Maybe cause I’m a continuity starved PR fan, but I’ve personally loved the lore inclusions DF has brought us. While I can now see your perspective at that it could be used more effectively, I see it as the writers showing love for us adults and obsessed fans who crave this kind of stuff, and I’ve been enjoying every second
i like it doesn't go the "breaking continuity" type of worldbuilding the comics do i get the comics trying to establish lore but sometimes they kinda try to hard like saying dark specter creted the original psycho green ranger. which just makes you wonder "if he created psycho green, how he didn't notice that the psychos astronema created were draining his own power? he should know! he has experience with psychos!"
Tbh i think dinofury should've been its own universe, particularly with a RWBY-Like fantasy setting. Forcing every single season in one universe just ruins everything
Am I the only one who thinks the reason the Ninja Nexus Prism was in the ocean has something to do with the Gold Ranger? Like maybe he and/or his Zord are under the sea? I thought of this because that is where the Gold Ranger in Ryusoulger came from.

I firmly believe Hasbro is starting to realize that the Comic Books are starting to set a precedent now. Thus the adding things in from comics and trying to integrate the show with the comic book. I think BM was a shot at condensing the other branch feeling RPM has to at least make it part of main line continuity. It seems like that's what they're trying to do here. I could see a big show/comic cross over and the amount of hype that would bring.
They're basically doing the same they did with recent Transformers stuff: adding elements and characters of comics, movies and cartoons into the newer stuff.
Considering that they have finished production for both seasons of DF and the the actor who plays the black ranger says some interesting things about hey did on twitter maybe they do have plans to incorporate the lore into the story in some fashion.
Personally, it looks like they are clearly building on the lore being presented. People thought the MM were just going to be in that first episode and then they are brought back for more. We know from Simon they made the suits to last for months of filming. Not to mention the episode clearly saying that the Ninja Nexus Prism's mission wasn't over so it's going to have an effect on the overall plot in some way. So I think a lot of this is premature only eight episodes in when they are setting things up. It's not like Beast Morphers where a lot of it was stuffed in the later season 2 episodes or Ninja Steel all of a sudden talking about it for two episodes.

As far as the morphing grid appearance thing, i might go it appear how the person directly accessing it would best accept it looking. It could happen. Just depends on how Entwistle handles the show.... He knows people want to see Lord Drakkon. It's just going to be harder to pull off than the current style since it would almost have to target a different audience than the current show.
We've had darker seasons in the past. I think it could be done. The Rangers of the season could be members of the Coinless, and their last hope. Their powers could come from Billy's power coin, so they would have different members of the triceratops family for their powers and Zords. They could be called Tricera Rangers. The Mastodon Sentries would be the common foot solders.
I read the moment with the Nexus Prism as a 'You are not alone' moment, a little reminiscent of the ending of episode 3 and relevant to Zayto after all the loss he's faced. Especially since the Morphing Masters are the closest thing to old allies of his. I do think there's some issues with how Zayto's stress with Mick and the Zord falling apart played out, where it could have been a bit more cohesive. It would be interesting if Void Knight faced the Morphing Masters, though episode 8 would be too early for a challenge of beliefs, so it may still happen. Given that Void Knight seems to have stolen the armour I wonder whether he'd be judged a legitimate Ranger in their eyes.
I think it might be a setup for future events: the Nexus Prism showed the rangers that the Morphing Masters had an hand in the creation of various ranger powers, and probably indirectly assisted them. I think that as the story progresses the rangers will discover more about them and eventually it will be given an explanation in season 2. Which I think will adapt elements of the Four Week Continuous Super Sentai Strongest Battle.
MegaForce as a whole was such a massive fail it was ultimately more of a super mega wet fart than a worthy anniversary season that was based half off of arguably the best anniversary season ever.... and I agree, lore for the sake of lore is uninteresting and kind of lazy. While I do appreciate the attempt to add to the lore and connect things across the franchise, there are better ways to go about it.
Please don't mention Megaforce ever again. That wasn't Power Rangers. It is just a bad dream. A nightmare. That series should be taken off the shelves and taken off the Power Rangers franchise. I never thought that there could be something worse than Power Rangers Samurai until Megaforce came along. I will never show my future kids the Megaforce season.
