I recently had the opportunity to review the L.A.B. Golf Directed Force 2.1 Putter. They did a fitting and shipped a putter custom fitted just for me. Here's my thorough review of this amazing putter. Longer than most of my videos, but necessary to cover everything. This is not a paid product endorsement. Sincerely think this putter is amazing and performs as advertised. That is rare in today's golf market. If you can handle the price, I strongly recommend this putter and the one I reviewed is at least for now, the putter I use on the course. I still love this putter but I now play a Honu Putter which is very similar, but superior in a few ways and costs much less. The Honu Review is here: • THE BEST PUTTER EVER M...

David, Great and fair question. No one Needs an expensive putter. I put this putter in my.bag because the cost to me was $0 and I do feel it performs better than others I've used. That said, I believe everyone should be fit for a putter as I stated in this video...even if you are buying a $5 putter at the thrift store. I will have a video on that posted in the next 10 days that will completely clarify this. I do putter fittings for $50 and the customer walks away knowing the length of putter, the best shape for them, what type of alignment line and where it should be placed on the putter, how the shaft should attach to the putter and what grip is best for them...If they buy a putter through one of the companies for which I'm a fitter, there is no cost...if not they can take that info anywhere and know what to buy. To be completely transparent, I'm not sure if this putter performs better because it is custom fit or because of the putter itself. But as I've always. believed the stroke is muchmore important than the putter.

@@misteroneputt Hi, Thank you for the reply. I live in the UK, 77yrs old, a retired head greenkeeper and play off 15 h/cap. Putting was always my strength until I caught my rt. hand in the greensmower blades 20yrs ago and the putting has gotten worse to the extent that am considering calling it a day but as a last resort thinking of having a putter fitting but cannot afford $300 plus for a new one. ( Unless I want a divorce!!!) Hopefully I can find a fitter who would adjust my present putter, if required and needed, and not just wanting me to purchase a new putter. I find your videos very informative and interesting. Thank you. Stay safe.

@@annemitchell5701 David...Thank you for the nice feedback. Sorry to hear about the accident. I can't imagine how much more difficult an injury like that would make putting or even golfing at all. FWIW, i purchased one of these almost exactly one year ago. I came across it in a couple of different pro-shops the prior year, and was amazed at how well i could putt with it so I just decided to take the plunge. I've been playing since the early 1980's, and i played with a Ping Pal for most of that time until the past 5-10 years, and i consider myself a good putter before i bought this. I'm a 5 handicap, and i'm like everyone else -- looking for every advantage i can get. I happily declare this as the best putter i've ever used, and if you don't think you're getting torqued by other putters, just putt with this thing for a month or two and go back to your old putter for a comparison. It's truly amazing how steady it is, and how much it opens your eyes to how much you're likely fighting your own putting stroke with other putters.
@misteroneputt

Chris, Thanks for your comments. I completely agree on the torque. I did switch from this to a Honu simply because I like the feel from the Bamboo. But other than that they are functionally the same eliminating torque. This type of putter is definitely the future of putting.

Thank you Greg...I'll bet posting a review soon on the Honu putter which claims to have the same features in terms of no torque. I received it yesterday and plan to try it today and then finish shooting video tomorrow and have the review up by Friday...So if you can wait that long, it might be a good comparison. You can do a video fitting for either and the Honu is about $100 less expensive...not trying to talk you into or out of anything and I love my Directed Force 2.1. Have hear about this since few year back but have always been a great putter with my odessey tour black series one and averages 28 putts. I miss my 7-10 footer 4/10 when under pressure so decided to test this when a guy posted for resale (no fitting here in BKK but found it fit my eye n stroke and got a local shaft shop to help make some adjustments for me - now lie 69deg, loft 3.5, 35 inch with the 2m grip). I did alot of 1 n 2 ball drills at home n it has sharpen my overall putts n surprising even the 30-50 footers becomes a breeze. My average putt over last 20rounds I played has dropped to 23 putts and naturally my overall hcp too. As you rightly pointed out, not only a great putter but also training too. Bonus - I am able to putt off gree rough n even mini chip without need for my hybrid or wedge as it offers 100% crisp contact once u master it.

