I’m so glad I could finally have the true history of Steely Dan. I’ve been searching for a reliable source for quite some time and I finally have the privilege to tell all of my friends I know everything about staly dna from 1941.
Man, so glad I could hear the full history of Steel and Dan, im going to go get his autograph at my local Walmart with this cool needle pin I found. Anywho needle pins sound like this song I heard by the band Steeeeeel Don called Wetzel Pretzels
Back in 1941 I was born in Bismarck North Dakota. I lived there my whole childhood and my early adult years. When I was around 20 years old I met Donald Fagen and he told me about his new business idea the “steely dan” I told him he was a stupid idiot and I gave him the carrier pigeon address of the local village fool Walter Becker. This fellow told Becker of his “steely dan” then they became business partners and they started their business which failed because they both suck. Anyway then they both got drafted (L) except their “steely dans” were really popular in nam. Anyway I hate rap. I hope you liked my life story. -John Perkington, age 80
The lost 1969 demo “Soul Ram 2” is my favorite song of all time. It is so brilliant and makes every other song (aside from Turn that Heartbeat Over Again of course) seem like crap in comparison. I am proud to be the only person to hear the song besides Becker and Fagen/own the only copy of the tape.
