OREGON, Ohio (WTVG) -- Prost! If you have a hankerin' for some schnitzel, there's a secret cottage in the woods of Oak Shade Grove you need to visit.
The festival headquarters for the German American Festival is open to the public year-round! 12 years ago, it was converted into a full-time restaurant known as Black Forest Café, 3624 Seaman Rd, Oregon, OH 43616.
Black Forest Café operates as a non-profit 501(c)(3), donating back to the seven heritage charities that operate under the GAF umbrella, as well as other organizations and social groups in the Oregon area.
This building is filled with hand-carved wooden furniture, plus authentic German-American décor. It's a feast for the eyes, then a feast for the rest of your senses.
Today, we sample chicken and pork schnitzels, cucumber salad, potato pancakes, a giant pretzel, and, of course, German beer! Ein Prosit! Raise a glass to this Dine in the 419! #Dine419