Megaforce failed in several departments. Just as a series on its own its themes were poorly explored and the characters lacked any progression or development. It constantly tells is about how humanity can overcome adversity because of the human spirit but we never get to see any humans besides the rangers fight back when faced with adversity. In terms of narrative stakes the series had none since new threats were never treated as if they mattered and even if the Rangers did believe that something would be difficult they would blow through the problem like it was nothing a second later. The Rangers never earned upgrades or had to work to get them, except doing the bare minimum ie. Just being in the ranger suit prompter Gosei to hand out power ups. And let's not get started on the misuse of Super Sentai only teams which were just rebranded as "Powers never before seen on Earth", which never received a follow up explanation As an anniversary season it referenced and even copied things from the past such as Day of the Dumpster and Countdown to Destruction without understanding what made those two things special. Its episodes focusing on Ranger Cameos were poorly handled and didnt show us the themes from that previous season, how the characters of that season had grown, or what made being a power ranger special. The Legendary Battle had the most cameos but it was underwhelming seeing them stoically just stare at each other most of the time As a whole Megaforce and Super Megaforce are the worst seasons in the entire series for me

Like we literally had Lightspeed Rangers, Lost Galaxy Rangers and In Space Rangers cameo in the worst seasons of all time. They wasted the cameo. I also don't like that Tommy was in the green ranger suit when those powers were clearly destroyed. He should have come back as the red zeo ranger or white mighty morphin ranger or even the turbo ranger but as far as I know the black dino powers and green mighty morphin powers are long gone.
I can understand your fear about the amount of lore is the new seasosn, I just hope they won't crush everything at some points, I like to see them trying to put some lore outside of the comics
Lore is good, it shows world building, thought out intent from the writers, makes a world feel lived in. However, too much lore, and over explaining can be bad. It can retcon previous already established things in a series to be worthless. In an ongoing series like Power Rangers which already has established that some series cross paths, and others take place in completely separate universes, trying to connect ever story beat to each other, feels like something this new Hasbro Era is trying hard to do since Beast Morphers. As if to say, "See! Look! We know our Power Rangers history! All the five year olds might be super confused, but who cares, this is for all the hard core fans who are now those kids' parents!" And I personally think this could backfire on them. I feel Dino Fury should have already been it's own timeline.
I'll be honest, one thing that always stood out to me about the way you talk about rangers is the rangers are people first, its a good philosophy and I think this season is giving us a lot of that. It feels very by rhe numbers in a very good way, interesting mysteries waiting tp be discovered and a connection to the nexus prism that I don't think will be a one time thing. The vibe I get off the episodes we have is that we are just getting started, setting the stage and getting all of the characters set up so they can be more meaningfully tested down the line, which I'm here for. I like these character, it feels very classic but not in an overdone way.
In Ryosoulger, that wolf monster was disturbing to me because of that mouth. In Dino Fury, the ultrabright bubble pop look makes it kinda meh. Or maybe the few years in-between has blunted the impact of seeing it again.

loved the video I really do find the idea of Morphin masters helping Void Knight in the future to be fascinating since as you pointed out he is a Power Ranger except he is straying to the path of evil and that "No matter the cost" in order to save his wife
also the concept of Power Rangers using crossover and return episodes as narrative progression first and fan service later was a pretty interesting point to have brought up
Personally I'm not that big of a fan of this season being the one to incorporate lore. The lore is ok but considering the way that it is handled feels off to me. Like I'm not the biggest fan of the fact that the group of Aliens were given the powers of the dinosaurs, an earth species, I know that they worked together but it just feels off to me. Maybe I'm just biased but I think that the tribe plot from Ryusoulger would have worked better here. Not the exact same plot, but the same general idea of two different tribes fighting.
With all due respect, that would have been a bit too close to what Samurai did for me. Not as bad mind you (just compare the intros to both Shinkenger and Samurai for a minute because holy shit) but Megaforce level derivative.The major difference to me is that, whereas Megaforce was the television equivalent of mooning the camera and giving the middle finger, this feels like someone actually gives a shit. Beast Morphers fails in many, many ways but it feels like it was a story that they wanted to tell.
