i think the most lifelike aspect is even when resting dinosaurs eyes move around
@arthmann2
@arthmann2 3 года назад
Ironically enough, that's one the least "lifelike" aspects, since IRL non-avian dinosaurs, much like modern birds, would have had sclerotic rings that would have limited eye movement. But it's still impressive on a technical level, even if probably not accurate to what they would have been like when alive.
@rookghosty8589
@rookghosty8589 3 года назад
@@arthmann2 Although their eye movement is limited compared to mammals, they still move quite a bit. I have kept birds and reptiles for most of my life and despite their sclerotic rings they move their eyes around a lot and are very expressive with them. The only animals I can think of with set eyes like that off the top of my head are owls. In particular I think snakes, monitors, and parrots are extremely expressive with their eyes.
@arthmann2
@arthmann2 3 года назад
@@rookghosty8589 What do you think of the T.rex's eye movement in PK? Given that predatory birds' eyes seem pretty limited in terms of movement, I tend to think that the PK rex's range of motion is slightly exagerrated.

@rookghosty8589
@rookghosty8589 3 года назад
@@arthmann2 I do not think it is unreasonable. I also volunteer at a nature center with several birds of prey and the eagles and hawks move their eyes around to watch you all the time. They are very attentive and expressive with their eyes. I will say that the way they move them is kind of different to mammals, in that it is less "smooth", if that makes any sense. The eyes will dart from target to target very quickly. I think the Rex's eye movement here reminds me more of a mammalian predator that isn't as high strung or nervous as a raptor.

It pains me when people say subspecies. Little word of advise for Bis if he sees this, the dinosaur name, such as Edmontosaurus, is actually the genus name, the second name being the species name. Animals are only a subspecies when they also have a third name. Edmontosaurus regalis and annectens would both be two different species rather than different subspecies, in the same way lions and tigers are Panthera leo and Panthera tigris.
@joshuaholke
@joshuaholke 3 года назад
I enjoy surprising people by telling them that the only dinosaur we regularly refer to by its species name is the T. rex. It is weird to think that every dinosaur name we learned as kids was just its genus, and even weirder to think of lions, tigers, jaguars, and leopards as four species of "panther" (Panthera leo and tigris as you pointed out, and then Panthera onca and pardus)

Not only do I love this game because it's all prehistoric animals, but I love how ACCURATE they all are. You want a scientifically accurate T-rex? Boom, the devs put that in there. You want a Microraptor and Psittacosaurus in their real-life skin patterns? Boom, done. You want a Triceratops with a scientifically accurate skull and horns? Boom, here you go. You want feathered Gallmimuses, Velociraptors, Utahraptors, etc. ? Say no more, the devs got it. Not only that, but they're going to shed light on animals that are barely even heard of in the popular media (Hyenadon, Miragaia, Yutyrannus, Guanlong, etc.) when it's fully released. The level of paleontological detail the developers put in is incredible, and I want to applaud them for doing it. Can't wait for the full release 🙌

Went crazy over the stunning accurate model of the creature and some bold moves by featuring some of the less know creatures like deinocirus and microtaptor But the last push that make me the absolute fanboy of a game is the furry skin of pachyrhinosaurus that is only featured in the realm of speculative zoology The team really did their job well
@prehistoricworld_

The only complaints I have in that department is the lumping of Tarbosaurus into Tyrannosaurus, and the weird removal of lips at some point through the development. Seriously, it's so strange to me why they randomly overrode the typical consensus lol.
@vjbele
@vjbele 3 года назад
@@prehistoricworld_ Yea agreed. They should have at least kept the lips, since that seems to be fairly supported now. But I do like how the different skins represent different species for some; in a way it helps introduce more species into the game without actually adding new animals. All Trex skins have ‘half-lips’

@@riot2136 Yeah tho i do wish there was one with the big lips fully covering the teeth for variety sakes if nothing else.

@@rm2569 Someone has already cracked the game files open and found the T. rex model haha. I imagine that once they figure out how to add an altered model, there'll be a lipped T. rex edit within a week since so many people share your sentiment, myself included.

@@armata_strigoi_0 Mods comign very soon after launch compared to JWE's years and years for mods to become really good would be amazing. /though modding tools for a park game would be simply the best.

The feathered trex isn’t really considered correct anymore iirc sue has a statue like sue the trex fossil and it’s statue is not feathered we go back and forth but when I get the game if I make an accurate park I probably won’t use the feathered version if new news has come up tell me it’s been a lil bit (edit “this is my opinion I’m not saying one is right one is wrong but from what I’ve seen and heard not really considered accurate”

This might sound crazy, ...but Imagine if they brought the monsters from Monster Hunter into this game as DLC!
