Dime’s epitaph says it best! He came to Rock... and Rocked like no other With the Heart twice the Size of Texas, our Beloved Brother, Companion, Mentor Idol and Friend... We Love You Dime... Until we meet again
their music proceeds to help me through.. i just wish i could take lots of shots of black tooth grin with dime an vin. the only thing we have left is their music.
@Tracey Sykes or fists , but unfortunately gun violence is a reality . To think that not selling them anymore or not selling certain types of guns will stop the violence are the ideas of a child.
What separates him I think, was his ability to just play anything at any moment without one hesitation in his own style. His faculty for the fretboard was like 100% hand, eye, brain coordination. Whereas us mortals are at 80% at best.
2004 hit me hard, Some crazy asshole assainated Dime, Christmas a couple weeks later, my mom killed herself. I still play guitar.. but...all my influences are dead ( im old)
I remember reading a quote from Rita somewhere that dime wasn’t happy with how Damageplan wasn’t getting the popularity he’d hoped for and he was considering reaching out to Phil and Rex to get things back together but it never came to be because the worst happened.
@@JayASMR I saw Phil and The Illegals open for Slayer last year! Phil Brought it big time! And dedicated the show to Dime and Vinny! Pantera would have Reunited For Sure!🤘🏻🔥✨
@@Mike4metal in recent weeks, PanterA has reformed with Phil, Rex, Zakk Wylde and Charlie Bennete of Anthrax to do select shows in honor of the Abbott Boys!
@@Mike4metal Phil was the reason Pantera quit. Vinnie and Dimebag should have taken another singer. You an replace Phil, but you can't replace Dimebag.
Dime was willing to help any one and learn any one how to play Guitar. He did not care about fame even though he used it well. He was a fan first then a guitar player in a famous band. But ONE HELL of a Guitar Player.
We miss this man...man and I ytell ya Why...Dimebag was so humble, sharing his skills, his "tricks" sort of speak... but of course not everyone had his flying hands... I mean Ther's only ONE DIME. (sorry Hendrix fans) and his soul remains in every mo'fucka' that share somthing with him.
Such an inspiration to so many, just very sad that he and his brother were taken from us, my mother is buried maybe 75 feet away from Dime Vinny and there mother, so that puts my mind at ease a little just knowing there all together laughing it up and trying to explain to my mom why I was so obsessed about metal music maybe they have shed some light on that for her, lol, miss all of you so much, peace, love, and respect, thank you all for the endless memories.
It's always good to hear Dime jamming out just himself without the band behind him. You can checkout how every note sounded. If you have any other videos like this point me in the direction on where to check them out at. Too bad Randy Rhoads didn;t have any videos like this.Getcha Pull!!
In bed up by 10.am and up 5 hours before that a couple shots then on a plane to rock the hell out of a crowd!!!!! Miss you dime I watch your videos all the time it keeps me in check how valuable life can be your was taken from us way to soon.
I like how this lesson is raw, no formal intro like im playing a this guitar these pickups through a this amp and that pedal, just turns it up and plays! Thats Dimebags character right there! One of a kind!
This guitar has a single coil neck pick-up, and humbucker in the bridge. 24 fret model (the white dual dots of the 24th fret are right next to the single coil neck pickup, and with the grainy-ish footage makes it look like a zebra HB is there, but not the case. Check the web for pics of this guitar). He is indeed using that neck pick-up a lot
@@aidanfeighery6634 Ah ok. Makes sense now, thanks for explaining. I've messed with guitars a little and always swore single coils were more powerful, so this explains dime's guitar playing lol. Not saying that he couldn't pick up a washboard and master it lol
@@bandolierboy1908It looks like a typical Strat pick-up. To see pics of the guitar, type 'Dimebag Darrell Damageplan green guitar' for instance into Google web browser, and several pics of it are presented.