I'd have to agree with the sentiment that lore for lore's sake doesn't really help the story. I don't mind connective tissue that much, but too much can really affect the characters and their story. I think this video sums up how I feel about all the lore elements that have been in the show recently. Also the void knight getting rejected by the prism idea was great, I wish they did take that opportunity. Edit: what I mean by the characters and their story is that the new characters are given room to be them instead of making room for lore, you can have it but preferably not at the expense of the new characters. Interactions like the prism and Zayto don't really add much to his story, it seemed like more like an excuse to bring back Mick than anything else imo. (Ik I'm probably just yelling into the void but maybe someone will read this)

The idea the Morphin Masters were the ones who revived Kendrix (Steel) though is pretty nice. I get your points though, lore should help the story best. At the very least, I’m glad the Nexus Prism gets SOME EXPLANATION instead of just being a get out of jail free card. I’m more annoyed that didn’t have more of a theme since Dane being absorbed by it, means that he was watching over his family and found family if that was intentional, but now it could be seen as the Morphin Masters testing to see if that bond could help the Rangers use the prism to their advantage.

My understanding is that we will probably get answers. What we have so far is part 1 of season 1. We usually get 2 seasons of a ranger team. This means that the prism will probably reappear at the end of the season and reveal that what it was looking for was the power up they will get in the second season. Its whole point is foreshadowing in an episode they almost always do. (Advertise past rangers in the franchise as a sort of meta commercial to viewers that these past shows exist and they should go watch them too.)
Am I the only one who thinks the Morphin Masters might end up becoming the final bosses of the series? I mean, think about it, they could easily adapt Ryusoulger's plot point of creating the Druidon and Ryusoul tribe by having them try to create the perfect ranger team, taking advantage that one of their original rangers, Zayto, woke up. Maybe later deeming the rangers as "incompetent" and thinking the only way to keep earth and the grid safe would be them try to conquer the world even cutting the connection of other teams to the grid (explaining why not all teams should band together). and the dino fury team being the only ones able to stop them because reasons of "them being the first team the masters created, they became like antibodies to the team " or something? i don't know why.. that's the vibe the morphin masters give to me
Shoot! That'd be a really cool way of adapting the Eras plotline to this different story. That said, I don't know if they'd be bold enough to pull that massive shift in established lore in the show. Maybe one wayward Morphing Master goes rouge?
I feel like as late into the game with PR as we are, Legacy is inherently part of what makes Power Rangers what it is, so the references and establishments of further continuity is only a positive, and given the comics had already established the Morphin Masters as Arbiters of the Grid, multiversally, Hasbro's just following up on the comics
Aside from a few seasons, the show has never felt the need to directly connect any of the PR teams to each other. MMPR, Zeo and Turbo are directly connected by episodes and movie. Dino Thunder is directly connected to Ninja Storm within the Dino Thunder series. Given the inclusion of Tommy in Dino Thunder, one would assume it's connected to MMPR/Zeo/Turbo. The Episode Forever Red seems to imply that all teams up to Wild Force are connected, but doesn't implicitly state such. Mega Force gives the same implication, but never directly states such. However, for Mega Force and their access to "legendary ranger powers" to make sense, there has to be a shared continuity between all teams up to that point. The show implies a connection through knowledge of other ranger teams, but has avoided making direct connections more often than not. There's even an implied a connection between Dino Fury and Operation Overdrive through J-Borg. But not knowing timeframes, dimensions, etc.... RPM, Lost Galaxy and Mystic Force at least take place in different dimensions or galaxies.... Lost Galaxy is connected to Space by Astronema/Karone...but a different galaxy
@@disneyerapowerrangers2923 Legacy of Power wasn't needed to connect Dino Thunder to the other seasons. Wild Force had Forever Red, which connected every season up to Wild Force. Tommy's presence in Dino Thunder connected it to the rest....as did the Ninja Storm and SPD cross-over episodes. They could have skipped Legacy of Power, and the connections still would have been made. The MegaForce episode Legendary Battle connects every power rangers season up to that point except for RPM. Up to Lost Galaxy, every season was directly connected without a cross-over episode. Saban could have done much better at connecting or disconnecting each series and so can Hasbro.
