Yet gym bros can't figure out how to do anything but curl in the squat rack and bench press.. Juggernaut AI is the best money I spend each month. Still hitting PRs after almost 18 months on it at age 40.
It is really incredible to me how versatile information like this is. This is like a graduate course on self-help lol. I have a PhD in an applied science, I play video games competitively in my free time, and I lift. The guidelines in this video apply to all 3. These rules actually apply to ALL learning and skill improvement to some significant level, in my opinion. I find it ironic and intuitive at the same time, and also amusing, that the lifting community is the one that has figured it out so clearly.
Thanks Chad! Great content as always. Really informative. Please keep sharing what you're learning and figuring out.... it is such a help to all of us who are much less experienced and love learning. Thanks again.
Just to wrap my head around terms, is adaptive resistance the same as the repeated bout effect (RBE)? And I did a quick search for directed adaptation and found only one other powerlifting-related mention by Louis Alexis Gratton...the rest seem to be unrelated. How does this compare with some research on DUP showing that utilizing multiple repetition ranges fare *better* than a single repetition amount for strength increase, especially for trained athletes? (see Nuckols' January '18 article Periodization: What the Data Say)
Think about how difficult it would be to find information on how to program and how programming works if it weren’t for JTS, thank you so much chad and max
So if I get this straight. There are two adaptive resistance problems. One where you perform the lift for to long and all these aspects like hypertrophy, neural output etc start to decline. So you have to vary it with other exercises and one where if you do those other exercises the directed adaptation goes down because of not doing the competition exercises
CWS or anyone, after cycling out accessories for interest or resensitisation how long before reintroducing the same exercise, set, reps etc, hypertrophy mesos for example, 2 exercise motions alternative months work?
@@JuggernautTrainingSystems I'm a home gym guy so somewhat limited in terms of a library of exercise selections, though I can obviously vary loading ranges etc, thanks a lot
Chad, let's say if you are starting your 4th month of a "strength block" and you are starting to lack confidence and motivation. Lacking confidence to even squat 80%+ (never miss reps in training) and lacking the excitement i had before to lift heavy on my heavy days. Could this be a form of adaptive resistance and time for change?
