I'm surprised they showed no drumming in this video, like damn! At 5:16 there should definitely have been shots of Barker going nuts on the kit. Awesome song of course.
Great sound everything sounds clear and balance, drum, keyboard, guitars, bass, voices. Great balance, specially the drum sounds perfectly beast. Nicholas maybe is not the fastest and the most skillful one but he has written his name in the history of extreme metal drummers as icon as Pete Sandoval, Hell hammer, Trym and Gene Hoglan. They were in late 80th and 90th, who inspired the next drummers extreme metal generation even till now days.
Saw this live (with vortex) ages ago. Epic set. Incredible show too... the haunted, lamb of god, dimmu borgir, cannibal corpse. In that order. Vortex more or less stole the show.
First time I listened to this live, I was amazed with Vortex voice, that led me to a brief googling and I discovered Arcturus. Followed by hallucinating with Arcturus (especially with Shipwrecked in Oslo and Sideshow Symphonies albums) and then discover Borknagar. Highly recommend.
gone off this band now but still a few real stand out tracks from them this is definitely one, second clean vocals are way better than the album on this live version
F. Z. Galder couldn’t play that solo to save his life. He’s a good song writer but not much of a lead player. Astennu way better but they sacked him too
Too bad no Astennu, and Galder couldn't even be bothered to play his watered down version of the solo parts.. wow. What a shame, otherwise the perfect live recording...
