One of the reasons why I apsolutely love the spinosauridae family is because they are so well adapted to fishing, swimming and I love their long thin snouts and conical teeth. The head crest looks better as a little bump on the head instead of the two crests of spinosaurus from JP3.

"It's one of the documentaries that haven't engaged in serious time-travels" They literally put all dinosaurs in modern UK :p Joke aside, I think the setting is actually the reason why they don't change dates, documentaris change dates, so that dinosaurs from different timeframes can be shown together in one setting. Of course if your setting is modern times, you don't need to change the timeframe ^^

I just realised Jellyfish studios who did this show, Planet Dinosaur and a few others also did the CGI for the Book of Boba Fett, and of course Prehistoric Planet. Thats probably a reason why it is so bloody good. I realised this team was linked to Jon Favreau, thus Prehistoric Planet, so when I saw the croc dogs the sandpeople have in Boba Fett and how real it looks (genuinely that couldve been a notosuchian in Prehistoric Planet and I'd be convinced im looking at it alive stood there) I was even more excited for Prehistoric Planet. But now that I know that was the same studio behind this and Planet Dinosaur it shows how much the tech has improved and the animation work, and I'm assuming the budgets they've been provided with. Awesome to see a studio do so well with palaeo media specifically and only get even better and more realistic overtime. They work on other stuff too of course, but they've done A LOT of palaeomedia that is all either pretty brilliant to the best we currently have, I dont see something topping PP anytime soon. Genuinely, if we were to ever see Primeval come back or something like it, I think itll be Jellyfish Studios behind it, and if the animals look as good as they do in Prehistoric Planet, we would be in for a treat. Simply put, if dinosaurs are in the modern world, roaming cities and stuff, if its not in the UK its just not right lol, and is for some reason usually much better quality.
@bkjeong4302
@bkjeong4302 Год назад
Prehistoric Planet was good, Planet Dinosaur honestly…isn’t. Not only is it insanely focused on predation, they didn’t even succeed in depicting predatory behaviours all that well in many cases, and much of the supposed fossil evidence they show in the documentaries to justify their depictions are not properly explained and even misinterpreted at times.

It's really a nice tough, see a great tribute to have highlighted the this region of the world and his own prehistoric local fauna as the local paleontology History too ! Because, thing who is often put on the sides and not too much mentionned in most and current Dino Doc or medias, is that the Britain country was litterally the BIRTHPLACE of the Paleontology Domain as a whole ! Really, that is not nothing !! Not only the country where the first species where named, that the word "Dinosauria" was created, and the Paleontology Domain was made first, but most of his earliest debuts and most impactfull discoveries and studies who will defined the way to understand the life from the past were made here too. And that during many decades. Sure, all the next chapter with the Paleontology History in North America/USA who will just follow after this beginning will greatly reinforced better our methods and knowledge about Paleontology and Prehistory in general, but that changed anything on what the Britain country role had done in the Paleontology existence itself. A country, and fact, who deserved more recognition !

13:40 I think it's completely fine to sometimes question the fossil interpretations of paleontologists. After all, these people usually specialize in osteology, taxonomy and geology, rather than etology or ecology. I just finished reading The rise and fall of the dinosaurs by Steve Brusatte, and the guy's really great at explaining fossils and taxonomy, but he also states some pretty dumb stuff, such as T.rex being as smart as an ape, because it had a similar EQ.
@WarriorLionstripe

Watched this one recentlg and it got me thinking. A Dino Doc I would love to see is a history of paleontology. Like, each episode would pick a group of dinos and show us the progression of what people thought it was like over time. I'm talking full CG Crystal Palace Iguanadons, with paleontologist talking about why they thought that, and what evidence led to the change to the kangaroo Iguanadon, and so on though 90's shrink wrapping and on to today's most updated depiction. Because I find the inaccuracies fascinating, and to know the actual process that led to our modern understanding gives so much of an insight into how Paleontology, and science in general, works.

Something that bothers me is that even when people give raptors full sets of feathers, they're always still really... flimsy. Their feathers are always super short and their 'wings' look useless. Raptors were pretty fluffy in general, and their arms didn't just have longer feathers on them, they had WING feathers. But even accurate documentaries RARELY depict this. The only one I can think of that did was Prehistoric Planet. Even this documentary gave them the pathetic but full feathered look with useless wings and tiny, short feathers with 0 fluff factor.

The thing I like the most in this documentary, it's the sequences where the dinosaurs are alive in our modern times and roamed into the streets, town or the landscapes. It's truly funny and enjoyable to see, and watching them interacting with the people and the differents modern objects and structures. The overall give truly feelings and vibe of what could be a Jurassic World Dominion production, and that even way before the JWD in question ! (btw great movie and conclusion to the second trilogy and the overall saga). My favorite of these sequence is the one where we see the Iguanodon walking inside the Crystal Palace Park, just to the side of the iconic Crystal Palace Iguanodon stone Statues ! It's truly a nice and symbolic tribute that this specific sequence depict and show to the audience. It's truly show and symbolize how far our scientific knowledge and understanding view of the dinosaurs have evolved overtime from the 1800's.
