Wofa Kofi, your kind of journalism is exceptional I must confess. This is such a great development, it's high time we expanded our aviation sector. Kudos to you and your team
This is a great development. The traffic at KIA sometimes can be overwhelming. This will go a long way to ease the pressure and also improve the aviation sector in Ghana.
If the reason why Nigerians are boarding flights from Ghana to foreign countries is because of less scrutiny at the destination airports then pls they should stay and board from their country. We don’t want any foreign nationals tarnishing our image any further. Some Ghanaians and fellow African nationals have gotten Ghana’s name in the news for bad reasons abroad. Let’s preserve the little dignity we have left
Hello Kofi! Earlier this year, we heard that the Kumasi International Airport will be fully operational in June 2023. We are in October 2023. To date, we haven't heard why the airport isn't opened yet for international flights. Don't you think investigating this and keeping your listeners informed about the status of the airport opening to International flights will be newsworthy?
Don't you know that Kumasi airport so called "Kumasi International Airport" has been stop for a long time. I'm even shock that 90% of Ghanaians doesn't know this. Most of the all the projects in the Asanti region have come to a stop because NPP government came clean that they don't have the fund to continue. If you don't believe go and see for yourself, all the contractors have left the site because they have not been paid. Kofi abeg what you are saying is not true no airline are planning to come to Kumasi. Please do your research well before you come and give fauls information. Don't believe because politicians say so, do your own reach before you come and give any information. None of the airline you mentioned has any plans to fly to Kumasi. Please verify on their website for confirmation if they are planning new routs to Kumasi.
Ethiopian already flies to Sao Paolo. They do it directly from Addis Ababa because the planes can make it straight to GRU. Therefore, no need to go via ACC. The fact is, Addis is at a very high elevation so it is difficult to serve North America directly on the way from ADD. To overcome this they use two methods. one is a technical stop (used to be in Dublin but will move to Rome) then direct on the way back. The second is to get fifth freedom rights in Abidjan, Lome and hopefully Accra. I really with the Atlanta flight was via Accra. But alas, you can't have everything so United from IAD for me, for now.
@@kwameacheampong5108 from Ethiopia to Sao Paulo yes.... But if u want from Ghana to Canada why don't we also deserve fast and cheap price .... Please do u know how much we are paying to go through Ethiopia to Accra.... We are not talking about only Ethiopia airlines but any flights that can fly ate least from west Africa... direct..
@@marcq2029 I understand. I am not an expert in scheduling, but I think ACC-GRU would have to be served by a Ghanian airline or LATAM Brasil. Ethiopian likely cannot see a business case to request a fifth freedom flight from Accra when they are already serving it from ADD without penalty. That is the sticking point.
