new life are presented as a call-and-response grounded by a powerful Om chant that creates a sacred space, reminding us that death and life are both sacraments and are interwoven. Dimash’s vocalization and the pilgrims representing world religions and religious leaders, past and present, walking together shift the narrative toward the final conflict and finally redemption. When Dimash’s character decides to avenge the murder of his daughter, his state of consciousness is reflected in the darkening sky with lightning bolts of anger accompanying the storm of his emotions that struck the pilgrims sharply. The fog of war obscures the light. When he is killed after exacting retribution, he is dropped back into the “sacred womb” of Earth, the ocean of love and mercy and is cleansed of the old hatreds and grievances that only bring more death and suffering. He breaks the wheel of endless war by choosing life. Dimash’s scream “We’re choosing life” is that of giving life: the old earthly consciousness of an eye for an eye has to die to make way for a new spiritual consciousness that embraces all life. Soul is breaking free to return to its natural state of love and purity as examplified by the images of the children and the newborn baby. The blowing of the shofar signals God’s mercy for humankind when it turns from wrong to right. Reborn as a leader for peace and love, Dimash’s character becomes a guide for all of mankind on our shared journey up the mountain towards the light of God, however we may interpret or name the divine. We are all on the same path, even if our personal narratives, cultural heritage and spiritual orientations are very different from one another. By focusing on our common destination rather than on our differences, we can walk together in peace and love and mutual respect. Dimash is showing us how. Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who founded analytical psychology, wrote: “Knowing your own darkness is the best method for dealing with the darknesses of other people. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely. Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” This is what Dimash has done with this work: he has made the darkness conscious. We can only raise our individual and collective consciousness by bringing to light what needs to be healed in our lives and our world, and then we need to work together to restore wholeness to what is broken and bring about peace and unity, one step at a time.” We don’t have to wait. We can start right now. This is Dimash’s message to those in power. He urges them to follow their hearts. He tells them that nothing that exists is, or could ever be, outside of God. We are never outside of God - and never without God within us.
