Yeah he was cool as fukk even without the haircut...also he had a great sense of humor. Ita fumny him and tim duncan r soo lowkey that people never realize how funny they were
Trigger_ Happy Kobe requested a trade from lakers and Tim Duncan almost left for Magic (Spurs fan here). They’re definitely in the conversation but stuck by while their teams won championships. Dirk stuck through a decade+ with no rings
This guy turned down millions to play for the Mavs, credited it to the fans. Then won a championship and didn’t jump ship when it turned bad, credited it to the fans. Loyal, smart and committed. A model leader and player.
Dirk's 2011 postseason run made him one of the GOATS. He literally beat like 10 future hall of famers to win the Championship on a team that had no other stars but him.
@@peaknees8808 lmao kid for example was 38 and the other two roughly the same age. Without dirks impressive performance the mavs wouldnt even make the playoffs
Puss in Jordans that’s crazy I didn’t even realize that man this guy was the ultimate underdog he’s a player you have too love even tho imma bron Dan it was nice to see the one star that was countlessly over looked
@@andreingramakadjscrewrip7372 That OKC team wasn't a big 3 and they had been to the playoffs twice I said what I said you got problem? And what's your definition of "great" towards that OKC team? Because if you think they were ALL TIME GREAT then you're dumb. Edit: and that Kobe team was not great either same goes for that heat team they weren't great until the following season
@@southsideman4891 Without Dirk, there are 6 german players in the NBA at the moment. But extraordinary players like Dirk. A top ten of all time. Dream of a career. Perfect character. They are rare like unicorns. Dirk was very special! Everybody likes him. There will never be player like Dirk.
@@FadingVitals correct on all points. I went to Church with Dwayne Wade's family before i ever knew who he was, so i was and alway will be a huge supporter of D-Wade; but i will never forget how impressed i was with Dirk when the Heat went up against him. When you root against a guy, if he was a jerk it would make it easier; you could not be more correct that he is a rare breed, we need more like him in every walk of life.
How old are you g ? Tbh I witnessed the layer gears of them cause I'm only 17 and my generation is more like Lebron, Curry, Harden, CP3, Wade, Blake griffin etc.. did you grow up watching them and ai and Kobe etc?
@@bennettnettina6585 I dont think you can compare since hes a big man and jordan was a 2guard but he is the power forward of all time If he isn't the best pf he is top 3
What he's done to the Mavs and NBA overall is insane. But omg how caring and selfless he is for his team is shown by announcing his retirement AFTER the game and not at the beginning of the season. I wish we had athletes like Dirk in every type of sport. He's one of a kind, a true legend!
Mikey Moore nothing wrong but it’s a team sports. Getting attention to one individual is only justified if they win a ring. Every arena showed appreciation to Dirk, Duncan, Ginobili, in other sports Manning where they still announced their retirement officially after the season.
Respect! I remember being dumbfounded when he beat the heat in 2010 (as well as OKC and LA). Now it’s time to pass the European baller torch to Luka...
its funny how some teams get remembered but dirk was on the mavs from 1999-2019....he was on all their teams..how man players can say that?...like think about that...he was a true legend...he didnt go from team to team to chase rings...he stayed in dallas suffered for 11 straight years then decided to do something about it without adding anyone special when people looked over him...and then he stayed....the mavs haven't done anything in the playoffs since that 2011 finals yet dirk stayed and thats what people appreciate....not this bandwagon shit bron kg and kd started....I respect players who stay..bird magic duncan kobe dirk...their breed is dying.....its a shame...they stuck it out....true champs....dirk won 1 single playoff series from 2007-2019 outside of that 2011 finals run...1...he lost 6 series missed the playoffs 6 of the last 7 years and since the title has 3 playoff game wins in 2 series....the dude literally suffered for 12 of the last 13 years there but thats what makes the 1 so special..it will be remembered like he won 3....kds possible 3 and even if he wins in ny will be seen as bought not earned....kobe earned his 5....mj earned his 6...dirk earned his....kd and bron are bandwagoners...totally soft generation...
@@diane2193 If you meet him in Würzburg, he's just a normal guy. People don't harry him. He's one of us common Würzburgers. Many/Some know him since his childhood. Money and Fame haven't changed him. (Würzburg has about 130.000 inhabitants)
@@strangeranimations5814 I think the praise is due to his parents and to himself. :) It's his kind. Dirk is one of us, everywhere! But it's still nice, that he's from my town :)
FadingVitals I play Würzburger Kickers in fifa xD won the triple with them I just like the name kickers and würzburger makes me hungry idk why this is so random
He changed the fundamental big man to a more multi dimentional big man. From the post big man to 3 point area. He started it all :) The 1 leg fade away jumpshot legend. Salute :)
Never seen a big shoot and play like him! Laimbeerwas a great shooter but he didnt have a whole game like Dirk. Durant is a player in his mold and even Shaq's son is going in this route now: full skill set is the way for bigs now.
Dirk Vince Wade Kobe Like everyone on the Spurs Garnett Paul Pierce Ray Allen And I know Carmelo is going sometime soon I'm gonna miss this era. This is who I watched when I was little. And it was incredible.
Thanks for a great time with you 👍
Legend...my brother passd awy n 2017. Mavs wuz & still is his team. But man he would tlk & brag so much bout u. Congrats on all ur success. 💯💯💯 21 yrs n da makn. Dirk ur still da man.
Legends need no words to be described. The name of Dirk Nowitzki brings nothing but amazing memories, even if you're not his fan or Mavericks fan. This man deserves respect at its purest.
Dirk’s outstanding performance brought Maverick NBA Championship will always be remembered. Thanks Dirk for everything you’ve done to team and NBA as a whole. Full of tears.
Dirk imo is the greatest power forward ever simply because of how he redefined the game. Bigs being able to shoot the deep ball was a rare luxury until he came. He’s 6th alltime in points scored, won league MVP, won Finals MVP, his championship run was done without another complementary Allstar teammate, took $197 million in career discounts out of loyalty, played 21 years for one organization, and was an even better dude off the court.
as a nba fan I kinda want tyson chandler dirk nowtizki vince carter pau gasol zach randolph jamal crawford nene hilario carmelo anthony d wade udonis haslem jose calderon kyle korver za za pachulia joe johnson to retire so lebron is the longest tenured player in the nba next season...they all could be and most of them will not be on teams next year or active so we will see but its funny to me if lebron is the last guy left pre 2004 draft in the nba next season and how la thinks they can win a title with him if no one else of top 10 status comes lol...a 35 year old 17th season vet lol..good job la...
You can see how much emotions flowing out of him for his entire career he was a mav the mavs was like a family for him... Thank you dirk enjoy your retirement
MFFL here, I still remember watching this live. When the MVP chants started at 0:36, tears were in my eyes and I joined in screaming my lungs out at my phone lol. Thanks for the memories GOAT🐐
