Can i get a TL;DR on the situation?

Watching Chris, DD & Julian discuss games & critique them has taught me how to appreciate media better. My analysis of media is so much more nuanced today thanks to watching these funni guys on repeat constantly. Watching DD & Julian be a couple also gave me incredibly confidence about my own sexuality. Media is full of stereotypical gay couples. DD & Julian were so important to me to understand that gay couples can act in a multitude of ways, and that love for a person can be shown in many different ways. Like when DD got upset at Julian for saying something along the lines of: "I'll probably die by the time I'm 35." That's DD expressing his love & appreciation for Julian. Julian's ghost hypothetical during the Pikmin playthrough; His reasoning to stay alive longer was so he could make more cartoons. I think about that a lot. Julian's reason to be on this Earth is to create things; I want to be like that. DD's stance on calling out people's bad behavior, even if "its the internet what do you expect?" DD's stance on cringe culture, and how we should enjoy their content and laugh *with* them, not at them. DD's urge to create anonymously; creating is what's important, not the popularity or clout it gives you. These two have influenced my life in so many positive ways, so much more than just the stereotypical: "You made me laugh when I was depressed!" They've taught me to critique, they've taught me what gay love can look like, they've taught me the importance that creating things has on my life. They've taught me to be kind. I appreciate the time DD & Julian has given to us, and will forever be grateful for them being so honest & real. I do not miss them because they've never left me; their lessons live on in my heart.

It’s always the funniest guy that goes through the worst shit. Ding Dong made me laugh my ass off both on oney plays and later on when I started watching his content. I’ll miss this guy a lot.

i don't care that he isn't streaming anymore. i don't care that he won't be active in the twitch and youtube world, i'm just so happy that he's going to keep creating. I do truly hope both him and julian are able to be successful with their passion in the future and i will be waiting for whatever it is they put out

The worst part about this all is that this dream daddy bullshit meant absolutely nothing and no one even talks about it anymore. These people dragged dingdong and Julian into stupid drama and threw them under the bus. I wish them both the best. I fucking hate the modern internet. I'm sick and fucking tired of legitimate grievances being blown up by "content" creators trying to hit a metric into some world shaking drama that will destroy whoever I don't like forever. Social media is a disease making all of us mean, terrible human beings in search of a constant drip of dopamine.

Update: In a stream that ended a couple of hours ago, Dingdong said that people approached him to apologize and that it has helped him find closure. He is streaming again. :)

I had no idea any of this stuff was happening or ever happened. And I still don't care. Thank God Ding Dong took a step back. May these dudes get some peace and quiet. Just imagine the sheer lack of social awareness or colossal level of ineptitude it takes to dig up old shit and constantly remind people of all the trauma they've endured. Ding Dong made the right call, some people just breed and thrive on toxicity. I'm genuinely happy he made this decision. The hardest part is feeling like he never got justice, that there was no closure, but that's the thing... Ding Dong doesn't want justice and the ultimate closure will be for Ding Dong and Julian to move on and live their best lives separated from all of this and leaving it in the past. I hope tomorrow Ding Dong wakes up and has a happy day being disconnected from all of this and not having it shoved in his face. I'll have a happy day by not engaging Game Grumps at all or putting this at their feet, in the end they know what they did and so do the people that matter in all of this. I will however indulge myself a bit and join in the chorus of "Fuck Bowblax."

Julian and Ding Dong are such a beautiful couple... I hate people that could hate you for just genuinely caring about a project.

I'm really going to miss him and Julian. Hopefully they do get acknowledgment for their work going forward so we can support them.

I know DD called this stream bleak but the last 15 minutes was the best advocation for being a creator. Making things to show people to make them happy that inspires them to make other stuff that they then share. His vision for this community made me break down. As a musician who also had a close run with suicide a week ago his words ring so true. Lose yourself in your passions. Motivate others' passions. What an absolute pillar of integrity, selflessness, and spirit of the artist. Best of luck and whatever you make will be amazing, because your heart is in the right place.

Like many other ding dong fans, I had no idea any of this was going on and it really is heartbreaking to hear. Obviously I don't know the guy personally, but he has always struck me as such an honest and genuine dude and it really does seem like people like him always have to deal with the hardest bullshit in life. I appreciate you DD. I first learned of you and Julian from OneyPlays and was ecstatic when y'all did OneyStays. Y'all got me through some wild times. Somewhere along the way, years ago, I heard murmurs of the Dream Daddy situation and I only learned the full story a few weeks ago. I made the mistake a few weeks ago of trying to turn a bad situation (e.g., a drama channel uploading clips of your livestream out of context) into some kind of justice-seeking crusade by educating others not in-the-know that "GG are scum", and for that I am sorry. I will never bring up those stories or trying to "seek justice" from here on if it means that you get to spend the rest of your life (and Julian's life, too) doing what you love, in peace. Probably my two favorite YT personalities of all - time. Listening to the old Oneyplays with those two and Chris seriously got me through one of the worst years of my life. Stupid funny, and its been a pleasure following their creative pursuits ever since. Hate that they went through all of this, but it might be a blessing in disguise. The internet, social media, its absolute misery.