I've been led to believe they are trying to streamline all the franchise. The morphin masters play a huge part in the comics. They want everything interconnected which will make future series easier to write and with the contract with toei expiring it means it will be purely American
As a lifelong fan, I didn’t mind The Morphin Master’s introduction but I couldn’t help but wonder why they didn’t help any of the other seasons prior to DF. I know they didn’t exist until recently but those are the kinda questions people are gonna ask much like with Gosei’s introduction. I don’t mind details or characters from previous seasons being brought back but as long as they have an actual role to play in the newer seasons other than fan service-like Tommy becoming a mentor in Dinothunder. Mick did help with the wolf Sporix but I saw nothing coming from the Ninja Nexus appearing and even if it did prelude to Aiyon’s location, he was awoken by a Morphin Master and not the Nexus. I know we didn’t know this at the time of the Unexpected Guest episode but I still didn’t really see a point to have the Nexus or even Mick (despite how much I do like him) in this episode. It felt like a filler episode where no one develops and the best thing that came out of that episode was the twist surrounding Void Knight’s motives
So the nexus prism is our galaxy’s connection to the grid. Recon-ing the stone from Dino thunders’s lost episode out of canon/continuity. That’s a shame. Are they gonna to cut ties with VR troopers as well? Hailey was meant to be grimlord’s daughter. She used her father’s research data, he stole from the Steele family to create the Dino thunder Morphers. according to the former executive writer of Dino thunder, ninja storm and wild force anyways. I guess hasbro is going to recon everything known from interviews, conventions and early scripts away.
Didn't Ninja Steel start the lore with Dimensions in Danger but that dino team up awful with Keeper involvement like his ship it was destroyed in both DC timelines why was he on Ryjack's ship then or needed it to arrive in another dimension which they forget that left it in. Also how did Keeper just recently escape Goldar and Snide / not come back immediately into battle to help / tell his team to reach out to every team Koda met

When you think about it, the whole Armada attack could have been a galactic attack, most of the other ranger teams going off planet to help the other planets under attack (and win), while they leave the Megaforce to protect their main home while the rest is out (the equivalent of leaving the kid of the family to take care of the house, hence why gosei gave them so many power ups, just in case the rookies need the extra firepower). And occasionally some going to check them subtlety to not make the Armada double down their efforts. The Megaforce team eventually winning most on their own and just when it turns out there is a final bonus threat after cleaning the house (a final desperate last resort plan from Mavro), now that the team is exhausted enough that they might get destroyed if they fight alone, the rest of the rangers come basically saying "you did a good job kids. you kept the house mostly intact during the emergency. now let's clean up the rest together".
Unpopular opinion: I don't think every season needs to explain how the Morphin Grid is responsible for everything. I'd rather each season be good on its own.
I didnt even notice how Dino Fury could have a lore problem, but once you pointed it out, I can see how it would raise a lot of red flags. The section towards the end resonated with me the most. Lore and worldbuilding for the sake of it does not a good story make. Lore doesnt make good stories. Good stories make good lore. There's a reason why no one talks about Jayden or Casey's cameos in Super Megaforce. Because those characters just show up for the sake of it and their actions do not leave a lasting impact on the characters they interacted with. Having callbacks purely for the sake of "it sounds cool" may work for fanfiction, but not a full-fledged production.
It's possible that the Morphin Master's Alignment is Neutral because the Green Morphin Master is seen making the Dino Gems including the White Dino Gem, and it was said, in dialogue, "The Gem is Pure Evil".
You know that make me think about what if we're seeing the version that there were scenes in the morphin Masters it had the same kind of angle that we saw
Who needs lore. Just a morphin grid, that's a natural part of the make up of the universe, that specific objects can access to grant morphin powers. Anyways the true MM and leader of all rangers was Zordon. Would be nice to get him back into the show somehow.
The Morphin Masters on their own create more questions than answers - from what we understand the Nexus Prism, the Energems and the Dino Gems (the latter two have their weird continuity mumbo-jumbo) were created by the Morphin Masters. But yet that doesn't explain how other mystical powers/elements came to be and are they related to the Morphin Masters - like the Power/Ninja coins, the Zeo Crystal, the Quasar Sabers, the Wildzords and Animal Crystals, the Mystic Force powers and Gosei + the Megaforce powers. Now, Turbo, In Space, Lightspeed Rescue, Time Force, SPD, Operation Overdrive, RPM and Beast Morphers have connection to the Morphin Grid, but it's well established that these powers were man-made. Ninja Storm, Jungle Fury and Samurai are very tricky to determine if they're related to the Morphin Masters directly TBH
The origin of the Beast Morphers power is actually explained in the show. It's even explained further in the episode Source Code. What's not explained is how GBF got their hands on the RPM Rangers' cell shift morphers to begin with, since they exist in different dimensions. The Power Coins, Dino Gems, Energems and Dino Fury keys were all created by the "morphin masters". In Jungle Fury, it's implied that the "power" comes from their animal spirits and the solar morphers simply turn them into rangers based on their animal spirits. It's also stated that the solar morphers are man made. The quasar sabres and animal crystals are the only questionable items, as the rest are man made. Exactly how the man made ranger powers and morphers are connected to the morphin grid will never be explained.
