Yes, Frick yes and more yes. I found some chinese waxed canvas tool rolls on amazon for like 20 bucks and I can't believe how well they're holding up just because it's so hard to screw up a tool roll. I've got about 3 sets of wrenches and a set of screwdrivers in one roll that fits in my hand. Most people fill an entire toolbox with that, and they just stay under the back seat of my truck.

look for a Singer 201. it is considered Singer's finest straight stitch machine ever made.it has incredible piercing power. mine goes thru 16 layers of duck canvas. they made millions of them back in the day. if you hunt around you should be able to pick one up for a bargain. Around here they go for about 300$ used but i got mine for 100$.

Look for an “industrial” unit.
@allenbrown8899
@allenbrown8899 5 лет назад
@@jimmydiresta if you get an industrial machine I suggest changing out the clutch motor with a servo motor. Consew has a unit that is very reasonably priced around 125$. The speed control is a million times better. I have a juki ddl 555 that I did that to and it regularly sews thru ten layers of duck canvas. Clutch motors are hard to operate at the beginning.

@PapiSmerf
@PapiSmerf 5 лет назад
The bag is an extra piece that can be lost, but truthfully it's just going to suffer the fate of any other unused cloth item laying around during a greasy, hard job. It's going to get used as a rag, it's going to get used to cover things other than the wrenches, it's going to get used to grab something hot and oily, etc... It's going to become a damn mess. I prefer leather ties. The wax from the canvas keeps them moist so if they're stitched on well they last. The bag is arguably more durable, but I've never seen a scenario where that extra durability is actually needed.

An awesome project, Jimmy you got me off my ass and inspired me to have a go at my own version. My wife was taking some things into St. Vincent de Paul and in a corner on the floor was a NECCHI MIRA BF sewing machine with a shit load of accessories Wait for it $20.00 Canadian. Should have seen the look on wifey's face, what the F**k you going to do with that. works well am impressed with this machine I'm sure I am overloading it but as long as you fit it up with heavy duty needles hell if the smoke comes out I know I can get another one at the second-hand store. My tool roll was about half the size of the one in your video, and I had a peace of Moosehide lying around waiting to be repurposed, Wow am pissed, I didn't think to video or take any pictures more interested in getting the job done. A lot of thought needed to present your work to upload it to RU-vid. A skill set I will have to consider and think through. Thank you for taking the time to share this one with us. Hey Jimmy, those straight non-angle ratchet wrenches kinda suck for leverage in that they usually sit flush against the work piece, not letting your fingers fully wrap around the wrench for max leverage. Spend a little extra cash and get the ones with either the swivel head or better yet the ones with a slight fixed angle and a small switch to change the direction and you will be a lot happier with the functionality. However, you'll probably come back at me with a comment like you need or want this style for a specific purpose.. At which I would say 👍🏼 ..very well then. Carry on.