I know people will focus on the negative, which I can't blame cause it's a shitty situation, but it's sweet that at the end of it DingDong's promoting creativity and for everyone to follow their passions, to try to bolster some positivity on the internet. I'll strive to be more creative this year.

This honestly is the most defeated man I've ever seen, and it truly is heartbreaking. A man speaks his qualms and some scumbag comes in and exploits and bastardize his wish for money. These people have no standards or morals.

Yknow what I’ve learned listening to this? Audiences are really REALLY unhealthy. I’m sorry but when I watch someone online, I’m not supposed to know their relationship status. I’m not supposed to know their sexual preference or the friends they like or the friends they hate or them cheating on their spouse or other creators they beef with. The separation between creator and watcher has become so crazily thin the past few decades, and it’s a real problem. Young people thinking they have a connection to cartoonists or let’s players or anyone who makes things on their internet screens? I hope I don’t sound like an old fogey or anything here. But damn are people in the world so unhappy with themselves that they choose to live their lives obsessing over some youtuber and their personal business? Maybe an oversimplification but… damn. Why can’t people just watch creators and move on?

When I hear stuff like this it makes me wish I had a stupid amount of money so I could just fund their project and send them on a vacation to just get away from it all and not have to be stressed about all this

Tbh I didn't even know the vast majority of this stuff was going on or how deep the rabbit hole goes until somewhat recently, but while I'll miss him as Ding Dong I know that he'll be in a healthier situation that can improve over time. I wanna give my sympathies to both Ding Dong and Julian, as well as... I'm not sure how to put this - congratulations or thank you - to Julian for keeping him going in life and being supportive and all, especially when it got to a dangerous point. It especially means a lot to me for someone to do that because I myself have been to that point [a couple times actually] but I'm glad that there were people that kept me alive and just were there for me even when they had their own problems. I wish you both the best and hope that you can live both healthier and happier lives.

The Oneyplays YIIK letsplay is the most significant piece of media that has been made this millennium. Would have been impossible without DingDong and Julian. I'd like to thank them for that, for countless other hours of entertainment, and sincerely wish them the very best.

DD sounded like we was at the verge of tears at the end. I genuinely do feel terrible for both him and Julian, and what they had to go through. I'm super glad that they're moving on from this drama and are both working on Bippy which looks really good. I don't think they'll ever read this, but I say to them good luck with your future endeavors to both of you people.

Listening to this all and how they were treated from people who backed them and everything was an actual shock, I haven't caught up with the these two since they left cause I always assumed "they're doing their own thing all good best of luck" then I got the video in my recommendations about all this and listening to this about they were treated and been through all this was a massive shock and do hope they take as long as they need to get everything together and heal from all this. Was always excited when I was free and saw DD streaming. Loved to chill and hear him and Joolian talk. Disappointed it went this way, but "reality is what it is." If I knew them, I could help more, but even so I pray that they'll find more peace with this decision. Godspeed, Wan Wan.

Hope Ding Dong and Julian are doing well, its unfortunate all this had happened over the years but glad that they're moving on. Enjoyed these two alongside Oney a while back, and they helped me get through some tough times.

This whole situation made me realize just how toxic the drama community can be. It really made me reevaluate how I respond to the welfare of others and to think more critically about why drama youtubers do what they do especially when they claim to be doing so out of the goodness of their heart. I really do believe the drama blew up only recently because there was no risk in outing the Game Grumps since their public image has deteriorated drastically since 2017. It's the whole situation of "OOH NOW I HAVE A VALID REASON TO HATE THIS GUY." Now that DD is calling that out, those same people who claimed to be helping him are now villainizing him for denying their cheap attempts to be good Samaritans without thinking critically about the situation beforehand. These people saw an opportunity to capitalize on someone else's suffering they each wanted to be the first do do so. To them, DD is not a human, he is capital to be exploited. I've since learned to ask "if there was no chance of making money off of this, would these people still be 'helping out of the goodness of their heart'?"