After all these years and after all that went down I'm Happy as Hell to know Dime lived like there was no tomorrow with EVERYTHING including his Cholesterol... Getcha Pull ! lol
Best metal guitar player ever. He did it all, iconic riffs while shredding better than the pioneers of metal. But his shredding had soul unlike todays shredders that play so robotic.
I always come back to you when I feel alone, Dime. You’re so dearly special to me, and I’m so thankful for your existence, you deserved way better. I hope the world will see you once again, someday.. I hope you’re happy wherever you are now, doing what you loved the most
What a humble man! My favorite guitar player ever. I could watch Dime do these lessons all day and I don't even play. Love you bro! You are still helping all of us make it thru the hard times. 2021 and this will always be 🔥. I got me a pull brother 🤘
Why are there so few videos of dime! So many people probably have some old VHS tape that they filmed back in the day in a box in their garage. Upload it to RU-vid!
Que lastima Dimebag. Un guitarrista único y talentoso. Cómo se nota que está tratando de tocar algo forzadamente distinto a PanterA. Pero él es PanterA. RIP ABOTT BROTHERS
This guy was and still is more loved than Jesus Christ himself and rightfully so what an incredible human being but lord what a wicked guitarist too never gets old... \..../\m/
Steven Little I wouldn't go that far.I loved Dime too & it was tragic what had happened to him.The most horrible thing any of us ever seen of a musician getting assassinated by the powers that be on a stage during a live concert. But if you asked him if he is willing to die on a cross for the whole world.I don't think Dime who was so full of life would've even wanted to attempt to go through what Christ went through! He went through more than what that chopped up,distorted book says.Like Roman soldiers urinating on Him,throwing donkey dung on Him & other horrific stuff.Dime at least didn't see it coming but he did die like Christ did in the fact that he died doing what he loved for people. But there is only one Christ & no man was above Him! And also His 1st name wasn't Jesus. That is one of the biggest deceptions ever told to man.Jesus translated in Greek in which the Bible was translated from means "Hail Zeus".Which is one of many names of Satan too.And even brainwashed Christians won't even research that fact!
@@kaydenpedersen4949 dime believed in God as his close friend zakk said, so stfu and get your edgy ass somewhere else, you creeps are like jesus freaks who are obsessed with idolizing everything you want and shit on things you dislike, what a fucking lame move, i LOVE dimebag but i can't get him higher that what he saw himself lesser than
I got here from another home video he recorded. In that he spoke as though it was to some specific person. I assume he recorded it intending to send it to that person rather than for general release. I'm not sure of the dates of any of these but he was taken from us before RU-vid came along. (From the video's low quality and his appearance, I assume this is mid-to-late 1990s)
These were actually private lessons he recorded for someone. I can’t remember if it was related to his guitar world lessons column or not but these were made for someone. Maybe a make a wish foundation thing like for some dying kid.
He was doing lessons for Guitar World magazine. They accompanied the magazine on a DVD. It was probably to add to those lessons. I remember I had that issues and DVD.
My rock guitarist Mt. Rushmore (in I guess chronological order): - Hendrix - Rhodes - Eddie VH - ^^^ this guy (Dimebag) Everybody, I'm sure, has their own pantheon of Guitar Heroes. That's mine.
Dimebag is my second favorite, Trey azagthoth from nobody Angel is my first..... And I know people are going to have problems with my taste of who I put first and who I put second on my list...which is fine, but I look at there styles like apples and oranges....being a guitarist myself, the only reason I put some second is because he kinda sticks to the pentatonic mostly, where Trey does some mysterious shit...(some dude told me all Trey does is chromatic shit,I beg to differ) but that said, dime is my main dude with what he does man...his leads get me in my feelings like no other...trendkill is my shit....wish he was still here...luv u dime, wherever u are....
Haha, dime is still around cuz he trolled me when I tryed to say morbid angel, something changed it to nobody Angel.......he didn't like I said he was no.2 on my list....lol..
just an amazing video . i remember when it came out in a guitar world magazine, wish i still had that copy around... man time flies RIP DIME, not a day goes buy i dont think about you and music!!!!! \mmm/
