Even if she didn't have braids, she is still a black girl. Whether she straightens her hair or not. If you mean the trend of black women having to straighten their hair and how many darker skinned black women weren't in most films, and if they were they are "rude and obnoxious", then okay
These movies only really come around once in a generation.... fast times at ridgemont, the heathers, clueless, teen high school movies from the later part of the 90s - 00s mean girls was the last. Give it 5 x 10 more years.

Since the 1990s, movies' diversity was reflective of the American population. Hollywood's current "we need diversity" push is 100% political to keep Leftist politicians in power.
I think the best thing about Clueless is that they are popular and pretty, but not bullies or jealous girls. They don't put down others or make fun of anyone - they know their worth and have class.

When I was a teenager she was my idol. I tried to find clothes she wore and tried making hat she had. For me she was iconic. And she still is! My favorite character. I even made those braids she had. And after sometime people told me it was a cultural appropriation, sorry guys!

Dionne was ovah ..her fashion sense is so true to her culture and she’s so stunning and soft, articulate and fun. She slayed Cher. Too bad Stacey Dash ruined her career she had the potential to be a role model for girls of color.

I would like to see more YOUNG feminine dark skin black women be the MAIN CHARACTER not the best friend. Also why can’t black couples get along ? They can’t show black couples being in love and not being a STEREOTYPE always arguing and fighting.
I think this was more of like, a depiction of a high school relationship, not a mature adult one? And part of it is when Cher notices how loving and sweet Dionne and Murray are to each other when they think no ones looking. They’re relationship is goals to me in this movie 🌟
