Kotoka Airport Why? 

Very corrupt guys at the airport..especially the ones at the arrivals they ask for money while checking your documents..very shameful for the country's image.

It's very bad to see workers begging and extorting people for money

The airport workers beg travelers for money n some r very rude especially those sitting at the exit n it’s so disgusting

All this money and still Ghana is the same as it is. We cause our own problems.

Workers in the UK, especially health care workers, pay for parking at their workplace, Kofi. Nothing is free on this planet.

Nobody takes off shoes at international airports abroad anymore except for Ghana. I was surprised when I got to Kotoka and asked to take my shoes off. Sometimes it takes too long for Ghana to do things inline with the rest of the world

Some facts: Heathrow - when you drop off you get a few minutes to drop off but when you pick up you have to pay no matter how long or short Gatwick is this same brother. The business dynamics of shopping malls and airports completely different so please compare to other airports overseas. We want Ghana to be like our overseas counterparts so let’s be prepared to pay for it. We’ve complained about how bad the airport has been. Now they’ve given us a world class airport which we gotta fund maintain my brother. My guy workers also pay from parking in the UK just subsided. It adds up. These businesses need to maintain these airports and car parks so we can stop complaining brother. I hope you get! Ghana must move forward. We want a better Ghana so we gotta pay. Europe is working, US is working. Guess what? We pay. You want UK/US you must pay. Let’s research brothers and sisters :)

Kofi you're right on the pickup point. But for staff the airport needs to create parking points outside the the busy part of the airport and provide free shuttle bus systems for the staff. It works this way in all the major airports around the globe

Ghana was my wife's favourite country until someone followed her all the way from the duty free stores to the washroom at her gate to ask her for money. She is still scarred from that 😅

We as a people are inherently mean and wicked. I believe we all have a great delight, and seeing the misery, frustrations of our people if that is not the truth then what is? Look at our harbor. The with taxes they charge you on clearing your car from customs. The suffering is just too much. I hope the president would at least do something before he lives office in this regard.

workers should pay because workers alone would seize 25% of the parking, but they can offer at discounted monthly fee, but 30 mins pick up should be free. The scanners are worse and it makes flying emberassing and is disgraceful to take of your shoes, your right

Hi Kofi I’m a Ghanaian working at Charles de Gaule airport in France and our parking place is never free for the workers we have parking cards to enter our specific parking places for worker’s but our company pays to the airport authorities called ADP.but there is a free 10minute given to pick up or drop someone at the airport.thanks for living the Ghana airport authority number on your screen 🫡

My issue is them preventing family members/friends to enter inside the airport. It's only in this country such practice allowed. Afterall, you won't cross the check point with them. And the manner they would talk to you is terrible especially if you are not "influential".

In new york, at JFK Airport when u enter parking lot u take a ticket but it gives you about 30mins free if only u can get out before the 30mins u pay nothing

Most of us pay for parking in Canada especially healthcare workers. Downtown is even worse very expensive to park

I agree with you Kofi regarding the drop off point and most importantly the parking issue. We can’t even manage our own parking and had to outsource it to Servest which I reckon we pay for their services alongside the money they earn from people parking their cars around the airport. The government wants to create more jobs but can’t set up a division under airport security to manage parking? Unbelievable 😂

Bro kofi you have a point but i don't think its going to work.A quick pick up sounds great but its going to cause a lot of traffic.Even in America most times i see a lot of traffic when people try to do a quick pick-up and the law works here as you know. In Ghana the law doesn't work properly so believe it people people won't obey and that ain't good.

It paves way to corruption. Why should a worker pay for parking. There should be a pick up point. We always do things to the extreme.

For the Parking, workers has to pay at the Airport. Even Here in Hamburg we also pay for Parking at Our Working places 😂

In UK you can’t pick or drop anyone at the front of the airport entrance you have to use the car park and pay .

....and Kumasi Airport too. One cannot drive through to just either drop or to pick without being made to pay at the barrier, even if you spend less than 5mins in all. One needs to pay as soon as u cross the barrier for whatever reason! Why?

If anyone ask you for money at the airport look at his/her ID, go to the customer service desk or the security and report the person, your money will be refunded and the person will loose the job

Kofi, your information is totally wrong on staff parking. There is a designated car park for the staffs of Ghana airports company limited. If you're a staff and you decide to park at undesginated car park then you have to pay... Thank you.

At international airports, if you spend over 10 mins, that’s when you pay. If you’re in your 10 mins, you don’t pay a thing. When you get to the car parks, you pay some coins for the ticket. Ghana ankasa…they like doing some things like the western world however, their standard of living scream otherwise.

Bro Kofi it's right for workers in airport to pay . After all it's not charity they're doing. My workplace we pay for parking it's normal across all workplaces in United kingdom.
