As someone who *also* obsessively watched behind the scenes features of my favorite movies, this is an ABSOLUTE WIN! I was lowkey worried that Matt Reeves wouldn't be returning to continue this franchise, but Wes Ball definitely knows and cares about his audience !
This is fast becoming my fav film so far out of all the new releases. Im so interested in the apes culture and how the lore of Caesar evolved. I cant wait for the next installment.
I’m a huge physical media collector. I believe it’s truly the only way to really have something you love. I am so excited to see this version of the movie watching hours of bonus. Features was so much of my childhood and it was really really cool to hear him say the same.
Can't wait to watch it! I just discovered your channel, and I'm really happy to find someone who's diving into Apes lore and also VFX work (which has been incredible since Rise). I wanna learn more! Cheers from France! 🍻
It'll be awesome to do a live watch party. Only requirement would be everyone needs to have their own copy. Do a countdown and we can start at the same time. Maybe Wes can join us for it!
I got into VFX because of the bonus features for Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. They mean more to me than you'll ever know, this is something I've always wanted to see from Weta
I love behind the scenes features my favorites I use to rewatch was an Antomony of a Dewback from A New Hope Special Edition they had at the opening of showing how they put the Dewback into that I know miles may vary I'm excited about rewatched the Behind The Planet Of The Apes Doc recently as well on my Blu-Copy of the 68 Film yeah I want to see this as well.
I wanted to see the raw cuts of the other three. Seriously. The scene where Caesar is being left at the primate "sanctuary" was heartbreaking, but I thought Andy Serkis's performance was not fully translated by the VFX. I wanted to see where VFX was either not as good or in some cases, better, than the original performances in all three movies.
Just a small comment: A Christmas Carol from 2009 starring Jim Carey as Scrooge has the entire movie shown in motion capture as an extra on the disc. So Apes is not the first movie to have the raw cut of a movie / recommended you check it out if you have not seen it
Yes, this sounds so cool. I was going to Amazon the 4K but for some strange reason it is way overpriced. I wound up ordering the steelbook from Walmart. Look forward to it and your unboxing. And I too am a big fan of special features. I think the Mummy DVD had the first directors commentary I ever listened to, and I just thought it was the greatest thing. And dont get me started on Star Wars back in the day, what with all those documentaries like The Beginning and Empire of Dreams. Also bonus to Ape Nation for a nod to Ahmed Best, who took way too much abuse and very little recognition. #PhysicalMediaStrong
I still hate what they did with próximas Caesar he only wants what was best for the apes and they could of continued the old franchise without making it hundreds of years later
