Totally agree. Easily his best, it's such a magical and brilliantly scripted film and of course, River Phoenix's character dying and him passing away in real life too, makes it even more touching.
Stand by me is the greatest cause it is so real. i bought the Princess Bride for my nieces, cause it was my favourite. However how can anyone pick ? they are all so amazing.
stand by me is a masterpiece ..it for some reason gets sort of lost in discussions about great films , but in reality is much better than some that get high accolades...
in the all time list, I'd put When Harry Met Sally above A Few Good Men...BUT, AFGM is my TOP 90's movie. I don't think it's the best movie of the 90's...but, it's the 90's movie I personally like the most.
Rob Reiner must just be gutted that he cast River Phoenix, and River was the first of the boys to die in real life. That must have gutted him. I'm sure he would have had a special bond with all his actors, but especially the kids from Stand By Me, because they were so young. He must have felt like a father figure to them.
Misery would’ve been better if it wasn’t toned down so much. In the book she chops off his feet and torches the stumps. And she runs over a State Trooper with the lawn mower
Rob Reiner reconsiles the weak Nuclear, Strong Nuclear, and Electromagnetic forces with Gravity. Wins the Prize for both Physics and Chemistry. Headline reads : Meathead wins Nobel Prize.
Thank you.... Not sure what triggered his advanced TDS, maybe the fact his last 5 of 6 flopped miserably at the box office and no studio will touch him.
@@sergiosanchezpadilla6941 what happened is a bunch of idiotic hypocrites joined a death cult. That’s what happened and Reiner has spoken out again at the man who literally attempted a coup against the rightfully elected government. They are terrorists and I guarantee Reiner doesn’t care if lower life forms like them don’t watch his movies. 😏
He didn't direct Dolores Claiborne. Taylor Hackford did. And yes it's not great but the cinematography and lighting makes it worth watching. And Kathy Bates is great in everything.