Dimensions in Danger all though an amazing episode is the biggest lore change the show has had to date cause before Dimensions in Danger it was understood all the ranger teams were fighting to save the same earth now each team is a are rangers from their own Dimension which now can make the crossover episode harder to make work narratively cause of having to go to last season’s Dimension or having them come to the current season’s Dimension in the long run it can get more confusing cause of all the earths like the dc comic universe did
I see what you mean, but the only teams that it really has any effect on are the Dino charge and RPM teams. And the way those stories are set it would make the most sense for them to be set in their own dimensions, otherwise there would a continuity issue
@@Creightboy17 RPM takes place on a different planet, in a different dimension.... That was covered in Beast Morphers. Lost Galaxy also takes place in a completely different galaxy, on a different planet, as does Mystic Force. Time Force and SPD take place in different times from the MMPR continuity. For continuity, not all teams can exist in the same time, on the same planet, in the same galaxy or even in the same dimension. MMPR, Zeo, Turbo, Space, Lost Galaxy, Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder and SPD are all part of the same continuity. It's likely that Wild Force and Time Force are also part of that continuity as well, based on the Forever Red episode. Jungle Fury, Operation Overdrive, RPM, Samuari, Ninja Steel and Beast Morphers are the only past seasons where continuity is an issue.

Ehm, most of the questions about Mick, the prism and the Morphin Masters have one simple answer: "fanservice". It's not that I dislike team-ups or references, but Beast Morphers and now, Dino Fury, relies heavily in those references to develope their plots. I suddenly realize, Evox it's Venjix, and his final defeat was in another seson, without the original Rangers that defeated him before, or affected personally or their world (Venjix basically wipe out almost the entire mankind, transform Dillon and her sister in evil cyborgs, and killed Scott Truman's brother. Which it lead to the odd circunstance, the Rangers didn't have an entire closure to their arcs.). The Morphin Masters are a neat reference......and completely unnecesary to keep appearing. Unless they are "deus ex machina" for a future plot, they fulfilled their part.

I didn't even think about super megaforce getting to see old rangers again was pretty cool but that was there whole thing I didn't think about how that made what the megaforce did themselves stand out much less I can't really remember what they did
ngl I just wanna know which universe DF is in... which I guess got explained cause the Ninja Steel thing is in this universe but just because it shows new age teams doesn't mean it couldn't be in another universe
I litteraly just took it has the nexus showing the rangers that the MM are watching over them which will come back later on as this does not seem like a one time thing rather feels more like set up for later story
Considering that Hasboro wants PR to a Marvel Style multi-universe connecting comics, Television, and Movies a small retcon on the Morphing Grid is fine. Even if you consider this a Soft Reboot of the PR Lore that's fine too as long as they continue to stay consistent. If Ninja Steel through Dino Fury ends up connecting the universe more than just a team-up every year then I am all for it.
To be fair, the franchise needs more of a connection than just "bunch of usually teenagers get powers and fight evil aliens." It was okay in 1993 but that style is kind of outdated now. Obviously, I don't expect Power Rangers Silmarillion but I do hope for more of a connection than just VERY occasional team-ups. They're nice but also gimmicky and, as seen last year with "Grid Connection", can be God awful. In fact, pretty much all team-ups since Dino Thunder's "Thunder Storm" have been utter crap.
@@danielmaloney6461 funnily enough, I never like In Space. It has a lot of problems Turbo had, especially the pacing and it's usually just s slog. The elements people praise are the sister plot (introduced in the TWENTY SEVENTH episode out of forty three), the Psycho Rangers (which I found way too one note to be threatening, interchangeable at best and annoying in how much they sabotaged each other) and the finale. Objectively, it just has wretched episodes (the terrible TMNT crossovers, ,"Grandma Matchmaker", "The Ranger's Leap of Faith" "Silence is Golden" and "Andros' Stowaway.") Out of the whole Zordon Era, comprising six season, I liked two. MMPR Season 1 and Zeo. Mmpr 2 and 3 are abysmally badly paced, Turbo is.. Turbo and In Space I just don't like. To me, the good part of the franchise doesn't begin until Lost Galaxy.
