@@fredjones3135 Well well well we have someone not mature enough for the internet. Listen part of being an adult and raising kids is to over look what people say. I teach my kids not to infringe on peoples rights. When you start with one thing it snow balls. Trying to tell someone how they can and can’t speak is just plain stupid. An adult and a child that’s parented right will just over look it and say oh. This guy likes to say fuck every 10 seconds. It’s just part of being an adult or a mature child. Just say ohh this guy is different and go on. But trying to dictate what people do or say when you have no authority to do so is just narcissistic and arrogant Words mean absolutely nothing. When I was 5yrs old I was in a helicopter crash and both pilots were killed and I was the only one to survive because I layed down. That’s what I call a bad day. People that stress over a stupid word some random moron uses is just crazy. Unless you are an employer and you have an employee using words where you have authority to do something about it.
wicked !! .. from a U.K perspective .. this is EXACTLY what I imagine a small town in Texas looks like .. (!).. ( the sirens just made it even better , thanks ;)
this is one of the very best ambiences on youtube! Im subscribing just because of this video! How many sirens are there heard, it sounds like there are 455 sentries!
No mistake. That is a wall cloud. Just before we got there it had set a small tornado down but went right back up. But it sure was trying to do it again.
I never heard sirens like that when I lived there. Born and grew up there until 1982. Then moved to Borger . I only remember sirens once but nothing like those. Glad everyone was ok. And nothing major.
I thinks its a Fedelcode 5. It's off to the right of us about 2 blocks. If you want to google it, search Dimmitt Texas maps. On the east side of town intersection SE 3rd and E. Bedford. Just south of the corner. Can be seen well on street view. They also have a 612 and 2 STH-10's Yes, that Screamer sounds amazing! Wanted to get back an get a vid of it but hard to get away these days. Thanks!!
@NCOProductions Dimmitt has a EOWS 612, (the high pitch sound), 1 Screamer (the loudest heard), 2 Federal Model 7's ( The other one you can hear) and and STH-10. (To far away to hear). None are seen in the video. We went back a few weeks later to find all of them.
Texas is in tornado alley,so,do they only have them in tornado alley? because here in Canada we saw a funnel cloud sort of start going down right above us and there were no alarms.
The Darley or Fedelcode siren is S. of Bedford on SE 3rd. Screamer SW 6th and Bedford at Fire Dept. There is a model 7 off of 385 on the west side of the hwy somewhere but can't remember exactly.
They are a big deal here in Tornado Alley. Most all municipalities have them. Houston isn't prone to tornados unless hurricanes I'm assuming. City of Lubbock just installed a very large system. Here in Amarillo, there are about 100 of them. Thanks for the nice comment!
@w3tBaCk8ohh6XD420 Do you know what time? We would like to make a trip back there and do a video. Do they test them all year or just during the spring/ Summer. Thanks for helping us out on this!!
Sounds kinda like it but we found all sirens in Dimmitt and the only electronic is a 612 . There is a screamer, Fedelcode model 7 type, STL-10, and Model 7 and of course the Federal 612.
Tough to answer. If radar indicates possible tornado approaching then the sirens are activated and a warning is issued. Here in Amarillo, they activate for 5 minutes with possible re-activation if needed. We usually have 10-20 minutes warning time. But, they sometimes just form real quick with little warning. The storm above was hardly moving so sirens were a little late as they didn't really know which way it was moving. We watched it for about 10 minutes before sirens went off.
@sirenlover100 That would be correct. However, the loudest siren heard in this video is a Model 7 or the Screamer. They are both about the same distance from where we were taking this shot.
There is a Model 7 or Perhaps a Darley and a 612 electronic siren along with a Screamer that can be heard. There are also 2 STH-10s that are farther away and can't be heard in this vid.
The first one is the Darley then the Screamer. Also can hear the model 5 and then the 612. There is a STH-10 on the SW side of town by high school but can't hear that one.
Eows 612: 9th St between Andrews St and Dulin St STH-10: Western Circle and 16th st Model 7: Bedford and 3rd st Screamer: Stinson St and 7th st It looks like there could be one more, i am looking
Loghan wolfesin yea it true man we have had so many tornados form but never touch usually dimmitt doesn't have any tall buildings so we can actually see what is happening around town. Yea sirens not really scare us but tornados rarely! Touches down or make contact with the ground
I don't think your being mean. You may be right on the voltage but hopefully in the near future we can get a video of that siren alone and see what it sounds like up close and personal. Dimmitt is about a 75 mile drive from here but they do test every friday at noon. Thanks for the comments!!
It is loud and not to far away. Obviously the really high pitched siren in the 612. We are planning another trip down there soon to video the Screamer and a Darley. This town isn't very big but they have several sirens.
