One of Bacharach's most beautiful compositions, and no one should be allowed to sing it but Dionne. (except the Beach Boys, but they never completed the recording) She still has these beautiful eyes...
Yes she would be there. What people didn’t know was she was really good friends with Elvis. She went to one of his Vegas shows and he knew she was in the audience. He introduced her and said to the audience “Buy her record, you’ll find a signed picture of me in it.” The album sold out in Vegas. All because he said that and gave her record sales. They were such good friends and still to this day speaks very highly of him. She tells people off who never met him and tries to discredit him. That is what a friend does. If you never met the man, shut your mouth is what she always said.
My favorite. When stationed in Germany. Played her records. And was a hard rocker led zeppelin black sabbath. She was and still is beautiful talented. Bacharach n David picked her to do their songs.
I had the privilege of meeting Miss Carroll years back. What a breathtakingly beautiful woman. She had grace as she moved, dressed impeccably, and was very kind. With gentle strength. A true lady.
As a child I loved watching her on Solid Gold. She was the epitome of talent, grace and beauty. So much so I named my daughter after her🥰. Love you Ms Warwick❤.
Yeah, and what did Dionne do when her Solid Gold gig ran out ? She went to become the spokesperson for the Psychic Friends Network. She oughta be ashamed
@@shihlin1 I'm guessing she was made an offer so big it would have been foolish to turn it down. Anyway, if people didn't throw their money away on that, it would have been something else.
Different kind of " sass" Whitney used the F word freely , like people sprinkle salt. She could be vulgar in public as was her right to be. But Dionne is regal and direct.
@@cynsationalcontainergarden4911Whitney was very regal and direct as well. She got much of that from Cissy but Dionne is family so it definitely runs in the family. Whitney wasn’t afraid to put you in your place. That definitely didn’t make her in less than Dionne. Also, it’s some things of Dionne being vulgar as well. I guess you forgot all about Apprentice, huh. Make sure you get your facts together.
Respectfully, facts and opinion are different. I saw The Apprentice and it was beneath Dionne. She knew she didn't belong. I probably followed both of their careers before you were born. Maybe your definition of regal only applies to what we see on stage. I saw the Apprentice and don't recall any incidents that Dionne was involved in that come close to some of the antics we saw Whitney involved in. That reality show with Bobby was horrible. We saw bodily functions and more. I remember an interview Whitney did with Rolling Stone magazine and it was full of profanity. She was who she was . People close to her are honest about it. Nobody said she was a bad person. Dionne is a quick wit and direct. Admiring her great talent doesn't mean we have to pretend she was someone else. There is a way to "put someone in their place" without the curse out. I still have albums from Dionne's early years and don't remember any incidents. In those days, Black entertainers knew that the way they carried themselves would reflect on the entire race. Not fair, but it would. Some folks only know about Dionne because she was on the Apprentice or the Ice Spice sample . Whitney's Mom, Cissy Houston has been in the industry and carried herself very well. Whitney came from good stock. Diahann is regal and it was great to see those two icons together. Both of those women have been through and tolerated a lot and maintained their dignity. Maybe that's why I'm disappointed in the behavior of some of the younger entertainers. They paved the way for the women in the industry who don't have the same struggles.
She is absolutely exquisite!! Her demeanor, her beauty, her voice tone and her classy personality make this incredibly talented lady a giant star!! I’ve been privileged enough to shake her hand 3 times within a 25 year span of time, sweet, warm hearted and humble!!! There are very few people of her caliber who have everything great in life and some more!! She was raised right!!
@@JokesandJudgement I appreciate your response. Just know that in our history, your remark can be seen as racist because of how we're negatively stereotyped. #history
I absolutely love Dionne Warwick's music from the 1960s-1990s. Last year I bought her box set catalogs of the decades and I'm just going back in time enjoying her music. The late great beautiful classy Diahann Carroll looks fabulous. Dionne Warwick looks fabulous too with her signature cheekbones. 🙂
I have every single album of Karen Carpenter & Dionne Warwick's. That's some damn good music. Luther Vandross couldn't live without Ms. Warwick's music..
@@Tkimba2 the deeper problem is the mentality that is ignorant of the very narrow identity some of us keep themselves in...so pathetic. I saw her live & she tells the story of gathering snoop dog, maybe tupac etc to come to her house & they did, well she said something to them like, "do you she a b***h. She's tough & classy.
I was a 5yr old white kid who listened to Dionne Warwick on 8-track in my grandmother's very hoighty-toighty library in a mansion singing Burt Bacharach...EPIC
Kennedy Center Honors finally gave her long overdue flowers 🎉and recognition for her stellar career. She is still beautiful and is still singjng. She recorded with Dolly Parton on a newly released single. We are blessed to still have her healthy and active on social media too! Cheers Ms. Warwick.
@eileendobbs8009 Cynthia Errivo. She has an amazing voice. So ethereal and every time she performs at the Kennedy Center to honor a legend, she has never disappointed. She will be next on screen in the movie version of Wicked this Christmas. It should be amazing.
Dionne Warwick not only has one of the most beautiful voices but after watching this interview I realise she has a truly beautiful nature as well ……..she most surety is not only a great artist but Is a beautiful, beautiful lady. Christopher Australia
