But since time has stopped, who can say how long a second lasts?" It's also implied that he perceives the time stop lasting longer because he's a vampire, a naturally timeless being. So to DIO, five seconds seems to last longer than it does later for Jotaro once he gains the ability to stop time.

JoJo's creator has stated in a interview that Dio was the embodiment of hating life for living in it. While he thought a character of pure happiness would be an amazing foil. So, Dio was so evil he had a series made to tell people how evil he is.

The reason Johnathan didn't do anything before he got grown is because George Joestar, his dad, didn't ever believe him when it came to Dio and everything he did because Dio was that crafty. George getting sick allowed Johnathan to investigate, get the backup he needed and then catch Dio in the act like what ended up happening. Also, Johnathan didn't have any friends especially after his dog got killed and he got his butt whooped in front of everyone.

I gotta be honest, that last video he made about Tanya put a lot of people (including me) on to CJ! And after that, I became fully invested in this man's RU-vid career! These videos are temporary cures for my depression, for real!

I know we can be tempted to see Star Platinum as a big punchy stand that also gets time stop powers But, to my understanding, the explanation would be that SP the stand is the power to protect Jotaro Notice the way it jumps into action to save him automatically, Jotaro's stand doesn't require his intervention to protect him I'd think as 'the power to protect Jotaro', perhaps just like star finger and his observation, this would explain why in a fight with Dio's "The World" He would also be able to respond in stop time to defend himself. There's also the 'the world over heaven' stand we see in that video game and Jotaro's stand still responds in the same way to power up and protect Jotaro. It's possible that no matter what Dio's stand was going to be that Jotaro's Star Platinum would match dio's ability with one of it's own as long as it's absolutely necessary. To my knowledge though, there's no canon reason to believe any of this is true and as far as we know Star Platinum was always going to be able to stop time he just needed the opportunity to realize it and utilize it.
