In this video, I try 2 different methods to create an inlay on a cutting board, in the first half of the video I use Total Boat resin poured to the cnc cavity.
In the second half I do a traditional inlay with a piece of walnut into a piece of countertop that I bought at Home Depot. This a tried and proven technique using Vectric V-Carve software check out this video for more information • The VCarve Inlay Techn...
For me, the learning was about the inlay and not so much about the cutting boards, which is why I went out and bought a few different cutting boards to experiment with.
for support and voiced over version check out

The author does like to ru-vid.comUgkxkNYRBJuiJ6EwD-tQSAlxg0eFKsnR2cgz from scratch, shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. As another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us don’t have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we won’t be able to practice the full stack project, is still great.

Always amazed at how much detail you can get from this inlay method, and always super cool to see the final reveal. Thanks for sharing!

I've done a lot of epoxy inlays but was always intimidated by the wood inlays. I never thought of using the Japanese pull saw. 🔥

Nice! I've been making resin inlay coasters using a little laser to do the cuts. I rip the boards down quite thin, laser cut one all the way through, then glue them back together and I have a nice clean outline for the resin.

I’ve given this some thought… The only reason Jimmy is cleaning up this walnut inlay, chip by chip, with a tiny handplane, and not just slapping this bad boy in the planer, is well… Because he’s really enjoying it 😊

Not sure if epoxy is a good idea for a cutting board though. Not really safe to eat if it chips. Also try a heat gun for hard to take off stickers. These didn't look hard because they probably were nice and intended them to come off but other ones are a pain.

But let's be honest, this is the worst design for a cutting board!! 😄😄😄 Who the hell wants the bottom of a work boot on their food prep surface?? What happened, the American Cockroach Society didn't want to sponsor a video? Couldn't get a sponsorship from the Turd Collectors Association?