@superjoe87 There is a Screamer nearby and a Model 7 to the right of us. They also have a STH-10 but it is quite a ways behind us. I think the loudest you hear is the Sreamer. It is on the FD about 2-3 blocks away.
@MsBlackexstacy It's hard to tell. These sirens are phone line activated. As such, there may be someone in the control room or ems office that is actually pushing a button on for a few seconds then off for a few. We did not go into the courthouse to see, but I have heard of this type setup. who knows!! Thanks
The way the high pitch siren winds up fast with the lower pitch siren trailing behind it, kinda reminds me of the shop build siren in Colrain Twp, Ohio.
Hey man, I'm a storm chaser from Amarillo. This storm did indeed put down 2 tornadoes this day (I'm assuming this is May 25, 2010). One was just northwest of town near a feedlot, and the other was northeast of town. Both very brief and weak.
@carexpertandy Good question. As we drove closer to Dimmitt, the wall cloud was very obvious. We stopped in town and the cloud was dropping. I went to the courthouse doors where 2 sheriff's were standing and looking. I asked them if the sirens were going to come on. They went back in and a couple of minutes later...We have to go back and find the sirens and see what all is there. It's about an 80 mile drive from Amarillo. Been a stormy season around here. Thanks!!
@MsBlackexstacy You are correct about the screamer. However, there are no 2001's or Whelens. There is an EOWS 612 that is the electronic siren and model 7 or Darley. There is also STH10 but cant be heard here. Thanks! good ears. Was a really cool experience.
There are sirens all over. But some cities, even here, don't have them. Canada has tornados but not that many so the expense of putting them in probably doesnt make sense if they are never needed. There are sirens around nuclear plants and refineries.
@thecompanycar We think it is a Whelen siren. It rotates for sure. Hopefully soon we can make another trip there and see what all is there. Sounds pretty cool though!
@MrJDW123 Actually we haven't heard of those places. Wish it would rain here. Haven't had rain to speak of since October 2010. Always wanted to tour England and maybe someday but.... Keep watching. Maybe we will get some fall storms and if conditions are right, then we will be on our way to chasing more tornados. Thanks for writing us back.
@OceanaxFrederickx At the beginning when the sirens start, the wall cloud is very visible and the funnel had just gone back up. The storm was cycling. Towards the middle, you can see it try to re-form after we went east of town but it never did produce a real tornado. :( It would have been perfect too because there were no buildings or anything that would have been damaged. But great siren sounds. Thanks.
@kdksiren in 2005 one Tornado struck London and one struck Birmingham they dont happen in Lancashire its county in the north of England and I live in a town called Oswaldtwistle and we only get Rain sometimes it Thunders but the main storms would be in the central of England cuz its mostly flat there. Have you heard of Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers
@Xeadin101 We were suprised too. But we did go over afterwards and there it stood by a park to the left of where we were taking this vid several blocks over. Been wanting to go back and get a video. Maybe someday when time permits. Thanks!
kdksiren man you had just missed it dimmitt has just had the biggest f5 tornado less than 24 hours ago didn't destroy dimmitt but was heading towards dimmitt it was 1 mile wide wedge tornado
@nick06111226 We went around and looked at all the sirens in Dimmitt. That is a Screamer for sure. No Cyclones in Dimmitt. We have been unable to get a time when they test the sirens there.
I know, 14 years later, but the sirens in this video was a Federal Signal Model 7, a Whelen 4004, and some other siren. There’s no Screamer heard in this video
There are no Whelens (at that time. Haven't been back in yrs) There is a EOWs 612 that can be heard (Have video on my channel) and there is a screamer that can be heard as it a few blocks to the left in the video. We drove and found all sirens in Dimmitt. There were, as I recall, 2 model 2T22's also.
@@jetway756 If memory serves me right the first which is closest is the Model 7 or Fedelcode (not sure what is was) then the screamer is the next closest. Been a long time ago. I don;t think the 2t22's (there were 2 at that time in the town) were close enough to be heard. And of course the 612. Haven't been back since the recording of the 612. Not much help am I. Hs Ha!
@@kdksiren Haha it’s all good, this happened 14 years ago. I’m just stumped because the second siren sounds electric, not mechanical. The loudest one is definitely a Model 7
It was for sure trying to send down a funnel cloud. You can see above the tree it was dropping a scud with rotation, but couldn't do it. At around 2:34 on
@kdksiren Really? It doesn't sound like a 612.... But I'll take your word for it. Outside of the midwest, I've never known of locations of 612's. It sounds positively scary in attack.
We missed the first touchdown as we were driving in from Hereford. Hail was a problem. But did catch the small spin up east of town off of Hwy86. Probably passed each other! There were several people east of town with cameras and watching so who knows. Thanks!