When you're just a common guy browsing the internet and come across a video like this out of nowhere and start feeling bad for some figures that you enjoyed watching

DD really inspires me when he talks. Its so easy to get stuck in that mire of drama YT and sensationalism that you forget that the people behind it are people. I also really like that bit at the end where he encourages people to create a work of art get into the things they wanna do. I'm going to try this year to make something special 😌

Idk if DD will see this, but his advice to make 2023 your year I took and still am taking to heart, honestly. I'm going to make this the year I finally do something for myself and get out of retail and fast food for good, or for at least for a good while. A show I watch and has inspired me to get into animation has recently asked for character designers (I'm sure anyone who follows OP knows it's Smiling Friends) and I applied to it to finally get my feet wet in the animation industry. I also recently got a Stratocaster from my grandfather and am finally gonna learn how to play. My biggest dream is to direct a TV show and form a band, so I'm making my first steps here and now. Even if I don't get accepted into the character designer team, nor if I barely learn a single note on guitar this year, DD's words have inspired me to still make it my year regardless, to still do whatever I can to make my dreams come true. I won't share my opinions on the matter - I have my own thoughts, but it's clear he doesn't want anything more to come out of it and wants to leave this situation behind for good (and I'm probably not too informed anyways and I'm only working with what I have) - but I will say it just hurts seeing good people getting hurt. I hope things can settle down for him and Julian moving forward and they can focus on what they're passionate about. Thank you for all the laughs and happiness DD. While I wish I had seen more of you and followed you on Twitch, I can tell you from both OP and watching Julian's streams you've made a more positive mark on the internet that you might think. Don't let that be pity to go back to these things though, use your fair judgement and give yourself what you want.

I empathize with this quite a lot. Having gone through a few traumatic events myself in the past few years, all I want to do is focus on making things. And I haven't been able to. It's an endless chase for stability. I'm currently unable to do what I love and it fucking sucks. Godspeed, DingDong.

I remember looking into this stuff years ago, not long after dream daddy came out. It's crazy to me that even after basically exiling themselves from anything that wasn't Blippy related, they were still dealing with the drama. All just because they felt like their community was being fethishied by people who were not part of that community, and they felt like they should say something instead of staying silent. They deserve nothing but a happy and quiet life, hopefully they can get that soon. Shoutout to Ding Dong and Julian!

It sucks that nobody really got the justice they deserved, but that’s already happened long ago for DD and Julian when they just wanna have a good life now. I hate that such an interesting and good person like Ding Dong had to go through all this shit. I loved all his takes and retro game trivia. I will miss that, but I'm glad he's stepping away from the internet and hopefully him and Julian can get some peace. Some people are truly terrible and mentally unwell, and just hate to see others succeed. Misery loves company.

It’s a shame things had to go the way they did in the past and even now but I’m glad DD and Julien aren’t letting this controversy cloud their lives anymore and are taking the steps that are best for themselves to recover and move forward. I wish the best for them going forward, it may not be perfect and most likely there will be bumps along the way but at least they have each other and it’s a start for retaking their lives. Until then I’ll be sharpening my tomahawks until Tough Bippy or anything they’re working on drops.

I’ve been a fan of ding dong and Julian since 2018. I remember back in 2019 when they finished the entire KH2 play through with Oney they mentioned that DD and Julian were moving to Canada. I felt sad because they weren’t going to be on the channel anymore but I was happy for them. They genuinely made me laugh so hard and they helped me get through a lot because of their humor. 4 years later seeing this livestream of DD really breaks my heart. Both him and Julian deserve so much love and support in the world. Despite everything they went through together you can tell they’re trying to keep themselves positive despite everything and they’re very respectful, sincere and discreet individuals even to the people that screwed them over.

I wish only peace and happiness for DD and Julian however they choose to proceed. They have always struck me as people who really admire the art of creating games, animations, and other media and that sense of appreciation is something have been able to reflect on and apply into my own experiences. I hope that I can also put DingDong's advice into practice and really create something that I can be proud of this year. Thank you two and I wish nothing but the best moving forward.

This video perfectly describes why i hate the current state of RU-vid now. Gone are the days of people making etertaining videos for fun, all it is now is just people milking drama they don't care about for profit, or overly long essays on something that isn't that complex. DingDong made the right choice abandoning the youtube/stream lifestyle completely, hope he's been doing better ever since then.

Man I would catch ding dong streams every once in a blue moon but I only discovered him around 2019 2020. Such fond memories watching ding dong and Julian on oneyplays during lockdown. I hope the best for him, whatever happened. There are a lot of evil people sometimes I don't even think they are the same type of human as myself. but I have a feeling he dealt with some scuffed ass people. I'll say it again though out of all the let's play people I find oneyplays to be the most genuine and it was always a treat when ding dong & julian were on an episode.. I started watching game grumps in 2016 and I'll still watch their stuff they had some really good let's plays and I also around the same time of finding oneyplays I found super-mega but super-mega is the only one that change to the point I'm not into their vibes as much as I was during 2019.

They brought so much laughter in my life when I was going through dark times I wish them the best I hope this isn't the last time I just wish we could help dingdong I really really want to support him anyway I can but I will be respectful may they receive positive and peaceful vibes 🙏 ❤️

Dude I swear I can feel him though. I can absolutely understand that feeling of guilt when even though you’re justified in feeling a way towards someone, you still feel bad about it.
