I understand now why ding dong is so good at Video Games that have basic mechanics. Because he's played games in his childhood that have a ludicrous amount of mechanics in it that don't explain there mechanics to begin with unless you've watched the iconic cartoon of said game.

I only ever saw your one Mario 64 stream and also I caught the game awards one you did right as they were announcing best game. So I'm glad that I can watch them whenever I want now! Also, I had this game (think I still do) and I didn't know about half of those mechanics you talked about!

This is the source of it all... this game is the reason Ding Dong sounds so tired and dead inside. It drained him of all hope and wonder and he has remained a husk ever since.

I don’t usually comment but thank you for this let’s play. While I was vomiting my brains out I was very soothed by this games soundtrack. This music is not at all hellish and will not haunt my own nightmares and remind me of this horrible sickness I have. :)

Speaking of furnaces being bosses in kids games, when I was a wee lad I had a horrible nightmare about a furnace. There were two doors in my room, one lead to the hallways and the other led to our (electric) boiler, that was normally very quiet. One night I was getting up out of bed for a piss and I opened what I thought was the door to the hallway, only to find it was the boiler cupboard. I just assumed it was a sleepy mistake, and went to try the other door. It was the boiler cupboard again. I was confused, but went to try the first door again and when I opened it there was a big, black coal-powered furnace, spewing flames and smoke into my room. I woke up screaming in my bed and couldn't get back to sleep for school the next day. I had to fight the boss furnace in my dream. I had the Bart's Nightmare nightmare. I am the Bart.

S02 E11 entitled 'Blinky Jumps!' is probably one of my favorites

This was the first game I ever played. I remember spending hours watching my brother play the Great Wall level. Purely magical back then lol

Guys I just realised something, in Bart's nightmare, you collect 8 pages, in Slenderman, you also collect 8 pages. Slenderman copied Bart's nightmare.

My favorite gag from The Sampsons was every episode near the end, Otto runs over Bart and kills him while Milhouse shouts, “oh my god, they killed Simpsy! You Bastards!”

I had this game as a kid and hated it. The Godzilla and Indiana Jones levels basically have you dead before you even have any concept of how to play them. The underwater level is the only one I could occasionally beat. Luckily I think it was a flea market pickup so I doubt we paid much for it.

I can relate to the "I have to be playing it to remember what buttons do what." Most of the times when someone asks me what the controls are, I need to pick up the controller or I'm not going to remember most of the controls.

JESUS only seconds into the actual game and I've already learned something I never knew. Control over the gum bubble is a gamechanger.

This era of games is like the devs were nerds who figured they could complete their own stages (that they built themselves) so clearly the average user can.

That was certainly worth the grinding. Bart's family looked briefly bemused.
