Who would have thought that there would be this many hits on a site with sirens? After more than 10 years and 50 videos we are still amazed at the interest in these. We have recorded every make of siren in Amarillo. Any others will be repeats of models already on this page (Unless a new one is found). Big thanks to everyone who watches our videos and has helped us identify the makes and models of each! May peace be with all!
I know, 14 years later, but the sirens in this video was a Federal Signal Model 7, a Whelen 4004, and some other siren. There’s no Screamer heard in this video
There are no Whelens (at that time. Haven't been back in yrs) There is a EOWs 612 that can be heard (Have video on my channel) and there is a screamer that can be heard as it a few blocks to the left in the video. We drove and found all sirens in Dimmitt. There were, as I recall, 2 model 2T22's also.
@@jetway756 If memory serves me right the first which is closest is the Model 7 or Fedelcode (not sure what is was) then the screamer is the next closest. Been a long time ago. I don;t think the 2t22's (there were 2 at that time in the town) were close enough to be heard. And of course the 612. Haven't been back since the recording of the 612. Not much help am I. Hs Ha!
@@kdksiren Haha it’s all good, this happened 14 years ago. I’m just stumped because the second siren sounds electric, not mechanical. The loudest one is definitely a Model 7
KDKSiren why don't you upload anymore? And I wanted to say nice cyclone video I live a few hundred miles from Amarillo live here in Texas but central texas lol
For the most part, all the old sirens have been replaced with 508's and 2001's. Nothing special there. Also, I'm now 25 yrs old and have to work and whatnot. Not allot of time left in the day. Hard to believe how long these vids have been up. Glad people still look though. Thanks for watching and asking questions. I do look at them and try to respond when I can.
@kdksiren I understand that it's hard to keep up with a lot of them and it's sad that Amarillo replaced their entire old siren system but can you make an update video of the cyclones in Hereford? If you can't that's fine you know? But I wish they kept these cyclones and thunderbolts and whatever sirens that were there!?
I never heard sirens like that when I lived there. Born and grew up there until 1982. Then moved to Borger . I only remember sirens once but nothing like those. Glad everyone was ok. And nothing major.
Yep. It was a sad day. Ha Ha. Travis came up to see us and record a vid. Went to re-visit this beast and well it was on death row for sure. It has been replace with a FS 508.
Don't know what happened to any of the old siren system. Probably went to auction but not sure. They took the old system completely out. All that is left is 2001's and 508's. Kinda dull. They wanted battery backup for the entire lot.
@@kdksiren well what I wish (this is my moms account) but I wish I had this same exact one on plum Creek drive but someday I will get it back and I will make a video of it and I live about 7 hours from Amarillo (in Burnet to be exact) but I hope I will get this beast and I think for X-Mas I am going to get a mini one of these beasts!
Would be nice. Probably won't ever do that though. The cost to make a rotor that is dual tone is more than single tone. I think Sentry is the only one that does large dual tone sirens. Could be wrong though.
125 dB. These have the 50 HP motor. Quite the attention getter. Sad they are no longer made or the City of Amarillo has anymore. They have all been replaced.
@kdksiren the way you can tell the difference in 125 and 120 is in the wattage? And also look at the design difference the Cyclone 120 has a flatter hat then the cyclone 125 the 125 has a much more pointier hat then the cyclone 120 Also KDKsiren nice cyclone video it's a shame! That they took out all there old sirens!
What number does a cyclone next to my house but it fell down and the light fell down to my house caught on fire and then my leg got injured because I had to save my baby and my mom because they were laying in the bed and I and my leg is gone nowmy legs are gone. It hurts so bad and I bumped my head.
@@pelicanstatesirens Still here. Look at comments from time to time. Wish there was something new around to take vid of. Hard to believe its been all these years. Will soon be 26 Years old. Gosh how time flies! Take care and thanks for the comments!
All are Cyclone's. There are no P-50's on the system. Actually there is nothing of the old system left. The only ones Amarillo uses now is 2001's and 508's.
