Dirk was my brothers absolute fav player. He took me to my very first NBA game to see him play when I first moved to Texas to live with him! R.I.P. to my bro, wish he could’ve seen them win this chip that year. I bet he would’ve been turnt all the way up!!!

Collison was on him most of the time, and he hacked, held and fouled him every play. Didn't matter that year, Dirk plowed through a number of NBA legends that will all go down in history as being better than Dirk (Kobe, KD, Bron, Wade) and some people may put Harden and Westbrook over him all time (low bball IQ people) Best title run in history and it's not even close.

Idc what y’all say, this season run was one of the greatest individual performances ever and Dirk’s ring is one of the most valuable. Won with a bunch of good (not great) role players at the end of their careers and didn’t have Caron Butler (third leading scorer) for the second half of the season. For all saying Dirk didn’t carry, Dirk went down with a knee sprain in the middle of the season. Want to know what Dallas’ record was when he was out: 2-7. Sure, Dirk’s supporting cast was decent, but take Dirk out of the picture and that Dallas team ends up 12th or 13th in the conference.

Ironically it wasn’t even one of Dirk’s best individual regular seasons at all. But his playoff run was great. His team just gelled together better than previous years when his individual numbers were even better.

Tbh this isn’t Dirks best year, 05-07 was his absolute prime, he just finally had a good team around him. He’s just so good in 2011 that people think it was his prime. It wasn’t. Individually he’s had better

The pick and roll is so dominant in today's game with little to no switching that Dirk would average 40 a game if he was in his prime playing in 2024. The mid range has almost been abandoned except for CP3, Derozen, Butler, and maybe Kyrie. Meaning, nobody can defend the mid range anymore.

This reminds me that the potential #1 pick Jabari Smith plays a lot like Dirk. No waste movements, just the master of the triple-threat face-up and a knock down pure shooter. Dirk is obviously taller but Jabari will project to be a better defender. I don't know if Jabari grew up watching Dirk but his game is a lot like Dirk's.
