Ouch! This hurts. When younger I traveled extensively all over Europe from 12 years old but never went to Poland. Now I go nowhere but if I could travel beyond my front door I would go straight to Poland. I have met and worked with some lovely Polish people over the years and follow many Polish channels. All I can say is the way Poland is progressing is astonishing and the railways could teach this country a host of things. Everything is being modernised, trains are packed, and no wonder at the prices, stations, track and electrification all being upgraded, none more than the main station in Warsaw. Thanks Dylan for taking us on these trips with you. Nice to see the meal onboard beat the UK sandwich lol. Cheers, Bob

5:39 A nice seat 17:18 €19.90 for the ticket + €9.60 for the food = €29.50. It's well worth a journey on PKP Intercity

It's worth noting that with recent changes to PKP's ticket pricing policy (similar to what the UK is doing - less busy trains are cheaper/buying 2-3 weeks in advance offers greater discount) you can pretty much travel across Poland in first class for about 5-6 euros if you buy your tickets early enough.

Polish infrastructure has improved enormously over the last 20 years and continues to improve as we speak. Hundreds of billions was and is being pumped into roads, trains, highways ports airports etc.. I particularly like the bars on the intercity trains, they serve food and alcohol. It’s actually quiet east to have one too many on these as the price is quiet affordable. I’ve only ever once seen a bar on a train in the uk when I was there and that was on the Eurostar from London to Paris.

Polish trains are excellent. I love the old red trains. Went from Zakopane to Krakow on one. Old and rickety but loved it. Some of their rolling stock is old. But very well looked after and clean. My wifes late father was the health and safety boss for PKP in Wroclaw

Travelled in First Class on PKP Intercity from Krakow-Warsaw, whilst on my trip to Poland in January. The train ride was awesome, very comfortable seating, amazing staff and cheap as hell. 3 first class tickets cost me less than what I usually pay for a standard ticket for a similar length journey from Leeds-KGX. Poland is an amazing county with a very good public transport network!

Having just returned from Europe and experienced the embarrassing train on Berlin to Amsterdam I really miss PKP and especially their fresh made food. You can hear them pounding out on the schnitzel in the kitchen when you order it!! As you mentioned, great value and there are many wonderful parts of the country to explore. Check out the Christmas markets in Wrocław and Gdańsk!

It's nice to see someone talk about my country from a different perspective :) I think they should put a loco on this train that can do 160km/h, since the wagons as well as the route is suited for 160km/h, it would shorten the journey time by like 25 mins or more. Also with the food, they lifted covid restrictions now, so you have normal cultery back in the Wars service, the plastic annoyed me as well.
@altavelmcnamara

They unfortunetaly don’t have enough locos, that’s why they use these old ones still.

Nice to see the city of Bydgoszcz the one I grew up in. I am not sure if you have noticed but on the left hand side shortly after leaving the Bydgoszcz Główna station there is the PESA factory site where trains are made. I am really surprise you didn't get your "schabowy' pork chop on a plate. I was easting in a Wars coach recently and my food was served on a plate. You can see it in my recent video at 13:35 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vzmr5z97eA8.html. It is wort to notice that most of the Intercity train services are named after regions of Poland or after famous (usually polish) people. Your service was called Jan Heweliusz

@WilliamDublin85 2 года назад
I can't say I like those PKP seats, they have a design flaw ,They're dreadful for anyone over 6ft since your shoulders actually touch the wings of them, because whereas on most trains the wings stick out from the edges, these ones are attached to the seat and the outer edges are the edge of the seat, coming back in which means the wings actually take up shoulder room for a tall person and you can't sit comfortably at all. If the wings started from the outer edges, out towards the outside of the seat rather than having the outer edge in line with the back and then curving back it, it would be much better.