Awesome results...the key thing is simply that the putter face wants to stay where you point it. It doesn't try to twist or torque off line. Most people learn to overcome their putter's tendency to twist. With this you don't have to do that. I'm posting a review next week on the only other brand that doesn't twist like this. It's called Honu and it costs considerably less than the directed force and functions as well or better. I'm now a certified fitter for either brand.
@VKBKK
@VKBKK 3 года назад
@@misteroneputt 101% agree about non twist n torgue. What about Edel putter which claims to be similar?
@misteroneputt
@misteroneputt 3 года назад
@@VKBKK I've tried an Edel in the devices from Directed Force and Honu and it does torque. Edel is similar...low torque, but ONLY if it is a 100% custom fit for you...They reduce the torque with weight in the shaft and grip and on the heel of the putter...so an Edel putter is set up so that in your specific swing it will torque less, but someone else with your putter would probably be miserable. Or if you ever change your grip style or stroke it would not work for you. Additionally, they do not eliminate torque and twisting, simply reduce it. The engineering and designs by Honu completely eliminate the torque and twisting without requiring a custom fit, although the results are even better if the putter is fit to you. The fit is all about comfort and ball position which improves your consistency. But those putters work better than anything else straight off the shelf.

@Mo-cz6ud
@Mo-cz6ud 3 года назад
@@fishblade2 Here is my recommendation. If you are in AZ try Cool Clubs. My fitting at Club Champion was great. They have the fitting model and all the cameras to help you out. So why not purchase from Club Champion. I was fitted and made the purchase on 16 April 2021. I called Club Champions corporate office this past Friday, 22 May and was told it may arrive in 20-23 June. I am trying not to cuss. So here is how it works. I ordered DF Putter through Club Champion. It goes to LAB Putters. They produce the putter. Yes, they were a bit backlogged yet the reason for the 3-5wk wait. The putter is then sent to Club Champion for final prep and installation, then it is sent to your Club Champion location. Now with a due respect this process from a logistics perspective, a military perspective and a business perspective is B.S. and not customer friendly. If LAB produces the putter then they should ship it to the local Club Champion dealer you purchased it from ready to go. All this intermediary BS is another reason I will not purchase from Club Champion. I am so beside myself right now. My putting has been sooo bad my GHIN went from 4.7 to 7.8 primarily due to putting. My lowest putting total was 38 putts which far above the average in the past 5 rounds. Yesterday I went to Golf Galaxy, purchased a putter shaft and grip. Cut and installed the shaft into a previous putter head I had in the garage, put on the grip in preparation for a two day tournament this weekend. Result: $80 in skin money and only 35 putts. End of my Rant: A guy in our club gave his testimony today. He said 20ft and in it extremely dangerous. Butter. I asked him why he is not using it, he said because of the way it looks. You can buy these putters stock, without custom fitting now at the PGA Superstore. Check with the store to get the putter specs. Sorry for the rant. I am just HOT having to play all this golf with out the putter I purchased in April. More skins tomorrow and I will go from hot to warm. :)

@@fishblade2 My fitter was great. The tools they use to narrow down all things about your putting is phenomenal. Hi John,I'm Eric from the Netherlands and I really like your aproach to putting and your tips help me much in my practice. I have the same question as David has,is stroke more important than equipment? But you as a top putter likes this putter so much that you put it in your bag,what makes this one so different?,as you can also put very well with a broomstick? If I would like to buy one,how do I get a personal fitting,living a long way from Nevada? keep the face straight!
@misteroneputt
@misteroneputt 3 года назад
Hi David, The stroke is certainly much more important than the putter. I do like this putter very much and seem to put incredibly well with it. I'm sure in the future, I will find others I like as well or better. This video answers the question as to what makes this putter difference...it is Lie Angle Balanced and Torque balanced versus putters with toe hang or face balance...in other words this putter is balanced when you swing it versus when you hold it. That said, there are videos on the channel of me putting quite well with a sprinkler head attached to a piece of pvc pipe. L.A.B. Golf has a video fitting option on their website and might possibly have a fitter in the Netherlands. In my opinion the primary purpose of a fitting is to make sure you have a putter that you aim properly. David Edel has proven that everyone has an aim bias and that the shape of putter head, their body type, the length of the putter, the type of attachment to the shaft and even the type and location of the alignment aid all impact aim. I'm working on a video on why everyone should be fit for a putter...even if you are buying one from a garage sale or thrift store. It's taking longer than expected to put that one together because I want it to be so accurate and simple that you can fit yourself and then go purchase a putter that you aim properly and that works for you. Give me another week or two and I'll have that up. You can always email me more questions at john@mr1putt.com

I just want to say, I thought I had putting down. But went through a few different putters myself. Not getting a great feel and feeling like the putters were the problem. Granted I never had a fitting. Which I'm going to have done soon. It's nice to learn as much about equipment as I can, and hope you agree. I haven't seen any other videos he has posted. But I've heard that same statement before from other RU-vid reviewers. Then the LAB and Axis putters hit the market. I believe these are game changers, for what people have been thinking about putters. Again I'm not speaking for this RU-vid channel. I'm just going by all the new information out there.
