We harvest 28 beautiful Sockeye Salmon from the Kenai Peninsula on this dip netting trip that will provide us with ample food for this winter. After cleaning and processing the fish for the freezer we cook up fresh salmon lettuce wraps and garlic bread on the outdoor grill.
We appreciate you tagging along for our Alaskan adventure 😀
Thank you for watching and supporting our channel! 💙

My complimenting Eric doesn’t detract from Arielle’s awesomeness. I’ve commented on some of their other videos about how badass Arielle is and left Eric out of those comments. This time I just wanted to give kudos to Eric. Relax. It’s ok to let men know how awesome they are.

@@dinahquillen9380 why are people getting so upset that I complimented Eric? By complimenting Eric doesn’t in any way dismiss Arielle. Like I said in my previous comment, I have commented on other videos about how awesome Arielle is, nobody piped up and said hey what about Eric! Eric is a wonderful man and should be complimented in his own right. And you know what. I bet Arielle would agree with me!

I’ve watched you two for over a year now. Enjoying immensely. My husband and I lived in far north of British Columbia for years, and when we added a porch to our cabin, it expanded our living space it almost seemed double. We added the porch, fully insulated, narrow window, door and screen door (l loved the screen door in the summer, so no bugs, but could open to enjoy the sun). In the winter, we were able to store hoses, and all that stuff afraid to freeze. And the heat transfer from inside the cabin to open door into porch was perfect. You don’t realize how much warm air escapes every time you open the exterior door in your living space like you have now. We put a lot of stuff out there that really opened up our space inside the cabin. Loved, loved it. If you can afford it, I would highly recommend, it’s an amazing addition to your living space your will really appreciate in the winter!

@@alaskauncut4383 yes! Buckets Sport Grill and Kenai River Brewing both were great restaurants, and the Fred Meyer right in town had all we needed for making lunches to bring on our guided day trips to fish. We stayed at the Moose Creek Lodge, where the owner makes your breakfast and has about 30 years of experience working with a LOT of local guides- perfect for a total rookie like me. We had a fabulous time halibut fishing with the crew from J and J Smart Charters, and another day we took a fly-in for sockeye to a smaller more remote area (Wolverine Creek and Big River Lake) with Alaska West Air. That flight was the highlight of our trip, for sure, and I'd HIGHLY recommend it! There is a pretty lone and rustic lodge out there, too, called Redoubt Bay Lodge that would be quite pricy, but part of a dream fishing getaway. If you know nothing about a fishing trip like me, finding a lodge with an owner who knows all the guides is key. If you know a lot more about what you are doing, there are camping areas, hotels, fish processors, and all sorts of guides for hire in the Soldotna area. It was so satisfying to catch our own fish and have it shipped back with us, a vacation that can almost pay for itself with what I would have to pay for the fish here in California. Good luck and enjoy the experience! For me, it would have been worth it even if we came home with nothing!

We visited Alaska for the first time in late July and only had time to fly into Anchorage and check out the Kenai Peninsula. We did some fishing in the Russian/Kanai rivers and were wondering why some folks were carrying such huge nets. We also drove by the beaches of Kanai and saw lots of people fishing out there. While driving through some areas, on our way down to Homer, we also saw many homes with green houses. This video truly shed light on how folks live out there and enlighten us on all the curiosities we accumulated during our trip. Thank you and we love forward to visiting AK again in the near future!

How lucky you are to get Pacific Salmon. Here in Scandinavia it is really hard to get. The shops offer the farmed "salmon" that is not healthy to eat, and the farming kills off our Norwegian fjords. They even sell this unnatural product in the U.S.A. Please all: boicott the farmed salmon.

Thank you, where I buy my Salmon, if they don't have wild Alaskan either , King, Coho or Sockeye, I wont buy it. No farmed fish at all. They have what they call European Organic farm raised, which is probably what you have. I wont eat it.

unfortunately over fishing is leading to farming being the better way to go. We're over fishing many areas of the world and the fish populations are getting smaller and smaller.

@@charlesbaldo Bless you for not buying or eating it. I must tell you, I have read the requirements for "organic" farmed salmon, and it is rubbish... the say that one "should" have less fish in the net, if possible... the fish is only to be fed fish, if possible, and the fish is not to have any medicine, if possible. I don`t know if to laugh or cry... and on may wonder how anybody like us are to determine what is in front of us... an organic fish or not... It is only to pull wool over the public`s eyes!
