Hi Mate, I bought one of these about 4 years ago and ina terrible state. I fully reconditioned it including paint and all components and its been a fantastic unit. We've sown around 100 acres with outstanding results. I'll try to put some pictures and videos up for you soon. Cheers!
Hello, any update with this? I’m shopping around for something to guide me as ive 40 year old pastures to reseed. Looking at aitchison, simtech, underhaug/herbamat, and Czech sms with coulters but all different systems and concepts. Wondering which would work best if I can shave the ground first(I have a flail mulched and a mower)
@johnoconnell3842 the Connor Shea coil tyne coulters drill is a fantastic unit last year I sowed pasture in an at least 40 year old paddock and had fantastic results. Best to get the old grass off via burning if possible but I've had excellent results over 3 or 400 acres with this drill
That looks like it does an awesome job. How did it turn out? I looked and do not see any follow up videos of the emerging crop. I hope it emerged as good as the planting looks.
G'day IRDeezlSmoke Thanks for your comment & question. This is a piece of 1980s technology using a coulter disc ahead of a coil tine with a Baker Boot fitted all on a rigid 3pl frame. I'd prefer an individually, contour following, single disc opener like the JD90 series opener. Yes I'll post some pics of the results.
@@brucecobb6130 I agree, the tine type has no individual depth control. But it sure left the surface in nice shape behind it. I am impressed. I hope it emerged as good as it looked at planting.