I think this is ganna end in a disaster. They're trying so hard to connect all seasons of PR to the GRID, even feature seasons, in a coherent universe or multiverse. Also using nostalgia to bait long time fans into watching and buying merchandise. I love RPM's story and setting as well it's continuation into Beast Morphers, but PR seasons should be set as their own stories like the Sentai series. I've been watching PR since the OG MMPR and history repeats its self. When one season fails, that's when the suits let good script writers take over. My biggest fear is if the lore fails, how are they going to fix it?
Well Dino fury is supposed to be a reboot of the power rangers universe. That's why it's believed that the dino fury rangers are the first team on planet earth, and not mighty morphin
Keep in mind sentai footage is a thing. The whole Gaisorg Armor plot in Ryusoulger is kinda ABOUT the fact that its user wasn't worthy and took the armor to compensate. Void Knight kind of inherited that and van't really be accepted or fit in as a result.
Sounds like they’re basically Red conning tf out of PR. Honestly I don’t think can watch any of these new rangers. The plot is all over the place. I can watch up til PR RPM. They might have had hope to rebuild with mega force but they completely fucked that up
The main premise you put forth, Disney Brain, is very solid and sound, however I do have to disagree on one major point (although its like tangential to the sphere of "look its lore and its alright but it feels weird here). I feel like they did what they did to help build on what's going to come after Dino Fury, since Hasbro is looking at expanding past just using old sentai footage. Zenkaiger wouldn't really fit in the Power Rangers sphere anyways, as it's loaded with older sentai references they'd have to somehow work around like they did in Super Megaforce, and it's literally every episode thanks to Zenkaizer. Also: Toei and Hasbro just don't have that agreement going forward from now on. I feel like they're just trying to expand the setting and the lore and they're doing okay at it, especially with all the various projects that have been quietly announced as being worked on. I just feel this is all in preparation for the next series, which is the 30th anniversary series and that'd be pretty cool. Also i really like how they explained how the Dino Gems, the Energems, and the Ninja Nexus Prism were all created, and I hope they explore more of that sorta space when doing minor lore expositions like that. It'd be really cool to see Ninjor again, for example, if at all possible, so we could get a similar explanation for the Power Coins. I know it's unlikely, but it'd be cool to see. It'd also be cool to explore some of the other more mysterious power sources and their origins, such as the Wild Zords or the Zeo Crystals, outside of the comics.
What I wonder is what made the agreement so fragile in the first place. One aspect I guess could be that Hasbro is a much bigger toy company than Bandai and so they make more money from PR toy sales and thus it feels like a rivalry.
@@lorddrayvon1426 a recent interview put to bed the idea of the hasbro/toei split, that was just a rumor, as to why, well Toei is obstantiall a arm of Bandai, bandai no longer makes power rangers, but i cant see that being a real sticking point as i belive in japan some of Hasbro us properties are actually under Bandai japan
Personally I had many issues with episode 8 of Dino Fury and it's implications, like that every Ranger in history is basically a chosen one now or that Morphing Masters can just simple bring people back from the dead making stakes significantly lower, but the episode so far felt just as a lore dump. Aside of Void Knight's comatose wife, the episode served mostly as a one big lore trivia and the major reason it seem to serve is to explain the Nexus Presum in some way, but it doesn't really seem to have much of a purpose in Dino Fury's story so far.
Make a video discussing the classic Power Rangers is for kids arguments and highlight how the season became more kidsier after Disney sold it back to Saban
They didn't rewrite anything, the grid has always worked like the force, that was established way back in MMPR. Overdrive just took the word "grid" too literally. Earth has a field around it called a Grid, this is where the word came from not like a computer grid.
I really just think the Ninja Nexus Prism ran into trouble with Galvanax before for things it caused and it decided to drag other people into its problems.
I would like to see what was going through the Morphin Master's heads for making Jungle Fury's Morphers. "Ok so, Andrew Hartford has been a good person and is a worthy person to tap into the grid, so we should check on the guy he just have knowledge of the grid to. Who is this guy sitting in a recliner? Why is he trying to put the Morpher in sunglasses? That's not how this works, that's not how any of this works! Use either a wristwatch or a cellphone idiot! Alright, so now we need to design a Morph sequence made for sunglasses. *Sigh*"
@@newageBoundhippie He did, but Andrew Hartford taught him how. So the joke is that Andrew was one of the best Morpher builders ever, he hard wired in his own grid connection, he gave the rangers civilian powers on top of the grid connection, and he was ready to fight against the forces of evil himself before Mac took his morpher. So basically he has this great resume, the masters are impressed with him and check in on his protege, who like you said is RJ, and get someone completely different in lifestyle, leadership style, fighting ability, and Morpher construction technique. This means they have to do this big mental 180 in-between Overdrive and Jungle Fury because the Morphers change so much. As a result, they are just sitting there wondering where things went so wrong, and trying to figure out how they are going to make a morphing sequence for the new rangers with the Sunglasses, since that's what the random man in the purple coat thinks should happen and they just have to go with it. Basically RJ has his bumbling fool, hidden master act. Which ended up fooling the Morphin Masters and I thought that would be hilarious.
