New S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Jeffrey Mace makes the big announcement to the public that S.H.I.E.L.D. is officially back. (From Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4, Episode 3). Subscribe: goo.gl/mo7HqT
I sometimes watch clips of Agents of SHIELD and feel like, at this point, they are better protectors of Earth than the Avengers. Like, how many times have they saved the planet while the Avengers just kind of sat around doing nothing. Quake and May could’ve probably taken Crossbones out in a day. I mean, they deal with more enhanced threats more often, and don’t tend to lose. Since I’m one of those that believes time travel in Season 5 caused the SHIELD team in the MCU timeline to leave, and therefore the latter half of Season 5 and all of Seasons 6 and 7 take place in an alternate timeline, and since Season 5 has Infinity War happen and doesn’t have a snap, I assume that SHIELD being there stopped Thanos. Meaning while the Avengers being sad after losing is because they needed way more help than they actually had.
why do you think the second half of season 5 happened in a new timeline? they saved earth, which is consistent with the movies. season 5 going the way it did is what prevented an alternate timeline from being created.
I always ask myself what happened on the 6 months in between the season 4 finale and the coulson's team being on the future. Ok talbot was in coma but shield should not be dismantled, and all the inhumans/watchdogs problems? Ivanov was still out there to guide team, with all his resources. What i dislke from season 5 is that they forget everything the show was bringing up together since season 1/2 to give us a ''coulson's team space adventures''
Zander usually they do their "crossovers" the week before or the week after the movie comes out. Since the movie has about a month until it comes out its safe to say they haven't connected the movie to the show yet. My guess would be the crossover will be the first episode after the movie comes out.
rip93ford I know that. I'm not asking about the crossover. I'm asking about where this sits in the timeline. This clip is huge because it means S.H.I.E.L.D. can be used in the films again as it's a legit organization once more.
I felt like Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. seasons 4-7 is not canon in the MCU anymore when it became rated TV-14. Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. seasons 1-3 which was rated TV-PG is canon in the MCU.
I’m not saying Mace is bad (far from it). One thing I don’t understand though is, why would the government not have Nick Fury be the Director again? It was common knowledge that he was alive at this point and I am pretty sure he isn’t busy with anything important. He isn’t a wanted criminal. Also, he is smart and has lots of allies and recourses to make SHIELD stronger than it was before. Also, we all know how paranoid and careful Fury is. This means that he will be very careful not to repeat the same mistakes as before and since he would now be the one helping build SHIELD instead of just simpily joining it when it was already a thing, he would have much more control over who gets to join. This way, he is able to vet all the new people himself. This makes it harder for another SHIELD infiltration. Also, he is just pretty damn good at the job.
SHIELD and SWORD are really weird. Their relationship to the US government is so vague. They’re headquartered in the US and sometimes have these American flags around and work with the FBI, but sometimes they say they’re international organizations that supersede borders. Which is it?
Yes we are, I just hope that at the most Coulson shows up in Infinity war, which with such a large cast is possible, or at least for the movies to acknowledge the fact that shield has returned, by either having them in them or just mentioning that it still exists.
