This is one of my favourites. He is exploring his vocal techniques and this is another side to him that I didn’t know I need.

It's all him and that's why Somebody is one of my faves, his voice is just so different but still slaying!

He said he recorded each song with a different voice and the first 7 songs are about love and the rest about breaking up. He said it to Yoongi

Agree with your theory. Song is like trying to get over it and still wishing that the other person is finding that anyone else is not the person he is and won't ever be. This album is a journey and it is very emotional.

YES! I totally agree with that reading: He's broken inside but he's in a club and there's that beat taking over. I think it's him hearing the beat outside of him and resonating with his own thoughts. He's trying to move on but she's still walking in his mind

Somebody has always been one if my favorites from the start. I was dumbfounded with the beginning verse, didn’t think it was him. Then I was surprised when he sang it live. He is really something. So good.

JK and his lower register is something to behold! Similar to him starting off Pied Piper.

I love it! His voice acrobatics are just mind blowing in all of these songs, we all get used to his amazing talent and forget to listen to every facet of the lyrics because his voice is like a musical instrument in the song along with his overwhelming, interesting, sounding vocals! These songs reach all international tastes, it’s a one world music project? I feel that reaching out globally was his goal. He loves Army so much and at least one song if not the whole album will touch them ❤

Apart from Standing next to you, it is Somebody and Closer to you that stand out to me. His vocals 🤌

JK said himself it is a love story from the beginning, falling in love and the end of that love.

To make it clear: JK did not co-write or co-produce any track on this album. He could have, but he said he doesn't have any stories to tell at the moment, so keeping it real instead of faking something. He focused on working on his vocal skills here.

Your reaction was exactly the same as mine, except I stopped the song and went looking to see if Jungkook did a collab with someone I didn't know about. I loved the element of surprise. His vocal range is just getting better and better. You at 1.07 is just magical. I do this every time.

This song is another deep one, that stays on repeat. Here's my take: Think this is mixture of two relationships.. The romantic one with her and the relationships within the group. Based on the lyrics, He's trying to came to terms "that the romantic relationship is over." In fact he believes the signs of it being over has been there for awhile "they've been merely going through the motions" But, the lyric about "winter and summer". makes me think about a few lyrics in the song Too Sad To Dance, where he says he didn't receive a Christmas gift "winter" How something happened between him and his friends "summer" Thing got so bad "hot" it caused him feel like no one loved him..etc.. How they wouldn't even except his apology, leading him to eventually reach out to his father. After speaking with his father in the song Too Sad To Dance, who told him "he didn't need romance, he could walk alone and didn't need no one to dance". So now he's able to say in the song Somebody.. "I hope you find that somebody... I hope you know that somebody ain't me". Not sure if its related but getting the feeling Somebody is about the period of time he was singing about in Too Sad To Dance. Also, I've seen videos and comments about a time when the group almost broke up or thought they weren't going to recover from the global 2019-2021 shut down period. OMG!!! It was truly hard for everyone during that time.

My mind can't help but connect this to SDL ( Somebody Does Love) from Suga's DDay album.

I think this I my least favorite.. The unfamiliar sound of his voice, if it's all him, and also.. I feel it's missing ritm, can't catch the vibe... I can't see JK vibing, moving to it I would like to hear from him why this song is on the album... But I get what you say, the beat not for moving, for drunk ones. (Never liked it)