I think PR lore has gotten to a point where its just one giant mess after all these teams of rangers and various seasons, if they just leave out the words Morphin Grid, I doult there be such a big mess, I mean, Lightspeed, if I recall correctly, never once mentioned the words Morphin Grid and its pretty much made clear that the Rangers powers and techonlgy is created by one woman, exactly how is unknown and was never really a plot point in the show, its only more resent shows that been trying to explain the origins of the ranger powers, beginning with OO and then other series trying to explain this using their genius characters when really, there was never any need for it to be explained in the first place, its like trying to explain the Force from Star Wars, so the question should really be: Do we really need an origins story for all ranger powers?
It actually started in Dino Thunder. Kira and Ethan interact with the Grid to see SPD. Kat in SPD taps into it to giver the DT Rangers their powers back.
This is off topic but I remember I watching a power ranger show where if a ranger loses THEY DIE AND TURNED TO DUST. Can someone please tell me what I am remembering for it was so long ago that I just can not remember the name of the show? The reason I do remember it is because of the pure shock that I experienced watching that happen. So if someone could help me I would greatly appreciate it.
I honestly couldn’t care less about what people think of the lore. Overall, I’m really liking Dino fury and can’t wait to see more of everything that’s happening especially with Void Knight
First off, THANK YOU for being willing to actually criticize Dino Fury rather than just blindly praising everything like everyone else in this fandom. My main problem with "Unexpected Guest" is that the "lore" they introduce doesn't do anything to advance the characters or the plot of the plot of the episode (at least not in any obvious way). It can basically be summed as Zayto reading through random RangerWiki articles. The Nexus Prism is just all like "Hey look! Previous seasons happened! Oh also the MMs made other magic shit too!" and then just fucks off to parts unknown. The rangers don't learn anything to help them beat the MotW, Zayto doesn't learn anything about Rafkon or thet Sporix, it's just shallow fanservice. I'm already not impressed with Dino Fury so far, so the fact that the show is basically trying to cheat it's way into my heart with nostalgic imagery just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I just prefer how worldbuilding was handled in seasons like Dino Thunder or SPD, where they have it but are far less obnoxious and in-your-face about it. And have much better characters and writing to fall back on. On the other hand, there are also seasons like Jungle Fury and RPM which just tell they're own self-contained stories but again, have MUCH better characters and writing (all within less than 8 episodes).
wing knight sorry void knight hey he reminds me of wing knight of KRDK due to him looking like a good guy from another series makes me say he is *not* the big bad after all he doesn't have that feel I await the real threat when the rangers "fail" only to later succeed, one of the main questions about this uh rewrite???I guess is if they are they arbiters of the morphin grid and the granter of powers how did the green power coin slip into evil hands??how did they even *allow* the evil green ranger to be "born" in the first place they treading on ground that should best be left alone.
I posted a tweet to my own review of the episode on your Twitter, but let me expand on it. I think Hasbro is taking more advantage of the lore of the franchise when for the past few years under the Neo-Saban Era, they never really expanded on the mythology of the show. Heck, Super Megaforce did the ABSOLUTE bare minimum of respect to the lore & mythology of the show. Hasbro's definitely leaving it's own kind of mark on the franchise, that's for sure. I see the Morphing Masters as an expansion of the lore & mythology and it's possible that after seeing the rangers go through major hardships like losing a loved one, the Morphing Masters throw the rangers a bone like say, Kendrix coming back to life/I'd imagine the Quasar Sabers only had the power to un-rockify Miranoi & not revive Kendrix so I chalk that up to the Morphing Masters & of course, Steel coming back to life as a human in Beast Morphers. While yes, the over-abundance of lore CAN become a problem, I don't think we're that far in yet to know for sure. Here's hoping for the next 3 episodes thanks to Netflix!
